I agree with you on Guerlain Vetiver. That House became my favorite one. Mature guys in their late 30s (maybe) then 40s, 50s and so on cannot be better treated than they will be by Guerlain. They got so many fantastic offerings. That one, Vetiver, is in my top 3 (along with Heritage and l'Instant).
I love Vetiver note in fragrances! Few of my favourite Vetiver fragrances: 1. Vetiver Nocturne Absolu by Bortnikoff (Best Vetiver fragrance out there IMHO) 2. Sultan Vetiver by Nishane 3. Roja Vetiver Parfum Cologne 4. Incident Diplomatique by Jovoy
@@ScentTrail I find it a sweet combination of vetiver and subtle chestnut cream. Some people get a sense of "burned rubber" though which i think fits the name. It is very likable daytime scent in my opinion but rather intimate
Very thorough and practical review. Only thing I would like to point out is that I had Encre Noire Extreme and it smelled great except it lasted 30 minutes with 20 sprays. I thought I was noseblind but when I asked if anyone could smell me, everyone said nope! Greatest disappointment ever.
Great list and I enjoyed it and Guerlain Vetiver and Tom Ford Vetiver and Terre de Hermes eau intense Vetiver and I'm going to try the other fragrances and have a blessed day
Great video! I definitely will do some exploring from this list. I enjoy the original Encre Noire, but I'm pretty situational with it and don't work in a climate controlled environment, so I probably have it better than most in that aspect. For me, it's the kind of fragrance for more serious times when the temps are chilly. Definitely not a fun and warm weather type of fragrance. All have to give the A L'Extreme flanker a shot first. 👍👍
Thank you for this video Peter! Great choices. I like the note of vetiver but more the fresh vetiver and the dirty vetiver only when I'm in the mood for it.
@@ScentTrail Wie witzig, damit habe ich jetzt überhaupt nicht gerechnet. Habe mir mit Hilfe deines Videos Grey Vetiver EDP gekauft und bin happy damit. Danke 🙏🏽
I used to love Guerlain's vetiver, i believe it has changed a bit, but...This is an 60-70's male scent. Old scent's wanted to impose themselves on the surroundings. I prefer Tom Ford's Grey vetiver, for being more discreet, but the price is ridiculous. In the end it's Encre noir for me. Too intrucive fro my tastes, but the only affordable Vetiver that exists.
@@ScentTrail thank u very much for your time I think I will do that and thanks for replying most off the other fragrances reviewers don’t even bother, I have just scribed to your channel many thanks again 🇬🇧
Great video. Vetiver is a great note. I have Guerlain vetiver and Extreme. I prefer the original- more complex and interesting. I’d say the main difference is a hint of licorice in the extreme. Performance is better w/ original, on my skin.
Love Vetiver. My favorite scents are Mugler’s cologne (much better than Creed), Grey Vetiver from Tom Ford, Vetiver from Loccitane (discontinued unfortunately) and my all time favorite is Haitian Vetiver from Zegna. I like the Guerlain one but not on me. Another solid one is Commodity Vetiver.
Hi Peter, somehow I never really liked vetiver. I tried Encre Noir and found it terrible, I tried TF Grey Vetiver... nah. The only thing I kinda dig is TTerre d'Hermès, but even that one is not my favorite. What would be your recommended vetiver fragrance for someone not liking vetiver? 😅😅
15:05 very interesting that you think A L’Extreme smells like an expensive hotel lobby, because those are the literal words my wife used to describe the original EN! I expected here to hate it, but she liked it. She liked the A L’Extreme even more. To me, A L’Extreme smells like a shrine that had a lot of incense burning in it. The smell has a spiritual aspect to it.
Great video as always! Speaking of vetiver, I blindbought Aimez-Moi Comme Je Suis by Caron recently and it's awesome. Vetiver in this fragrance smells clean. Just like the vetiver in TF Grey Vetiver. Overall, it smells like 50% vetiver, 30% Tonka bean, and 20% hazelnut. The more I wear it, the more I love it.
@@ScentTrail I think it behooves a collector and connoisseur such as yourself to give it a sniff, it's got a creaminess that I don't often find in vetivers
Forgive me, I know these are ridiculous questions before i ask: 1. What makes Guerlain Vetiver smell a bit like bug spray to me? I don't have this feeling in other vetiver fragrances. 2. 1:15 What does "Nuance" mean here? The dictionary explains it as "a very slight difference in something", I don't quite understand, is this correct?
No worries, I don't think any questions are ridiculous. Guerlain Vetiver most likely uses more than one kind of vetiver . Haitian for instance is fresher and Javanese is more dusty and has hints ( nuances ) of Wood. Hope it helps.
Great list and I enjoyed it and Guerlain Vetiver and Tom Ford Vetiver and Terre de Hermes eau intense Vetiver and I'm going to try the other fragrances and have a blessed day
The Guerlain is wonderful, and for me it’s a beast. I have several Guerlain fragrances, and the vetiver lasts well above average.
For me too. I have to "underspray" with that one. 3-4 sprays max and even then I fear I might be choking someone.
One of my favorites for a low price is Rasasi Fattan, smells like a greener version of TdH, amazing scent
Great list ,guerlain vetiver is always in my collection
One of my favorites 😉

So true,
If I don't know what to wear. I can always reach for a Guerlain and be happy 🌞
I’ve been wearing TdH Eau Intense Vetiver lately. Really enjoy that one

I'm wearing Sultan Vetiver today, love the transition it goes through. Haven't tried Nocturne, how is it?
I really liked the hermes intense and fat electrician
I need to try the Fat Electrician.
How is it?

Give xx Artisan varvatos a look.
Has Tom Ford vetiver vibes.
And is available for a good price online. 😉
Great list. But i prefer the og encre noir over the extrem. The incense note in the latter ruins the whole vibe for me
Thanks for watching 🤜
Great review I’ve been thinking about getting into vetiver and this has helped me as I’m looking for an entire level vetiver 👌🏻🇬🇧
Thanks Michael 👊
@@ScentTrail no thank u 👌🏻
@@ScentTrail can I ask u one question please out off all them fragrances in the videos which one would u recommend for a vetiver newbie lol
I really like them all, but if I had to pick just one I'd go with the Guerlain Vetiver.
Beautiful for anytime really.
Also the price is nice 🌞

Thanks Jean ,
Guess I'll pick it up if I find it for a deal somewhere 🤙
Another interesting Guerlain that features vetiver is L’Homme Boisé. It’s got some iso-E super, but very well-blended as is typical for Guerlain.
Yes ,I do have that one . Beautiful
Fragrance. 🤙
My favorite fragrance channel
Thank you Cheesy Chester!
Very nice of you 🙌
Essential perfumes - bois imperial. Fantastic vetiver with pepper and akiagalawood, beast performance and great price
Good one from Quentin Bisch .
Im out😪 time to repurchase. 🤪
Thanks for watching 👍
Im trying to come to a decision between original veviter and tom ford vetiver parfum.
Where's the Sultan Vetiver by Nishane? You'd probably love that one.
Sultan Vetiver is awesome, however, one has to be a real Vetiver lover, it easily can be to much for the average consumer.
My Favourite Vetiver is Sycomore by Chanel. It is also my most complimented fragrance. Great!
Im still saving up for that beauty 😂
Thanks for watching 🙌
@@ScentTrail gladly bought a 200ml Bottle before they gone up in price 50,00€😀

I like Bvlgari Man extreme.
Vetiver as a underlying note.
Nicely done.😉

Which would you chose for fall/winter/spring more formal occasions - Tom Ford Grey Vetiver, Guerlain Vetiver Parfum, or Dior Eau Sauvage Parfum?
That's a tough one.
Depends on the occasion.
Younger Tom Ford
Older Eau Sauvage
Classy Guerlain
Thanks for watching
hi there !! i really like to tray buing creed to give to my husband on his birtday !! but as i mencioned before the vetiver smell hummmm not sure !!
Hi Dolly,
Creed has many amazing fragrances. A popular one is Aventus and Green Irish Tweed.
Look through my videos. 🌞
Have you tried Vetiver extraordinaire FM? Any thoughts?
My FM collection is non-existent. 😕 It has been on my mind to gather a few. I'll keep my eyes out for Vetiver Extraordinaire. Thanks for the tip.🙌
Have you tried PdM Byerley, it's a creamy vetiver that sort of smells like when you open the drawer of an old dresser at a consignment shop.
My collection of PDM is lacking in size 😫 Is it worth looking at?
@@ScentTrail I think it behooves a collector and connoisseur such as yourself to give it a sniff, it's got a creaminess that I don't often find in vetivers
Sounds nice 👌 thanks for the tip.
Creed Original Vetiver smells great. However!!!! It is a shocking performer. And for the money its simply unforgivable.
True, that performance could be better. Thanks for watching and happy holidays. 🤜
