    iOS 26 is more like a glass themed iOS 18 rather than a complete redesign. It actually feels so similar to iOS 18 apart from liquid glass thing.

    • @user_47214
      @user_47214 8 months ago +30

      I honestly love the liquid glass UI. It's just beautiful and makes me feel good just by looking at it. UIs have become sterile, and I love that apple is bringing some organic look to it.

    • @jph.j5183
      @jph.j5183 8 months ago +11

      You would be surprised comparing two phones with the respective operating systems iOS18 almost feels outdated and keep in mind that a majority on the time spent on iOS26 and all the other platforms was stability over features because they know how buggy iOS18 was this redesign is a redesign it's not one flat look anymore it's essentially ever part or peace of an app is separate and stacked so their are more parts an app developers can work on with rounder icons and gyroscope lighting effects that enhance depth try looking at it from a more positive perspective and don't forget people did ask Apple for a new look.

    • @GGori_99

      That's saying a lot but do keep in mind that perhaps a lot of the features he said should have been introduces are there just were not mentioned in the event, they might be preparing for the launch of their new products end of this year and they don't want to reveal much now so for me he might have been too quick with the judgment and Tim might actually be cooking it's just a matter of waiting. That's not to say he was wrong his videos are always the best to watch.

    To Arun and the editing team. I might be delusional for commenting but a while back I criticized the editing style of the videos that inclined more towards maintaining attention using cheap tactics cheap people use like Mr beast that essentially don’t respect the audience but all your past videos have been completely different, not barebones but edited thoughtfully and in a calmer manner. As a content creator, these things truly set you and your team apart. Thank you for keeping your personality and unique selling points to yourself and your brand identity.

    I wish Apple gave the iPad windowing feature to iPhones as well. When the iPhone is connected to an external display, it could display the new windowing interface on the external display and use the phone screen as a touchpad, kinda like Samsung Dex. It would be really cool and I hope that it happens someday!

      Let's hope other companies don't follow Apple. 90% of what Apple introduced was blatantly copied from Samsung where it's been for years. The glassy design is copied from Windows from 20 years ago. It failed for good reasons. I pray other companies don't follow this BS

      Everybody keeps saying Vista or Aqua but neither actually emulated how glass refracts at its edges.
      Some parts of the PS3 and Wii U actually did that. This is cool.
      Maybe people don't notice how glass works. They just see transparency and think "ooh Vista, oooh Aero"

    Liquid Glass is beautiful and great for Vision OS. But Apple's mistake is going all-in on the design language on every other platform.
    I think they'll eventually dial back the amount of liquid glass on iOS, MacOS and iPadOS. You'll see see Liquid Glass, but in a sensible quantity.

      Google is basically a software company, whereas Apple is hardware (*), so it isn't remarkable that Apple will be behind the curve in software -- it has always been. Yet, people bang on about it as if it is a revelation. Get over it. If you need the latest features sooner, then buy an Android device.
      (*) Google without hardware would still be massive. Apple without hardware would be dead.

    • @TheKingkong2468
      @TheKingkong2468 8 months ago

      @andyH_Englandapple has been a software company since their beginnings. Their products have been hand and hand (software/hardware) for decades. Mac vs. PC is literally, just a software war.

    • @andyH_England
      @andyH_England 8 months ago +1

      @TheKingkong2468Apple software is needed to run the hardware. Without the hardware the software is useless. They nearly went bust when they tried to be a software company and since that period they are hardware. Google is 99% software. Apple is developing its own LLM but as it is based around privacy it takes longer than say Gemini which farms all your data for machine learning.

    A few years back Microsoft brought out their new design language. All those floating, curling shapes and ribbons. People loved it and every brand raced to copy it, well every tech brand. As a motion designer, I'm always seeing "Microsoft inspired design" in mood boards and client requests. I don't think too many people are going to chase after Apple with this glass look. We had Windows Vista, nobody liked it!

      The difference is that Apple has, what… 6 different device categories? They are attempting to unify the design experience between all 6 Operating Systems, not to mention various activities that can be handed off from one device to another
      It makes perfect sense for them to choose a single version number for all of them at this point, rather than 6 different version numbers (where it’s not immediately obvious what the corresponding/compatible version from another device would be)

      Prove me wrong: Samsung has made the same phone every year adding features like plastic protection for cameras
      Taking Bluetooth features away
      And adding price$ meanwhile Apple adding more powerful processor improve sensors efficiency and the price stays the same
      In summary Samsung makes their phones worse and increases price
