It was widely reported that the network absolutely loved Cody when he was in AEW. Every major wrestling company has been shit for years, WCW was amazing in the early to mid 90's, WWF/E was the best from 1997 to 2003, and TNA was excellent from 2006 through 2010. But in general I'd say that after 2003 or 2004 pro wrestling was no longer what it once was and the death of kayfabe with the rise of social media was the final nail in the coffin.
Doubt we will ever see anything like the Monday Night Wars ever again. I used to flip channels back and forth all the time as a teenager between Raw and Nitro and the best of the best wrestled for both companies back then. The competition and rosters were unmatched and it was just must watch television.
I turn on RAW these days and it's all just stupid for the most part with 3 minute matches, retarded promos, and forever champions.
Not sure how to fix it though, booking has a lot to do with it and has been lacking for a long time and the writing is just facepalm material. Doubt Punk's washed-up ass will do anything to change it either.

I didn't realize we had close and personal acquaintences of Punk here in the comments section; Cool!
And you know this for certain? Eh, maybe, or maybe not... He had a working relationship with W.W.E. Backstage and Fox Sports 1 without issue as far as we know and that same thing carries over to various film, and t.v. appearances and his role doing commentary for M.M.A. which is the whole reason for him having a good relationship with T.K.O. in the first place, following and including his short stint in the U.F.C... With no infamous blow ups to speak of that I'm aware of...
I imagine, as long as a string of mid card talent aren't habitually trying to throw Punk under the bus with the dirt sheets, or provoke Punk into a shoot on live t.v, or refuse to lose to him without squashing him first.... Or shoot-dunk on him during P.P.V.'s *and all without* the direct intervention of administrative leadership getting a handle on the situation or it's talent.... Then, Punk's shelf-life at W.W.E. is probably going to be a good bit longer than it was at A.E.W... Which... Don't underestimate Punk's pettiness... I wouldn't be surprised to see him on good bahavior just for the sake of making it work out of spite. All that said, Trips and W.W.E. as a whole, have a much tighter leash on their talent and how that talent interacts inside and outside of the ring, and/or are more prone to enforce consequences for poor behavior whether that would be from Punk, or from youngsters and no-draws trying to cut the wind out of his sails.
And if the s*** *does* hit the fan, then that will be entertaining to.

@@justinmichaels7856why are you the fan of a company that allows their EVPs to fight regular employees in the back, then allows you guys to go rogue and see whatever the heck they want. Going off script messing up everything costing you money, then allowing your job guys to again cost you more money by running off your main event guys and one of your ex-EVPs? This sounds like a company that I would never want to work for and that I hope would go out of business. You have people punching each other in the heads backstage because they can't get along. Also the drama there you hear something every single week about oh I don't like this or I don't like that. Heck even Tony's employees don't like the guy as seen on Twitter because they're all complaining about their time or not getting to do stuff or not being on TV or wanting to leave.

If AEW loses its network deal Dave Meltzer should take some part of the responsibility for making it happen he is the one the one that started the whole drama between CM Punk and AEW all because his boys the Cucamonga Kids couldn't deal with the fact that there where not as over as CM Punk was so they started the whispering campaign against Punk with Dave help they use him like a stooge and he went along with it and now AEW may paid for consequences of it also all of the youtubers that be parroting everything Dave reports should also take part of the blame

Imagine if TK being a Punk Superfan is true. That means when Punk dropped that Pipebomb, he was one of those dudes that was saying “FUCK WWE!” Then somehow someway, TK not only manages to start a fed but he also managed to hire his favorite wrestler. Fast forward a year and you managed to piss off your favorite wrestler to the point that he makes amends with WWE. At the end of the day, Punk made up with WWE and it’s the Superfan, TK’s, fault. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Tony legitimately had every tool to take down WWEs monopoly available to him and he was too soft to do what Vince did in the 90’s and become a ruthless businessman.
He let all of these idiots step all over him just so he could play booker and now his company is on the backburner of tv networks..

Speaking of Punk, Tony and AEW, isn't there a TV deal expiring for young Mr. Khan? I heard WWE is trying to get a deal done with Warner Brothers Discovery, and there's no way Vince, Paul and Nick are doing anything other than an exclusive deal. Without a network, they're WCW in 2001. A worthless company with a lot of overpaid employees and no national TV network to put them on. If WWE has USA, FSN and the Turner networks, where do they go that is national? Do ABC, NBC and CBS do that sort of thing or just syndication when it comes to wrestling? I'm not aware of the new rules. I haven't watched wrestling regularly in over 20 years, but I do check in occasionally.

Well WWE are doing some type of Saturday Nights Main Event specials for NBC a couple of times next year, it will be the first time wrestling has been on MBC since the old Main Event, so I doubt they will be gunning for AEW and I don’t see ABC/Disney wanting them, and CBS just doesn’t feel like a good fit so I think AEW is kinda screwed

I’ve given up on AEW; they’re finished as far as I’m concerned.
I had hope when Danielson came in as a badass, cocky and confident heel. That hope was crushed in about one month.
I had hope when Punk had a great feud with MJF, and when he was booking Hobbs like a huge badass and setting up Starks to win the ‘real AEW Title’. That hope was smashed when Tony feared for his life, obliterated when Marko Danielson buried Starks by beating him 3-0 in a series of gimmick matches and when Hobbs joined the Phallus Family with Takeshita (another guy AEW would push if they were smart).

WWE now have 2 “Prime Vinces” lol, in a sense that they don’t care about anything else but to make the product better and to grow it and make more money. Triple H would do anything to make the product better but also Nick Khan has been a monster ever since he came to WWE. Both of these guys don’t care about feelings getting hurt, don’t care about people drama and personal issues, if they think that it will make the product better and/or expand the company and bring them more money, they will do it. Nick Khan is the only real businessman in pro-wrestling today. He always tried to make WWE bigger, feel more special, do the big stadiums and the big international shows. And also is smart enough to know that CM Punk brings the company more revenue, so he doesn’t give a fuck about what anybody says, he’s gonna bring him to his company and do big boy business. They had to do the Smackdown negotiations, so they gad the Bloodline there, LA Knight started to become a draw and they even had the Rock open a show. They had to do the NXT negotiations so they brought all the big guns to NXT to push the ratings and give the best product possible to the people and for the TV networks that they were negotiating with. Now they have to do the RAW negotiations so the already have Cody and the bring fucking CM Punk back to push the ratings, deliver a better product etc. Triple H and Nick Khan have the big boy pants on and they do big boy business. Only if the other Khan was half as good as them…
