This song was released when Cillian Murphy was 18, and two years before Scream came out. Loved how there was so much of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds in Peaky blinders. I have listened to this album for almost 20 years now. It's one of my favorites of all their stuff.
Peaky Blinders? Scream? Surely you mean X-Files: Songs in the Key of X. I think it's cool that the phrase "red right hand" is something the poet Horace and Milton used. All that being said, this song feels like the 60's to me.
Scream was before Peaky Blinders, but it was used in X-Files before Scream, and it was also in X-Files before it was in Dumb and Dumber, by about two months- the episode it was used in was aired October of 1994, Dumb and Dumber came out in December of that year, and Scream was released in 1996. As far as I can tell, X-Files was the first film/TV franchise to use it.
RIP to Wes Craven. Your films will live on forever.

It’s sad seeing all these people say this song is by order of peaky blinders when scream used it first
They probably never saw Scream. It happens.
Dumb and Dumber did it first before ANY of them
@@MrMonkeyswordfightbut dumb and dumber can’t really be “cool” like scream or porky blinders can. Dumb and dumber is still funny as shit
