- Our year comes to us in seasons-winter, spring, summer, and fall-as the earth makes its journey around the sun. Our spiritual life can sometimes be the same, especially when we allow sin to intrude. The warm, alluring breezes of temptation can sneak up suddenly and, if acted upon, can bring the cool chill of broken fellowship with God. None of us are immune from enticement but all of us should be informed. Today we see King David’s crash and burn in his battle with lust.
This teaching is from our series Crash & Burn with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Albuquerque.
Hi, pastor Skip Heitzig - I listen to your sermon each day on K-Wave (FM 107.9) when I drive to work from 6:30 AM to 7:00 AM. And I love listening and watching your sermons on RUclips too. Again, thank you for all your teaching. May GOD bless you and keep you always. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen 🙏
Great teacher! Many Blessings to you
Powerful sermon; nuggets of wisdom...
Love to listen to all your sermons, thanks.
I loved this study, except this was David’s sin not Bethsheba’s. God addresses David about it not Bethsheba. She was following the law by bathing after her menstrual cycle finished to cleanse herself. All the men in town were out in battle and she would’ve assumed King David to have been as well. As a woman in those days you had no choice especially when it came to the king but to follow orders and she did when he asked for her. Other than that everything else addressed in this sermon was spot on 🙌🏼
and the prophet Nathan portrays her as innocent in the next chapter.
Thank you for the message
Great teaching,as balanced both genders issues and responsibilities. Women need to understand, we can be attractive
Without trolling
Non of us is immune to sin.
May I ask, why did't God angry with David when he took wifes and concubines. It wasn't right according to the law, why did't God punish David for that ?
I really want to know so I can understand better
The devil makes use of idle hands
Sin is the most expensive thing in the world because it offends the Lord!
Just like a man to blame the woman!! Pastor do your homework! Bethsheba was doing what was required of the law, purifying herself after her period. 2000 years ago in the Middle East there were no such thing as modern bathrooms for privacy. Baths were put on the roof for exactly that purpose, privacy. She had no clue she would be seen and lusted after. So the king had view of all the roof tops because of the palace but any other home would not. It was David’s duty as the king to keep himself from temptation and abusing his position and power as an excuse to lust. Stop blaming the women for these men who choose to lust and live in debauchery. The typical misogynistic stuff out of the pulpit is just incredibly insulting.
