- It’s a coconut-cracking lesson for the orphans of the orangutan jungle school. But with some students doing better than others, it doesn’t take long for one of the strugglers to turn to thievery.

The Raspberry , you brought to my attention a question I have. You’re just the one to clear up the confusion in my poor old Canadian mind. What’s the difference between a MOVIE,.....& a FILM!! When I was young (and very innocent), a FILM was taken to a store like Walmart, to have them develop the pictures in it & then you would return to pick up & pay for those paper pictures. When, as a young person still living at home, you wanted to go see a movie, you’d say to your mom, “Mom, I’m going to the show to see a movie with my friends. Okay?” She’d reply, “Okay. But be sure to be home by supper time!” 😁 👍🏻

indonesia had different interpretation of jungle - forest - bush:
jungle = super dense, high diversity vegetation. such borneo, amazon and congo.
forest = typically low diversity such europe, mostly pine & grass
bush = kind of savana, no big trees as canopy
woods = plantation, usually for industrial purpose such pine & palm plantation.
the word "hutan" or "utan" refer to jungle.
Left with an empty husk and a low social status.

I'm not a super big "protect the environment" type of person. But we need to preserve these things. If orangutans go extinct in my life time I'm going to be very upset to say the least.
Don't worry. Orangutans are one of the protected species here in Borneo island. The people who incharge of it working 24/7 nonstop to keep this wildlife away from poachers etc

A later video showed Beni on the pre release island. He is huge and is kept in a separate cage because the other males are intimidated by his size. When full grown he will probably be the boss. He does seem to be good natured though.

Amazing how mellow these animals are. No other animal deals with problems as complex as this situation and react so calmy and rationally. That Chimp knew he was being punished and so he accepted it and didn't escalate it, these animals are more docile than most people are.

This is all I need. I don't even know what's on satellite. I love these more than picking up the remote to even look. I have many favorites but Beni's been at the top since day 1. Who would've ever dreamed 2,023 years ago we'd be entertaining ourselves watching great apes. Even crazier yet, on A CORDLESS PORTABLE TELEPHONE. That gets its reception from outer space. Ha ha ha!!!
