  • I haven't lost on any of the higher difficulties yet, but 8 hp scares me. Wanted to use some new characters, but starting with a weapon with shelling on Marco is so nice. I've considered starting in a different area, as Big Shie has been a problem lately, but I think It's just not having a lot of abilities yet, so all bosses would be rough.

I think the team I used for the Captain Difficulty run is very strong. I like the Explosive Leader loadout for Marco, because the most dangerous things early on are vehicles (tanks and missile launchers), so doing double damage with your primary weapon is great. Leona is great because you can make a bunch of afterimages to help with sync attacks. I’d recommend the loadout with the Molotov cocktail, because the area of effect and being able to throw it over obstacles/enemies/teammates helps you get in on more sync attacks. Trevor’s Perfect Control loadout is good. The knife does a ton of damage, and he has abilities that give you bonus actions if the enemy isn’t defeated, so you can do two attacks on high health targets to take them down. Mind control is also useful, because it prevents two or the enemies from attacking you.
You’re still going to have to get a little lucky with level ups, as everyone needs a little extra boost to really start clearing out the big enemies. Passives that give a stacking damage bonus, bonus moves, or bonus actions should be your top priority if your character doesn’t start with them. Weapon mods on your primary weapon can be incredibly helpful too. Instigator mods (+ damage on triggered sync attacks) can help a ton (especially with Leona’s afterimages), velocity mods (bonus move for you and anyone you sync with after an attack) to reposition for more sync attacks, and straight damage boost mods all can make a huge difference.
