Can you explain the formula, why need multiple with 2?
It should be like this - Residue percent = ((A-B)/50)*100 = (A-B)*2 .....50 is original weight of emulsion...Thats why we should use sample weight exactly 50+-0.1gm. Hope it clears your doubt.

Generally 60% or as per manufacturer certificate
In old code IS 8887-2004 Min residue for SS1 was 50 % but in new code IS 8887-2018 , column is blank.
