Día de los Muertos (the Day of the Dead) is a traditional Mexican holiday where families celebrate and honor the return of their dead loved ones. Día de los Muertos includes skull imagery, makeup, and various food traditions including pan de muertos, pulque, and sugar skulls. Though it occurs close to Halloween, Día de los Muertos is its own special holiday in Mexico.
