      It aint that bad, i watched one 2 hour long video and now i know the whole alphabet. Some letters are easy to forget though

      I think it took me about a day to be able to read Russian, just takes a bit of focus. But practice is definitely needed as it can be confusing

      i'll recommend start learning russian language with alhpabet. It just allows you to read instantly as pronunciation is the same as written (99.9%). It's the easiest part of language.

      @@lucianmiron3911 I agree. I’ve been learning russian for 2 months now, although I’m not very consistent since I haven’t got much time, and I can read okayish but I feel like you need to know a lot of vocabulary so that you can read with no problem.

      Every time I see new Russian words I try sounding them out with the letters and the sounds they make that I know. Sometimes it do be difficult but yeah. Also helps to know what they mean 😂

    " I am going to " literally means 'to have a wish to do smth' , but you translated ' я иду делать" it doesn't work like that. We have a special verb "собираться" Wich is translated as " to be going to"

    I want to learn russian as Russia is one of my favourite country’s no matter the “mistakes” political members have made the people are nice and I love there culture and military but I’m only 13 and hoping to ge there by 16 at least good luck learning for anyone else and have fun guys :)

      ThatOneCharlie есть передача называется «Галилео», правда будет очень сложно (много научных терминов), но и очень интересно и познавательно! Также могу посоветовать сериалы, есть один очень клевый сериал называется «Кухня», советую)))

      @@thatonecharlie I'm always fascinated by the people who wish to learn my language :) It's so difficult to do as a grown-up, especially the pronunciation... However, it's the same the other way round - if as a Russian you start learning English in high school or later, it's soooo difficult to get rid of the accent and pronounce properly...

    My main tip for anyone learning ANY language is to of course make the alphabet the first thing you learn when it comes to the beginning of learning any language, otherwise you won’t get anywhere.. and also read books, watch tv shows or films, and just to do anything you can to consume the language to get you familiar as possible with it. Also, please make learning grammar, etc.. the last thing you do as it’s not as important as forming sentences, etc.

      quizlet.com/511519834/russian-nouns-flash-cards/ that is one of my quizlet sets. But I personally think that it works best if you create your own list of words you use. That way it will be more meaningful :)

    Advice not listening modern music, switch to USSR,
    Songs was with better pronunciation, lirics was better, it will be easier to pickup for you.
    Try Vladimir Vysotsky songs, a lot of songs with very good pronunciation. Also big historical and cultural impact.

    Grammar not too much to focus on but in Russian u also need to take note about it but you will learned the grammar whn you learning the Daily conversation ans common phrases. There you will see the grammar. Like conjugation verbs. Feminine, masculine, middle, and others more. And all i found them easy to understand by followed this one russian learning book. About 500 pages buy i get all variety of russian books. If you want tell me i will share that ebook for free. In PDF format. if you wanna buy it really high cost

    You gotta get books, and sit down with them and learn. Learn 1-1000 and the alphabet in your language too. Duolingo is a snall suppliment, but you need to try to say things talking to yourself, and if you dont know the word look it up and implement it into your Vocabulary, it german you have to learn the iteration of the for a word, neuter femald or male. Good luck too you all

    Здаров, я выучил русский самостоятельно когда я учился в Durham (я окончил университет в этом году). Советую взять в библиотеке учебник под названием "Using Russian: Vocabulary". Это правда помогло мне пополнить свой словарный запас. Обращайся если тебе нужна помощь :)
    Hey man, I learnt Russian while studying at Durham as well (it was a hobby for me, not my degree). I started in first year and could read anything by fourth year. If you want any help or anything just ask. There are some great textbooks in the Billy b library. If you just want vocabulary, I recommend 'Using Russian: Vocabulary'. If you need grammar help, I recommend the New Penguin Course :)

      @@thatonecharlie There's a whole literature section on level 2 and a good selection of textbooks (all those I mentioned and more) on level 3 :) The book is called 'The New Penguin Russian course' by Nicholas J Brown.

    I can help in learning Russian, as I am a native speaker of this language. The first two classes will be absolutely free. Научу понимать утонченные фразы и слова, если не выупаешь* их, дабы ужн скоро понимать русов*. I speak English well, so there will be no problems.

      @@thatonecharlie they're the same thing but they're not.......if you're British, you can be Welsh/British (a Brit from Wales) or Scottish/British (a Brit from Scotland) or English/British (a Brit from England).
