- I Explored the Bada Imambara in Lucknow, and Its Hidden Mysteries Left Me in Awe
Do I REGRET Living In India? - • 12 Months In INDIA, Wa...
The Bada Imambara, nestled in the heart of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, is a grand architectural marvel that reflects the opulence and cultural richness of the Nawabi era. Built in 1784 by Nawab Asaf-ud-Daula, this monumental complex was not just a symbol of piety but also an extraordinary act of compassion during a devastating famine. It provided employment to thousands, embodying the Nawab’s vision of combining utility with artistry.
One of the most intriguing features of the Bada Imambara is the Bhool Bhulaiya, a labyrinth of narrow passages and interconnected corridors. Designed to confuse and disorient, this maze is an architectural wonder, offering both a thrilling experience and a glimpse into the genius of the engineers who created it. The Bhool Bhulaiya adds an air of mystery to the Imambara, and navigating its complex network is an adventure that captivates visitors of all ages.
Local legends and folklore surround the Bada Imambara, adding to its mystique. It is said that the Nawab intended the Imambara to serve not only as a place of worship but also as a refuge in times of crisis. Some believe that secret tunnels connect the Imambara to distant locations, including the Gomti River, though these passages remain shrouded in mystery.
The monument’s aesthetic appeal is further enhanced by the grand Rumi Darwaza, an iconic gateway that serves as the entrance to the Imambara complex. Modeled after the gates of Istanbul, the Rumi Darwaza is a testament to the fusion of Indian and Persian architectural influences. Nearby, the Shahi Baoli, a stepwell with an ingenious design, reflects the advanced engineering and water management techniques of the time.

Bro ..
Keep in mind that you are visiting UP in midst of first anniversary of ram mandir inauguration and mahakumbh days ..UP is now packed with devotees literally in millions so try not to expect too much
Are we still in Lucknow? That place is so chaotic! I am getting stressed out watching this video 😂
Even that heritage site has trash!
Guys, do something to clean up your city, please 🙏🏻
That's because he visited the old city of Lucknow known for a certain kind of public.. that's exactly like visiting Old Delhi, Chandni chowk, staying in pahaarganj & judging all of Delhi. Lucknow literally has a whole lot to offer on the other side of the Gomti river, the new Lucknow. There are huge parks with lakes & trees, Ekana Cricket stadium, Lucknow Metro train, Golf cities, rich housing areas, gated communities, huge malls, dedicated food streets like chappan in MP, fountains & calm walkways on the Gomti river front etc. It's the capital of the largest state in India, there's no way you can judge it by seeing a select few places. Also the host(girl) seems to have an affinity with the filthy old city.. if i was hosting a friend i would have shown them an entirely different side of Lucknow.
@@NitinSwaroop really? I didn’t know that. Why do people always go to these chaotic areas and ignore the nice areas ?
Who is his host? These kind of people are the worst.
It’s unfortunate people land in the bad area and claim that’s Lucknow. I really believed him coz he’s not one of those guys who deliberately goes to a bad area just to badmouth.
Anyway, we will have to clean up both old Delhi & old Lucknow! Need redevelopment projects just like Dharavi.
Why go to a place at all if you only want to see trash?
Why you didn't go to Ujjain?? you were just few kms away to Ujjain
@@XYzayant I did go to Ujjain, but there was some issues which resulted in me not captured footage of Mahakaleshwar, I will go back to Madhya Pradesh very soon, she is a beautiful state and there is so much to see.
I love Lucknow. Its an old city with so many tales to tell & alot of good food to try.
nice one bhai! If I ever want to dress up I know where to go in Lucknow.
❤
Everyone seems to live in their own world
Unfortunately, the north is more chaotic, and polluted than Southern states. Just my observation, having lived up north for 5 years.
It is not 'unfortunate', The northern plains have fertile soil and an abundance of fresh water; this is why it was a preferred location for ancestors. Cities like Bangalore and Chennai are facing water scarcity, and many other places in India might face the same issue, but the northern plains will not face such problems soon. Easy crop cultivation and connectivity to the capital add to the value of the northern cities. We are lucky to be sons of the northern soil.
@@shreyanshtiwari2430 true!
True, there's no need to apologize for our wonderful Blessed country. I'm tired of this guy always being cynical and criticizing and mocking my country and it's people. Just Go back home Fozzie or whatever your name may be!
Kid stop generalising.
Have you ever been to Himachal?
This is how muslims will grow in Australia bro . When you come back here.😂😂😂😂😂
Ok enough. Let’s go to Kerala, Hampi, Himachal, Meghalaya, Ladhak, Uttarakhand…
South has better architecture. Tamil Nadu has fantastic temples, but the place is not as clean. But, definitely better than UP.
