The Haydn quotation is verifiable as authentic. The often quoted but never verified Mozart one however is doubtful at best; it was not a contemporaneous account as it was reported over thirty years after Mozart’s death by a totally unreliable source who claimed Mozart visited CPE in Hamburg in 1789 (an impossibility), and of course makes little sense as there is almost no trace of CPE’s alleged paternity in the music of Mozart whatsoever, apart from a few isolated keyboard works.
C.P.E. Bach is an excellent composer and this composition touched my heart so easily since the first note and it made my day go so happy. Thanks for uploading.
