I won't even talk about cost of living. Okay I will it is boom or bust you ether have a good paying job or you don't. 2 years ago I was making 68K, blew my back out in a motor vehicle accident, now I get 29K.
Your big mistake makes me doubt the overall information. Enid is NOT a suburb of OKC, it is an hour and 18 minutes from Edmond, which is an actual suburb of OKC.
So Enid is the #1 place to live in the whole state of Oklahoma? This is news to me.. and a couple of the photos didn't even match the towns you were describing. Something is very weird here.
Wow I like it you should make a RUclips of Top 5 Best places to visit Missouri I wanna know so if your free make a RUclips about Top 5 Best places to visit Missouri
The only reason Enid is considered to be a good place to live is because the economy is striving because of the air force base and soldiers spend money
I grew up in Enid in 70s and 80s it was the best. But then they closed the racetrack , go carts, movie theater and leveled the water park. The dragging Van Buren thing they are doin is pretty cool. David Allen ballpark is nice....but really Enid could do a lot more for entertainment. Not number 1. Maybe number 6 or 7
I don't agree with this evaluation. I live in Edmond. It is a good place to live but housing costs you quote are extremely low. I know less about housing prices in the other cities featured but I know enough to know your prices quotes for rent are also well below the reality of what is charged.
Enid is not a suburb of Oklahoma City...... I live in Enid, it's about an hour and a half from Oklahoma City. Definitely not in the OKC Metro lol. Nice video though!
@@nopenope5398 Well Enid might be boring but it is a good place to live. The crime rate is low so it’s safe, the schools and college is decent and there’s a lot of good people
@@AWT5020 low crime rate is dependent on your perspective, as at one point Enid was the meth capital of the country and since then a couple of other places have surpassed Enid but it's still in the top 25, for the school system as I mentioned in previous comment eps only care is if a student shows up, the school board has no concern about actually teaching, the majority of teachers and support staff are good at their job but the problem is from within the school board of directors, policy makers, and administration. Then we have the issue of city council spending millions of dollars on useless decorations and projects the residents of Enid voted against such as the hotel downtown that tax payers dollars are being paid to cover the ludacris contract minimum occupancy rate instead of using the funding for projects that are worth while such as infrastructure repair and upgrades, building a second high school so that students have classrooms big enough for everyone to have a proper desk, hiring extra campus police to get the obscene amount of drug possession and drug usage eliminated from within our schools. We have students dropping acid and smoking various other substances in the classrooms and bathrooms and are told there is no way to pay for more campus police but yet the city council can pay a so called artist to use sheet metal and cut out a bunch of cows and horses and charge the city several thousand dollars for each of them.
@@nopenope5398 I understand all that. But Enid still has a low crime rate regardless, It’s been proven. Enid had the lowest crime in the state in 2020. The school systems offer quite a bit to new students. They might not care about the actual teaching, but they offer a lot. Enid does use the money toward useless things. But Enid still is a decent place to live. We have the necessities we need to live, here so we don’t have to go to other places to get it. I’d rather live here in Enid than some other decent sized places in the state. Like Lawton, Chickasha, Shawnee, Tulsa
@@AWT5020 what are you considering crime? Enid is at 22.2 for violent crime which is .5 below national average of 22.7 so in that regard Enid is slightly lower than national average for violent crime...but has a score of 55.2 for property crime which the national average is 35.4. so while you are slightly less likely to be a victim of a violent crime in Enid, you are considerably more likely to be a victim of a property crime. The reason for that fact is the sheer number of tweaked out drug addicts that our police force and judicial system routinely ignores and let's them walk free to steal and damage other people's property so they can get their next score.
Ponca City and Enid's total appeal is their legacy to the past with oil men like EW Marland, Lew Wentz, and the Champlain family. Honestly your representation of everything about Enid is completely the opposite of truth and this is coming from a 30+ year Enid resident.
