The film has stayed with me for years. As someone who grew up in the projects in Brooklyn (and spent time with my aunt in the South Bronx), it hit close to home, as I knew guys like Fresh. Disney (by way of Miramax) had double massive balls putting this film out. Sean Nelson & the criminally underrated Giancarlo Esposito were totally snubbed of oscar nominations.
Totally agree! This being out of by Disney is pretty crazy. Sean Nelson 100% deserved an Oscar for this. Such a great performance. Giancarlo is just a god. He’s not the God but he’s most def a god.
Thank you so much for this review! It was highly entertaining and informative. Great perspectives! This was very helpful for my Critical Film Analysis paper.
When I first watched this movie I was so young and when he killed the dog stuck with me but I couldn't remember the name until I asked some people at my job if they remembered. I watched it again... and again and again and recommended it to others. Reminds me of my dad.
We should be thanking you! A fantastic film, I can absolutely see why it’s one of your favorites! Thank you for the great request…I’m glad we did you proud.
@@KisstheReviews The Corner and The Wire were writer and produce by the ame people. The Corner tells the story of how drugs hurt one family, while The Wire is the story of how crime and corruption hurt a city. Both shows take place in Balitmore, Maryland. The is also another show that goes along with these two NBC Homicide : Life on the Street.
@KisstheReviews Great review of a phenomenal movie. I remember seeing it for the first time after Samuel L. Jackson's career blew up after Pulp Fiction the same year. What a performance by Sean Nelson! What a cast! What great storytelling! Consider reviewing the French prison thriller, A Prophet. Directed by Jacques Audiard, starring Tahar Rahim. It's like if Fresh and Shot Caller had a French baby.
Light It Up is on the list! Have your friends sub and request it too!! The more requests a movie has, the faster we review it. *Yes, we are shameless whores like that. 😂
Just tried to watch this movie. I couldn't take anymore when the kid hung the dog by its neck to choke him and shoot him up with bullets for no reason. Too far for me...disturbing. thumbs down

That ending scene was always so powerful 😢 he was holding them tears in for awhile.
Dude…for real!
The "dope moves" dialog was very necessary because it shows how dumb he was.
Very true…but so annoying. Thank you for commenting!

When you were talking about the chucky kid I died laughing. 🤣 I've never wanted to knock a kid out so bad in my life I was happy when..... nvm.
We are in total agreement with you. 😂 #MercyKill

Yeah, this movie is different! Still haven’t seen anything like it.
Killing the dog was it too much for me... it already had disturbing scenes...it's a no for me...could not stomach it after that
So happy someone finally did a review on this movie this kid is also easily my favorite protagonist
Thank you! Totally agree. Fresh is one of the best movies we’ve reviewed. Thanks for commenting.

I bust those dope moves. Good movie. Why why why did fresh kill the dog at the end???
😂😂 Fair question
Chuckie is the living embodiment of Watch who you keep for friends!

Thank you very much!! The French Prisoner has been added to our list!
19:01 - and even after they left Fresh hyped Chuckie up. I'm not sure why he did that instead of putting him in his place.
I think bc Fresh knew he needed Chuckie to play a role for his plan to work out. Fresh moved him around like a chess piece.
Love the show. Can you guys do a review of La Haine from 1995?

Y’all white boys cool asl, I was expecting some over dramatic analysis 😭😭😭🤞🏽

It’s a rough scene and unfortunately true to life but try to fast forward through next time. The rest of the film is worth it.
Can you do a review on love jones?
Absolutely! Love Jones has been added to the list!! Thanks for the request.
Hi....can you review "CB4" and "Fear of a Black Hat"😘

House Guest! Wow!! I haven’t thought about that movie in decades…😂
