Armenian people are Middle Eastern not Caucasian, although our republic is located in the Caucasus, but we have nothing to do with Caucasian people. We are Indo-European people. We are highlanders of the Middle East. Our historical homeland is in the Middle East. Note: This song is so famous among Assyrians, who are Middle Eastern as well. I think even "shirkhani" is in Aramaic, but as I don't know the language, I am not sure.
