I am studying to be become a maritime officer and the difference between what the hotel/entertainment side packs and what we at the nautical side pack is HUGE.. I pack a 40L backpack for 5 months wahahah. but it makes sense, you have to actually see people and we're just hidden away at the bridge all day. nonetheless this is still a nice video for me
Katherine very nice video And I really loved your attitude in this adventure but I didn’t get one thing You sad you are joining to the Disney Wish which is located in Germany and where you will be starting from May But if I saw announcements which sad the first cruises on the Disney Wish are starting in July 2022 So my question is what are suppose to do in Germany from May until July ( when finally the cruise starts ) Is opened to the guests before July? I don’t guess you are doing 2 months of training. Please let me know because I am very curious about it and I keep following your videos.
Hello thank you for getting in touch and thank you for watching! I'm sorry I think there must have been some communication mix ups, I would love to be working on the Disney Wish, but in this contract I was going to work on SAGA, a different cruise line where I was starting my contract in July. If you have any more questions please do let me know :)
You underfilled the cubes, roll tightly and neatly into cubes that are the correct size for the width or length of the rolled item ... for example fold then roll tops and use that rolled item as a guide for the cube you use, you should NEVER use the big cubes when packing to go away, save them for storage at home. I have never seen so many toiletries surely you can buy items as you go along in supermarkets/chemists etc.. solid toiletries are a life saver for long term packing so much lighter, smaller and not a liquid so can be easily stored in hand luggage... I see why you packed that many clothes though, you could have done away with the large case had you packed better, i wanted to jump into the screen and do it for you lol! it was making me anxious watching you waste so much space in the HUGE capacity of the massive amount of luggage you took x
Hey, thank you for all your advice! Unfortunately my cases also had to be under a certain weight, and when I over packed the cubes it took the cases over! I definitely didn't need to bring as many toiletries with me! I have learnt from that mistake! It's all a learning curve!
@@katherinemyers587 It would be the same weight LOL! you fill small and medium cubes to their full extent and you use less cubes, large cubes take up a huge volume in a case or bag, you turn cubes on their sides or ends and you then can take a smaller case and that weighs less to begin with .. also you can take the same amount of toiletries but you measure the amount you use per day and multiply it by the days you are going, you choose tiny jars, bottles, spray bottles etc.. you only need 10mls of perfume for a two week holiday and if you look at the size of for example a foundation bottle it is heavy and too big, i use drops at the moment and 6 drops is fine for a full face of foundation and the bottle is 18mls but made of glass so if i got a tiny bottle or jar and put a bit more than i think i need i wouldn't use the whole bottle and we usually tan on holiday too so take one tiny container of the usual colour and another one with a darker shade .. 100mls is enough shampoo for 6 hair washes and the list goes on..solid body wash is amazing and one tiny bar lasts well over a month and there are tonnes of other ways to downsize... in essence underfilling large cubes take up far more room and it defeats the object of using them ... so get thinner fabic ones and slimmer profile and measure the size of the neat tightly rolled sausage shape so folding my cami tops and rolling them i can fit 6/8 into a large sandwich bag but you choose the cube it fits the length or width perfectly and do two layers or more so it does up but it is full! i packed 8 pairs of mens shorts into a small cube this week! i packed enough clothes for my son who is over six foot for at least two weeks into a nike small duffle bag!
@@tijay8507 you definitely sound like a packing pro! I had never packed for a 5 month contract before so I wasn’t sure how much stuff I was going to need / I was also planning on buying stuff when I was away so I know I needed extra space in my packing cubes to fit the new bits in! But thank you for all your advice ☺️
@@katherinemyers587 Then i would pop a couple of ziplock bags and a spare cube and you can squeeze the air out of the bags on the dirty stuff and on the way home.. I had to start packing light and right as my health declined and i struggled with big cases over packed and it made travelling a misery ... i picked up so many tips and hacks and i got better and better.. If you ever need any help hit me up on this thread and i would be MORE than happy to help with sourcing containers or help with anything to do with shopping, packing, dancing or anything human biology or medical lol ... xxx

Hey, thank you for watching! I wish I could get away with taking a 40L backpack haha! It's the formal dresses that end up taking up all the space! ;")
Your are so organised. Love this vlog ❤️❤️
Aww thank you ☺️ glad you enjoyed!
Nice. Can you insert the suitcases into each other? Or how do you store 3 suitcases in the cabin if you share with someone?

Im part of the entertainment team, I member of the cruise staff ☺️
