Even though Gondor have lost a few units I really feel they have become far more effective in Sieges, they were always pretty competent but they're a real powerhouse now.
I remember it being said back in the day that armor upgrades, despite showing as a one point bump in the UI, actually have the effect of a two point bump. Did that change? Was that ever actually true? If it is true, then upgraded Gondorian units are chunkier than they look purely on the stats menu.

Since Silmarillion: Total War has its faction and unit rosters completed and finalized, will you eventually make faction overviews for that mod?

That's currently my understanding as well, based on conversations with people in the know.

@stevengarcia2283 they were removed due to roster bloat and their model was given to the Osgiliath Veterans as their gold level armor upgrade.
The models were given to the regular gondor archers as a golden armour upgrade
Shame, I don’t know why but I really have a thing for archer units who use a two handed sword in melee
