Thanks. I am crap fixing stuff around the house. I managed to follow this and change a plug to the surprise of my wife. Thank for a great simple to follow video.
Many thanks. One of the plug pins on my upright Dyson vacuum broke off. It’s a moulded on plug, I thought my vacuum was now nil and void. You’ve saved the day🙏🏾😀, they’re darn expensive them dysons, can’t afford to just throw it out, I knew there must be a way. Thanks again.
One tug on the cord and you'll pull one of the wires off the pin terminals, there is a plastic grip that is there to prevent this but in this video the wires were too long for the flex cable to be pushed forward and properly secured
Thanks so much for this! Need to feed a wire through a hole that the plug wouldn’t fit through so will now be able to remove the plug and put it back together!
Can I do this to my washing machine plug? Fuse has completely blown out and is black, i got a rewireable plug from a fan I dont use but both are 13amp 250V.
If the washing machine fuse was 13Amp then the replacement fuse should also be 13Amp. Always use the recommended fuse rating for the appliance. If the same happens again then there may be an issue with your washing machine
@@DrivewayDudes update, ive done it now and works perfectly, the fuse just blew out and rendered the plug unusable. This'll save me a bit of money! Cheerio!
The live and neutral are too long. There should be a piece of card that comes with the new plug that is a cutting guide. The earth should be the longest because in the event that the cable gets pulled out it should be the last connection to break. Leaving them all the same length runs the risk of the inner cores coming out the bottom of the plug and if they get pulled out there is the danger of a short circuit if the plug is still in the socket outlet.
Thanks. So helpful for the rest of us whose dad doesnt teach them these

Whats brand? Where is made in?
There's no earth wire in my vacuum cleaner cable. Can I still proceed safely?
I damaged one of the pins, can you use the old fuse in the new socket?
Can I do this to my laptop power pack?
