Pastor better preach this much needed topic. 🙌🏽 I have experienced sexual abuse and I have often wondered whether or not my sexuality is contaminated, but I didn't know how to resolve my inner ponderings. After this, I've gotten confirmation that there's no sin in being attracted or having sexual urges. I've learned that my sexuality isn't contaminated because God designed it. I do understand that my sexual pursuit of pleasure was birthed prematurely by the pedophiles that violated me. I gave up fornication a long time ago, actually before I got married the first time, now that I'm divorced I'm saving myself again. Yet, I must admit that since I've surrendered my life to Jesus I have quietly carried a little bit of shame concerning my sexuality and sensuality. Honestly, this sermon was a much needed blessing! Had me thinking about Song of Songs 2:7, "Daughters of Jerusalem, I charge you by the gazelles and by the does of the field: Do not arouse or awaken love until it so desires." -NIV Personal testimony: I was recently tempted more than ever before to give up my virginity and clock in my covenant with God concerning purity (@ 24yoa) this summer, for a man who was not for me or my walk with Christ.😔 I had made excuses for some of his spiritual red flags, making it harder to leave. However, I asked the Lord for guidance and I was pulled out of the relationship right on time. Glory be to God! I am thankful for His continued provision over me and His patience. 🥰 He never fails y'all! Thankful for this healthy wakeup call.

The most powerful teaching I've encountered. The best understanding and expression of the word allowing us to see our sexuality as God created it. I had plans to sleep with someone I've been dating but I'm not going to cave in, but run away from the temptation.
I had been swiping past this video for the last few weeks . I wasn’t ready to dig deep into my emotions and face the reality of this topic. Today was the day. I loved his testimony at the beginning. What a beautiful way to make us all feel human. And that segment on heterosexual sins was eye opening. Praise the God for the transparency of this video. I can’t wait to watch the whole series.
I have been struggling with this since the beginning of quarantine. I prayed to God to allow someone to teach on this to help me, and he answered my prayers, so thankful for this.
I struggled repeatedly with masturbation and pornography for a while after being saved... I was just tired of life like that so I decided I wasn't going to pray about it but simply to ask God to either take it away or kill me. I meant it... Anyway, he refused to kill me but he gave me a revelation that changed my mind about why I was struggling. While asking him he says to me "envy and bitterness"! I was like chill out Lord, I don't even get jealous of people... But anyway because it is you, I believe you, I repent and surrender it ; but I would like to watch my thoughts to know what you're talking about because you're always right. Few days later, while watching RUclips, out of nowhere, in the twinkling of an eye, I spotted it... Envy and bitterness. It was exposed by the Holy Spirit... Just then I saw how one could go for years and not know what the problem is. I repented again and asked God to help me be mindful of the way I feel when others are celebrating their marriage and to let him know my needs instead of going to fend for and provide my needs for a relationship. I thank God for this revelation because it completely changed my life. These days I listen to the Holy Spirit and allow him manage my emotions.... especially when it comes to seks........ Once I start to feel some type of way, and desire to masturbate or watch porn, I know what I did wrong and I repent and track back to where I missed it in my thinking. Do I still think of seks? Of course I do but the Holy Spirit took off the edge of hopelessness and desperation that usually propelled me to take action. Do I still get jealous of people that get to have legit seks? Sometimes I do but what that deliverance helps me do is that I catch myself on time and to report myself to God. The failure to report myself and my desires and needs to God, arising from that Jealousy means I don't trust Him to provide for my sexual needs or any needs for that matter and that then means that at that point I'm choosing to acquire the thing I need by my own power, strength, timing. This is what produces bitterness towards God. LEVERAGE JEALOUSY So jealousy is a call to prayer, openness, vulnerability towards God. It's a call to honesty; to admitting and saying "Lord I want the same opportunity that that couple has. Lord I wanna f*k so bad right now, I need your help cos I'd rather wait for you and do it your way and I trust that you have a system in store to care for my needs". Help Lord, I'm horny...". A failure to leverage jealousy to become transparent before God transmutes jealousy to envy. We see how dangerous envy is from the story of Cain. He couldn't be vulnerable towards God and ask for his blessings so instead he tried to eliminate his brother and unfortunately succeeded. He could have asked God to bless him instead of feeling quietly entitled to it because that made him feel disadvantaged to see Abel get blessed. Envy produces a lack mentality. Remember the song "why are all the good girls taken everytime?"... The song comes from a place of envy and can be very dangerous to suggest that you won't get anyone good to marry. Makes you feel unlucky, hopeless, useless even. Envy makes us hurriedly dismiss another person's testimony because we are going to make it big. This part is where is gets very subtle and tricky because this is where the decision to DIY or serve oneself kicks in. It's the point where one essentially thinks God isn't about to help or bless them so they're better off going to get what they need. It's the point where pride kicks in. Pride basically says, I deserve it but God is unjust and won't give it to me so I will just go ahead and help myself. Can you see the slew of wrong thinking that can be stemmed by just crying out to God and not being a "big boy" or "big girl"? Just being a baby of the Lord helps us avoid a lot of dangers. SIN vs BEING BABIES OF THE LORD. LITERALLY The first casualty of envy is the person being envied. Again it's very subtle and tricky because you haven't overtly wished them to be struck by lightning. All you did was mentally switch off from looking at their wedding photos to thinking how much more grand your wedding is going to be. And yes you may seem really happy for them on the surface and in the moment but the truth is deep down inside, you feel like they beat you to it. This reveals a competition mindset, and beyond that, more insidiously that we were already walking in our own strength in many other areas of life where we're "working hard and doing our best" to get to the point where we can be rewarded with these things. Again, this fosters bitterness because we're feeling like God is an unfair umpire. All of this type of wrong thinking is called sin. Sin causes us to take the wrong action. The wrong action by nature of its being wrong violates God's law of 'love of God and neighbors'. The injury that it causes to God's name, to self and others is called iniquity. The deliberate persistence in thinking, and acting in this way is powered by some wisdom and this wisdom is called the mystery of iniquity. Look at the global entertainment industry and you see the mystery of iniquity distilling into movies, advertising, music, sounds etc. Everything is simply powered by greed, envy, "keeping up...", turning up... But we're all just babies of the Lord and he wants to meet our needs in a way that sets us free, gives us peace and so that we're not in competition with others, unknowingly. Yes, unknowingly because it's possible to never know that we've lived our lives in competition mode. That's why we never measure up, never have enough because, look at the host of people we're competing with...: Rappers, artists, engineers, musicians, neighbors, class mates, "exes & next-ses", CEOs, entrepreneurs, authors, parents, colleagues, etc.,....all day, everyday they're up in our heads and we're trying to rack up more stuff to be bigger than they are. And so we work ourselves dry and look at social media to remind us how inadequate we are while we're at it. But all we just need to be is babies of the Lord because the failure to trust God for the little things in life eventually always snowballs into entire cultures powered by the mystery of iniquity: lawlessness! Be God's baby. Literally. Cry to him for the things you need! This was what Jesus spent time trying to teach us. God loves us, we're his babies, we should ask him for what we want and stop being envious of others. Read Matthew chapters 5 through 7. Start with the little things, train your belief muscle and learn to be vulnerable towards God. Cry! WHAT SIN REALLY IS Sin is the wrong mindset, more like a mental illness, whereas righteousness is functioning normally according to God's design. God designed us in his imagine to think like him. The 10 commandments show us the standard but doesn't empower us to be straight with God. However, the grace&truth of Jesus Christ is what washes us and looses us from our sins. This means that it is the Holy Spirit whom we need on the inside of us to reveal and convict wrong thinking, apply the blood of Jesus to wash us, intercede for us and obtain God's mercy for us. Without him, we're doomed. Having the Holy Spirit is how we get transformed by the renewing of our minds. I'm grateful to God for this facility and I encourage you to appropriate it too simply by asking the Father in Jesus name. God's more than excited to give you his Holy Spirit because that guarantees you straight thinking (righteousness) and all the benefits that go with it. Jesus guarantees this in Matthew 7:11 & Luke 11:13, that our Father in heaven will give good things (Holy Spirit) abundantly to all who ask. Thank you for taking the time to read my testimony. I pray that you're blessed today and that as you accept the Holy Spirit's help you will come to great benefits in Jesus name. Amen!!! God be praised!!
The bit on sexual immorality and cohabitation is really important and mind blowing. The story about his friend Todd and the gf, that was important about how we have to prioritize our purity over our relationships. Our accountability has to be more than just our partners. Sometimes we must RUN! I hope he found a woman that honours God's word as well.

I can't get with that rejoice in our sufferings stuff. Honestly. That's completely crazy to me. We didn't ask to be here in the first place. Life is suffering enough. Why would I rejoice in it???? Pastor better preach this much needed topic. 🙌🏽 I have experienced sexual abuse and I have often wondered whether or not my sexuality is contaminated, but I didn't know how to resolve my inner ponderings. After this, I've gotten confirmation that there's no sin in being attracted or having sexual urges. I've learned that my sexuality isn't contaminated because God designed it. I do understand that my sexual pursuit of pleasure was birthed prematurely by the pedophiles that violated me. I gave up fornication a long time ago, actually before I got married the first time, now that I'm divorced I'm saving myself again. Yet, I must admit that since I've surrendered my life to Jesus I have quietly carried a little bit of shame concerning my sexuality and sensuality. I feel "horny" quite often, but I've surrendered that act of sex to the Will of God. Thank you Lord ! I can finally release this shame. 🙌🏽 🤲🙏🏼

I struggled repeatedly with masturbation and pornography for a while after being saved... I was just tired of life like that so I decided I wasn't going to pray about it but simply to ask God to either take it away or kill me. I meant it...
Anyway, he refused to kill me but he gave me a revelation that changed my mind about why I was struggling.
While asking him he says to me "envy and bitterness"!
I was like chill out Lord, I don't even get jealous of people... But anyway because it is you, I believe you, I repent and surrender it ; but I would like to watch my thoughts to know what you're talking about because you're always right.
Few days later, while watching RUclips, out of nowhere, in the twinkling of an eye, I spotted it... Envy and bitterness.
It was exposed by the Holy Spirit... Just then I saw how one could go for years and not know what the problem is.
I repented again and asked God to help me be mindful of the way I feel when others are celebrating their marriage and to let him know my needs instead of going to fend for and provide my needs for a relationship.
I thank God for this revelation because it completely changed my life.
These days I listen to the Holy Spirit and allow him manage my emotions.... especially when it comes to seks........
Once I start to feel some type of way, and desire to masturbate or watch porn, I know what I did wrong and I repent and track back to where I missed it in my thinking. Do I still think of seks? Of course I do but the Holy Spirit took off the edge of hopelessness and desperation that usually propelled me to take action.
Do I still get jealous of people that get to have legit seks? Sometimes I do but what that deliverance helps me do is that I catch myself on time and to report myself to God. The failure to report myself and my desires and needs to God, arising from that Jealousy means I don't trust Him to provide for my sexual needs or any needs for that matter and that then means that at that point I'm choosing to acquire the thing I need by my own power, strength, timing. This is what produces bitterness towards God.
LEVERAGE JEALOUSY
So jealousy is a call to prayer, openness, vulnerability towards God. It's a call to honesty; to admitting and saying "Lord I want the same opportunity that that couple has. Lord I wanna f*k so bad right now, I need your help cos I'd rather wait for you and do it your way and I trust that you have a system in store to care for my needs". Help Lord, I'm horny...".
A failure to leverage jealousy to become transparent before God transmutes jealousy to envy. We see how dangerous envy is from the story of Cain. He couldn't be vulnerable towards God and ask for his blessings so instead he tried to eliminate his brother and unfortunately succeeded.
He could have asked God to bless him instead of feeling quietly entitled to it because that made him feel disadvantaged to see Abel get blessed. Envy produces a lack mentality. Remember the song "why are all the good girls taken everytime?"... The song comes from a place of envy and can be very dangerous to suggest that you won't get anyone good to marry. Makes you feel unlucky, hopeless, useless even.
Envy makes us hurriedly dismiss another person's testimony because we are going to make it big. This part is where is gets very subtle and tricky because this is where the decision to DIY or serve oneself kicks in. It's the point where one essentially thinks God isn't about to help or bless them so they're better off going to get what they need. It's the point where pride kicks in. Pride basically says, I deserve it but God is unjust and won't give it to me so I will just go ahead and help myself. Can you see the slew of wrong thinking that can be stemmed by just crying out to God and not being a "big boy" or "big girl"? Just being a baby of the Lord helps us avoid a lot of dangers.
SIN vs BEING BABIES OF THE LORD. LITERALLY
The first casualty of envy is the person being envied. Again it's very subtle and tricky because you haven't overtly wished them to be struck by lightning. All you did was mentally switch off from looking at their wedding photos to thinking how much more grand your wedding is going to be. And yes you may seem really happy for them on the surface and in the moment but the truth is deep down inside, you feel like they beat you to it. This reveals a competition mindset, and beyond that, more insidiously that we were already walking in our own strength in many other areas of life where we're "working hard and doing our best" to get to the point where we can be rewarded with these things. Again, this fosters bitterness because we're feeling like God is an unfair umpire.
All of this type of wrong thinking is called sin. Sin causes us to take the wrong action. The wrong action by nature of its being wrong violates God's law of 'love of God and neighbors'. The injury that it causes to God's name, to self and others is called iniquity. The deliberate persistence in thinking, and acting in this way is powered by some wisdom and this wisdom is called the mystery of iniquity. Look at the global entertainment industry and you see the mystery of iniquity distilling into movies, advertising, music, sounds etc. Everything is simply powered by greed, envy, "keeping up...", turning up...
But we're all just babies of the Lord and he wants to meet our needs in a way that sets us free, gives us peace and so that we're not in competition with others, unknowingly. Yes, unknowingly because it's possible to never know that we've lived our lives in competition mode. That's why we never measure up, never have enough because, look at the host of people we're competing with...: Rappers, artists, engineers, musicians, neighbors, class mates, "exes & next-ses", CEOs, entrepreneurs, authors, parents, colleagues, etc.,....all day, everyday they're up in our heads and we're trying to rack up more stuff to be bigger than they are. And so we work ourselves dry and look at social media to remind us how inadequate we are while we're at it.
But all we just need to be is babies of the Lord because the failure to trust God for the little things in life eventually always snowballs into entire cultures powered by the mystery of iniquity: lawlessness!
Be God's baby. Literally. Cry to him for the things you need! This was what Jesus spent time trying to teach us. God loves us, we're his babies, we should ask him for what we want and stop being envious of others. Read Matthew chapters 5 through 7.
Start with the little things, train your belief muscle and learn to be vulnerable towards God. Cry!
WHAT SIN REALLY IS
Sin is the wrong mindset, more like a mental illness, whereas righteousness is functioning normally according to God's design.
God designed us in his imagine to think like him. The 10 commandments show us the standard but doesn't empower us to be straight with God. However, the grace&truth of Jesus Christ is what washes us and looses us from our sins.
This means that it is the Holy Spirit whom we need on the inside of us to reveal and convict wrong thinking, apply the blood of Jesus to wash us, intercede for us and obtain God's mercy for us. Without him, we're doomed. Having the Holy Spirit is how we get transformed by the renewing of our minds.
I'm grateful to God for this facility and I encourage you to appropriate it too simply by asking the Father in Jesus name. God's more than excited to give you his Holy Spirit because that guarantees you straight thinking (righteousness) and all the benefits that go with it. Jesus guarantees this in Matthew 7:11 & Luke 11:13, that our Father in heaven will give good things (Holy Spirit) abundantly to all who ask.
