Tristan, since strike detection is so important to this style of fishing, have you considered making a video concentrating on the topic? Often I find it very difficult to see the subtle takes. Many videos have the leader and/or line obscured by cluttered backgrounds. Often the lighting is suboptimal to see the line on most hits. On rare occasions, the line stands in bright sunlight, and is highlighted by a dark background, then you can SEE those soft takes! I know it’ll be difficult, but if you ever hit the optimal video conditions, please consider teaching us all about strike detection. Thanks for all the wonderful videos!
When I tell people about your channel, this is the kind of stream I describe that you love...6" trout in a 5' wide creek. Fine work. Bill from Kentucky.
I don’t know if you read your comments but thank you for showing this rod. I got mine in yesterday and wow this is exactly what I was looking for for these hard to cast north Georgia mountain streams. The finish is a little rough compared to my other rods. But I got the 6:4 and I’m a fast tip person. Like them on my tenkara and standard fly rods. As small as it is it has a nice handle and was not a after thought. This is a great birthday present and can’t wait to use it. I have just the creek to try it out on.
When I was a kid, probably before your parents were born, I would fly fish all over the northern side of the Uinta Mountains. Nice and peaceful back then, not many people would go to the Uintas. I hope you’re not insulted when I say that I kind of enjoy this channel a bit more than your other one. But it’s like comparing dark chocolate to milk chocolate, love them both, just would slightly prefer dark.
I went fishing on the Ogden River today at 11:30 yea its to late in the day, to many other anglers out on the river. No luck........ However, who doesn't like being out in nature.
That was a beautiful little creek! When I was young I always passed on fishing trips for a bit more adventure. I aways said then, "I'll go fishing when I'm older." Well I'm much older now and your fishing channel has really piqued my interest in tenkara. The techniques are very cool and I love the minimalism of the gear. The creeks you pull fish out of are amazing. I'm really glad you mentioned your fishing channel on SUV RVing! I'm sold!
Beautiful location and Brook Trout. If possible you should try to get out to north central PA in the state forests for truly native and beautiful Brook Trout in woodland locations that will take your breath away..
Not sure I can add anything to the other comments , awesome little creek , plenty of fish to catch , not a soul in sight . Not sure how it could get much better ! Maybe an ice cold brew and great cigar waiting back at camp 🙂👍👍
I'm heading up into that area soon for some tenkara fishing. I love fishing those lakes, but I haven't tried the rivers and creeks before. The area you're in looks like the upper Provo near the Provo River Falls.
Congratulations on a great day of fishing!! The fun is infectious lol! There's a creek almost identical to that one here. Terrain and fish... Enjoy the day Tristan 🤙🏻
Great video as always. Exploring new creeks, where other guys think it's to small to fish, is great. I think you've improved your archery skills. I had a filling, you've been shooting more than casting the fly😉
Tristan, I noticed you had on hip waders. What kind are they and what boot do you use with them. Thanks again for sharing your fishing experiencewith us. It is a very different environment than where I fish in PA.
you're great at reading the water, from what I see you hit ALL the right spots... if you give Cassie that rod she has 1 less excuse to not go with you... LOL
You really do find some great creeks👍🏼 Sometimes you mention places that don’t work out… would you be opposed to showing those? Curious for comparison what some of the ‘not so great’ water you come across looks like. Take care!
Just came across your videos and Tenkara fishing looks fun I would want to give it a try. What flies do you use? Do you use indicators or are the flies dry flies and you set the hook when you see the fish bite, or is it all based on feeling?
Any tips on bow and arrow casting? Do you hold the hook bend or a few inches up the tippet? Seems like the latter with how quickly you set yourself up without hooking your fingers.
Tristan, I've been binge watching your videos again...question. I never see u use fly floatant. Do you? Or are tenkara Flys more like a wet way? It seems like they ride down in the film rather on top by their design. I'm jonesing to fish..
Just today I am rigging up an external battery source for pass through power to my GoPro (which I will mount to the back of my hat believe it or not) because I am tired of switching batteries and batteries failing. Looks like you are using normal battery power - do you have frustrations with it?
Hey I’m in Utah and I’ve recently started Tenkara. I’ve fly fished for a year or two but I have a ton to learn about both. Do you have any area suggestions? You find so many new creeks I’m sure you found the cheat code for them. Any decent area to start with in Utah that won’t steal your honey holes?
Sorry, I can't give out suggestions to people. There are both tenkara and fly fishing groups about fishing in Utah. I'd suggest joining one of those and asking around.
try Utah tight lines or high mountain anglers. Most wont tell you a name of a creek but they will help you get fish by telling you flies to use, times , and general locations, etc... Once you have been there a while you will make some friends and that is how you get the creek names. Its all about trust and exploring. Just like these videos find a blue line on the map grab your rod and check it out.
Gotta love how easy fish throw flies, but trees and shrubs hold on for dear life.

Yeah, I keep looking for those white arrows that say ‘fish’, but I never see any…
Beautiful little creek - love those tiny stair-step waters! Well done - and thanks!
Thanks for watching!
What a gorgeous little creek! It's almost like you're fishing in a painting.
When I tell people about your channel, this is the kind of stream I describe that you love...6" trout in a 5' wide creek. Fine work. Bill from Kentucky.
the Uintas are great - the lake fishing is what rly shines in that range imo. Great vid.
great stuff. the tripod shot was a nice addiction
What a perfect little stream, great video as always. Your excitement about the stream was nice to see!
As always thanks for showing the fly pattern when you change flies .. I am glad these fish love all you patterns. Thanks
Those little Brook Trout are so pretty. As is the creek. I love watching your fish. I might even try fly fishing.

Another great video Tristan. Really enjoyed your enthusiasm when fishing these small out-of-the-way creeks. Thanks again.
Thanks! This is my favorite kind of stream to fish, so it's not hard for me to get excited!
Beautiful creek! Loved the non POV shots! Well done, thanks!

I'd like to get out there eventually!
Great fishin’ thanks for bringing us along!
You are definitely in your element. You are very passionate about your craft, very infectious to those who want to learn.
That's great to hear! And yeah, I could fish little creeks like this for the rest of my life and be completely happy.
I don't see the purpose of fishing for minnows? Where's the fighting fish?
This is now one of my favorite vids from you! Love this creek you found! Noticed that you tried 3rd person view footage which was nice!
Yeah I do try to do it occasionally. It's annoying lol.
Awesome creek, very picturesque
What a beautiful place to fish. It is amazing how many you caught.
You could easily catch 100 fish in there if you spend the day at it!
You ever encounter bears. Because I have seen bears approach fisherman in WY & MT
Loved it! Thanks from Steilacoom, Washington!
Not sure I can add anything to the other comments , awesome little creek , plenty of fish to catch , not a soul in sight . Not sure how it could get much better ! Maybe an ice cold brew and great cigar waiting back at camp 🙂👍👍
my type of stream. gorgeous .

Lol yep! Thanks for watching.
@@TenkaraAddict No problem. I wait for your new video every Saturday. I wish you more creeks like this.
Nice job dude! What a cascading creek! Lol and you bet right! 2 brookies in that lil spot!
Thanks! Hard not to have a good time fishing a creek like this 😁
Tristan, I noticed you had on hip waders. What kind are they and what boot do you use with them. Thanks again for sharing your fishing experiencewith us. It is a very different environment than where I fish in PA.
Lovely creeks!
For sure!
Красивая река!
Very Cool little stream, Great Video, thanks for the Entertainment.
Thanks for watching!
you're great at reading the water, from what I see you hit ALL the right spots... if you give Cassie that rod she has 1 less excuse to not go with you... LOL
It's easy to hit all the right spots when they all have fish 😄
Dang that looked like Fun! Thanks for more great content!
Lots of fun, for sure!
You really do find some great creeks👍🏼 Sometimes you mention places that don’t work out… would you be opposed to showing those? Curious for comparison what some of the ‘not so great’ water you come across looks like. Take care!
So do you aim with the tip of the rod where you want the fly to land with that slingshot cast.
Just came across your videos and Tenkara fishing looks fun I would want to give it a try. What flies do you use? Do you use indicators or are the flies dry flies and you set the hook when you see the fish bite, or is it all based on feeling?
I guess these are run off streams that are below the snow line for most of the winter? Otherwise I can't see how they don't freeze solid
Heaven on earth and great fishing thanks for sharing your beautiful experiences 🌍🎣💚🌊💯💥🔥
Thanks for watching!
I spend t ons of time in the uintas, this looks so unfamiliar lol..
Any tips on bow and arrow casting? Do you hold the hook bend or a few inches up the tippet? Seems like the latter with how quickly you set yourself up without hooking your fingers.
Yes, perhaps you could make an instructional video.
Beautifu stream, I like fishing!
nice, was wondering about those rods, i have been looking for a rod higher than 8:2 like a 0X rod lots of large fish around my parts
Tristan, I've been binge watching your videos again...question. I never see u use fly floatant. Do you? Or are tenkara Flys more like a wet way? It seems like they ride down in the film rather on top by their design. I'm jonesing to fish..
Wet fly...oops..
For reference, I fished the Weber with a guynwho had the 7:3 sharpshooter and he was catching 18in browns on it.
I still find it amazing that any fish live in those little cricks !! Did you drive the new Toyota on this trip ?
I did, yes!
Your wife wants that rod. Does that mean there will be a 1v1 challenge video in the future?
Love your videos
Hey I'm curious to know which stream you fished in kane county utah?
I have done some Tenkara fishing in small creeks and, my experience, the fly type doesn't matter. The fish will go after anything I tie on.
Any further thoughts on the rod you used?
Very beautiful!!!
Really cool vid👍
Just today I am rigging up an external battery source for pass through power to my GoPro (which I will mount to the back of my hat believe it or not) because I am tired of switching batteries and batteries failing. Looks like you are using normal battery power - do you have frustrations with it?
No, I don't. I don't mind changing the batteries. I have 7 or 8 of them. Gives me a good excuse to get a drink of water.
Creeks like that would be a great "Ambience" video. Just set the camera up below one of those beautiful pools and let it record. #IdWatchIt
What line do u use on your rods

Find me in Measenger and I'll set you up on some awesome local creeks, and if you want I'll go with you and do what I can to teach you what I know.
@@kellywalker9268still fishing? I’m a noob and going out with somebody would be great.
Wow great.
Thanks!
where is this creek?
I mention generally where at the start of the video. I don't give specific names or locations.
@@TenkaraAddict way?
Oohhhh
👍
I have a toilet bowl, that has never been fished?
A stiff rod drops fish
A stiff rod drops small fish, yes, which is why I say the Foxfire (which is softer) would be a bit better in this stream.
Way to many lost fish. Maybe you need barbed hooks???
