I love all these stories!! So great that everyone came together to remember and honor the great Jeff Porcaro. If he’s listening from above, I’m sure he’s wearing a huge smile on his face 🙏❤
I’m with Jim Keltner in that this show you’ve put together John, is a big deal to all of us. Yourselves and the viewers. What a treat man! Please do part 2!!!
I didn’t know this man personally but I’m tearing up too. When I sit down at the drums and listen to the other musicians running down a tune I’m always thinking what would Jeff play. He and Gadd are the two guys who always pop in my head first. That’s because they crafted parts for songs to elevate the music and make it better. Feel first, chops maybe
Greetings from Ireland ☘️...This is truly great....thanks for sharing...God Bless Jeff.....he’s still the greatest ❤ We need "Jeff" The movie ! We've had Whiplash ..a good movie..but Jeff's life journey and the Porcaco family is a great story that needs to be told...not only is Jeff's life story an incredible one but the Porcaro family story is a Truly great story.. Trust me !...im Irish !.. I think people from all walks of life & ages would love it !
John, another great podcast. To see these drummers of this caliber talk about their memories of Jeff Porcaro was so entertaining. Your recent podcasts with Myron Grombacher and Stan Lynch have been so much fun as those are two guys from my youth and my formative years that were big influences on me. Well done!
It was great hearing how he was to everybody whether they were in the industry or not.The behind the scenes stories are so interesting to listen to as every new story I hear gives me an inside scoop & shows me how truly great he was not only as a session drummer,but also as a human being.The only criticisms I've got about the video are guest related.Getting every guest to come up with 1 story vs only a few telling multiple stories and most notably extending the length of the video so you can get all of those stories in would have made it even better.The only criticism I've got about the guests themselves (& it's no reflection on you whatsoever) is that all of them weren't present completely throughout the entire podcast.Eating,disappearing off the screen,looking at their phone &/or generally paying too much attention to something other than the podcast was IMO disrespectful to you (the host) the other panel members,the viewers & most of all to Jeff,his memory & legacy.Afterall the podcast is about Jeff & nothing else,so they should focus on him with all of their attention please. Thanks to you & the panel of guests for their personal stories......
Jeff gets credited for Diamond Girl but i remember asking him at the baked potato club sitin right next to him and I asked him Who played on diamond girl he said Harvey man
Untouchable feel and groove. Master of all shuffles. He was also known for single takes in the studio. GOAT.
So respectful John. I’m so grateful to have studied w/his Dad. Great podcast! Jeffrey is still #1

Thank you. This is great info and I appreciate it. Sometimes having this many guests is like herding cats. 😆🙏❤️

I understand completely about the "like herding cats" reference.Keep up the good work.Thanks again. wbrockstar
@wbrockstar9550 🙏❤
Thanks so much for doing this!!
What a panel. Colaiuta, Keltner, Morotta, Mallaber, Robinson …. if Gadd was there it would be complete.
Steve wanted to be there, but couldn't make it due to travel.
Great Job as always
Thank you. 🙏❤️
Awesome initiative @ModernDrummer! More of these please!
