I never "like" videos. You're video was short and sweet and to the point. THANK YOU! It absolutely deserved the "like" I gave it.
Thanks! Appreciated.
You absolute Legend - Have just had that issue in the last 24 hrs. Tried bending the kinks out, but didn't work successfully so gave up in disgust. Then this pops up in my feed - YT needs to get out of my head!! 😂 Cheers mate - I'm now a subscriber!!
I'm so glad this helped. Soldering videos coming up next.
Excellent video! Useful content, simple, straightforward, to the point, not a word wasted, exactly how I like it. Please keep making videos like this!
Thanks for your comments. I too like short concise and informative videos, that's why I keep mine like that. No music, sponsorship, etc.
It's not easy to get everything done in a short time - it takes ages to edit - but I find it satisfying. I don't get money from RUclips videos so please like, etc.
Stay tuned for my soldering videos.
Simple, easy, informative and very direct video, thank you!
This is genius! Thank you for sharing this wisdom, Rich!
Huh... I'll have to save this on my favorites.
Wasn't expecting this level of greatness in such a short video 🤔
Thank you sooo much!
I promise to keep my next videos also short and informative. There will follow an update with all the questions answered. Stay tuned...
i really really dont care about kinks in the cables, but i love the format and i feel this channel will be useful in many other ways to me just by looking at this video.
Thank you for your hard work!!!!!
Thanks for your kind comments. Hard work, yes, I try to keep the videos sub-minute, but this can take hours!
Your presentation is a model of efficiency. Thank you.
It's kind of you to say so, much appreciated!
Yepp, this is what RUclips used to be.
A video that gives a straightforward answer to a common problem, without unecessary blah blah, intros, sponsors or whatever.
More of this!
Thanks!
An updated version coming soon with improvements, but still short and to the point.
This feels so much like old RUclips, I love it. Please make more videos in this style, I subscribed!
0:12 is that your psilocybe mushroom substrate?
Granola.
@@richardlangner why the magnifier?
@@turkeyphant Nice one. It's amazing that folk look into the background of a setting (I do it too) and pick up clues to whats going on. Magnifier and granola were shoved to one side to clear the bench.
Maybe I should leave contrived clues for people to figure out!
Proper answer - magnifier is used to work with electronic components too small for my aged eyes.
Soon to come will be a video where I solder 0603 components (0.06" x 0.03").
@@richardlangner haha thanks for the explanation :) Although I'd use a bowl for granola!
@@turkeyphant I graze on it dry, while I work (play).
You legend! Less than one minute, straight to the point, and a great tip 👍
you mean...one minute ...and then straight to the straight cable? 😁
Nostalgia just kicked in. No fast speaking (or rather screaming), asking to like and subscribe before even starting, sponsor break for nordvpn or unnecessary long explanation to fit another ad break in.
Thank you so much for reminding me of the good "old" days, before youtube was all about the money and fame. When it was about "broadcast yourself".
Have a nice day, Sir!
Thank you, appreciated.
I intend to keep the old-scool format as that's how I like to watch them.
Old's cool!
Brilliantly simple idea. I suspect leaving cable on the dashboard of a car parked in the Australian summer sun would work just as well - without the risk of wetting the plugs
Careful, no-one wants sunburnt, flaky USB cables.
Make sure to put 9n sunscreen first
Yep - and for longer cables like audio or power cables, a nice hot day and a concrete driveway. Lay them out and they will straighten on their own after a few hours. Got this trick from my sound lecturer
@@meaninglesskibble but....won't they have shriveled to be half the length😂
God, an actual short, succinct video? Less than a minute, and it's HELPFUL. Old school. Thank you
Such a clever way! Also it's better with hot water thanks to the more controllable temperature.
Thanks, did you see the updates?

I can't believe this is a new video from 2024 😂
Yes I do it 'old-school'.
No manic shouting, loud music, sponsors, etc. Straight to the point.
Taking youtube back to how it should be.
@@richardlangner Thank you for that
Really good advice. That is why i just love youtube.Always keeps me humble😔,because you just realise how much other people😎😇can teach you.
You are a champion of the internet my friend. Thank you for just showing the tip quickly and succinctly.
No sponsors, no affiliate links, no bs. Thank you 🎉
Thanks for the comment, lots of viewers said the same thing, so will make future videos this way, just like the old days, -- Old's cool.
Perfect video. Short, sweet, and it works. Thanks for posting.
Haven't tried it yet, but if it works, then bravo to you for a quick fix for something annoying!
If it's a PVC insulated cable, it should work.

I saw 0:58 and liked it immediately.
Seriously. This is how diy is done.
How cool! I have also used hot water to straighten mine! Although, ran them under hot water in the sink, but I think this method is better. Works like a charm!
yes...some say that a hot shower is more satisfying than a bath😂
I was caught by the title and as soon as you started speaking I thought ‘yeah with heat, but how to uniformly heat the wire. Well you sir thought a step further and this is genius. Thank you 👍
….As I write this post I’m thinking, I got a new kettle today and the wire really wants to just do its own thing and I’d like it to be as straight as possible. I’ll try it
@@ryanhall1343 Remember to keep the ends out of the water, and see ruclips.net/video/4pGsR2k2UKI/видео.html
Old time youtube video with high quality video and widescreen resolution? Im in!
Old-timer, that's me!
Video was done with a low cost smartphone, voice-over with a Rode microphone.
My next videos may need a microscope too.
Ah, wonderful video. Simple and straight to the point.
At first I was not a fan of water and any electronics, BUT if one does not have a heat gun or hairdryer, they might surely have hot water, right? If the cable is in good condition and the plug ends are kept dry, this is a good solution. Great concise, to the point, well filmed video. Proper :) Thank you!
Wetting the cable is not essentail. ruclips.net/video/4pGsR2k2UKI/видео.html
And you can keep the cables tangle-free ruclips.net/video/Qg87ZJONnJs/видео.html
Absolutely love it. Feels like the good old days
Every single second of the video was utilized!
The last few seconds could have been shorter.
I just love keeping it short and informative, next videos will be too.
