I will pass by Baybay going to Hinunangan last week of April 2018, this month. Long weekend and we might as well try out the beaches and springs in Baybay. I like what I see in the video.
The dozen eggs gifted to the church of San Antonio de Padua originated during the Spanish time. When the Spanish friars started building the church so Baybay. They required every converts to bring eggs everyday to the location of the church to be built. The church is made of coral blocks form by the natives of Baybay. The eggs mixed with grounded coral served as the binder for coral blocks. Like cement to hold the block together. Since then it become like a belief of the Baybayanons that to receive a special blessing or request a blessing of some form, they have to give the church some eggs. All of some form of the Spanish friars exploitation of the innocent and ignorant Filipinos during their time in the Philippines.
