Dorraine Samuels will still be on radio Veteran broadcaster Dorraine Samuels has not, in fact, retired from the RJR/Gleaner Communications Group, as was previously reported. Rather, Samuels, who has been a longstanding anchor on Television Jamaica’s (TVJ) nightly news, will no longer be in that role as of Monday. However, Samuels remains with the RJR/Gleaner Communications Group which she joined nearly 40 years ago, and will be on radio come Monday morning. The error is regretted and an apology extended for the misinformation.

Thanks again Teach for keeping me inform. I clearly remembered when I was a little boy, l learnt from the Barry Gordon Snow on the defunct JBC, that one of the best female voice on radio that of the unforgettable Marie Garth, was leaving RJR, the Boss Radio. The station tried desperately to fine a replacement, without success. Then came the vivacious Dorraine Samuels to the rescue to RJR Supreme Sound. Although she was not a replacement for Marie, the listeners of radio welcome her to the airwaves. I was also an excellent moved by the station to use her as an excellent news reader. May I used this platform to thank Dorraine Samuels for the contribution she has made to nation building. I believe that she is one of the best news readers in the English speaking Caribbean.
