Excellent mod! Bravo Chissel ! So now nobody have to get in GE making (and learn how to) NavMashes. It opens up a game huge for organizing pastures. Also brings to life option from real life to bring cows to pasture away from cow barn. Brilliant. Thank you for this video mate, and once more thanks to Chissel for making it!
Wow, what a game changing mod for FS22! Amazing to see the potential for the game which the modders keep expanding! Congrats Chissel and thanks for sharing Disturbed 👍👍
This will absolutely revolutionize farm sim. I love maize plus but because the amount of feed needed is so high feeding takes ages and the grazing pasture mods that are currently available are so small so provide very little feed. With this you could actually graze a decent sized area and coupled with the animal moving mod, easily move animals from field to field, according to where the grass is.
Yup, and being able to easily set up pastures for the animals to graze a field is going to be great. Makes my trick of using grass as a cover crop even more useful as you can get the cows or sheep on there to graze it too.
Changelog 1.0.1.0: Released 15/4/2024 - Bugfix: The medium cow husbandry now has the correct type. - Feature: Food capacity will increase with extensions.
YES !! Been looking for something like this since the game launched.. Have tried several times changing existing mods to make bigger pastures to be more realistic in sizes, with no luck getting it to work, so this will be a game changer for me..
Good work. I've always thought this should be the standard as its far more realistic than the base game set up. They should def make it so you can combine the base game sheds with this. I would like to see rotational grazing as well, so you can move cattle/sheep from one pasture to another so one field re grows while they graze another. This could be for the warmer months only so you don't have to feed/bed them for half the year. And forget water, it should be on mains supply which you pay monthly. That's the norm in real life.
Mains supply water is easy, it's a one word edit in the xml of almost any placeable and many mods already include it. I talking about your idea of rotational grazing, you could just add and remove bits of expandable pasture. you can also add or remove the ones included with the mod without them effecting the ground. These won't be combined with the basegame sheds as it requires custom specializations for FS22, that's why there are copies of them includes with the mod.
@@DisTurbedSimulations I have a water mod just would like it to be standard as its a bit gimmicky to have it in base game. I haven't tried the mod yet, but yeah I'm sure there are ways to make it work....I suppose a purpose built mod would allow you to move the animals with the click of a button or just by opening a gate. I think this kind of mod expanded could make a really good DLC.
Can I overlap pasture extensions to allow Angus and sheep to graze my highland in the same giant enclosure. Would need 2 base pastures I guess but would the animals roam amongst each other. And what about grazing for overlapping pasture extensions? Very cool mod.
my first thought - are the extensions including more food? the basegame pastures barely hold enough food for a single month, if you’re adding more animals without adding more food / water capacities you’ll run into feeding troubles!
My first answer is this only works with mods set up to be expanded, so the modder can account for that. My second is I'll ask and see if the extensions increase those
It does not increase the food / water as you expand the pasture. so either it will be up to the modders that create pastures that support it to make them big enough or you could take the 5 minutes to edit the xml to increase the numbers to suit what you create
Are you in multiplayer? If you are you need to open the dialog box with U while in build mode (I haven't had to do this but these are the instructions from Chissel)
in Expandable Pastures The COW BARN WITH FEEDING ROBOT does not work with Enhanced Animal System, they do not take the food both mods are by Farming Agency Chissel
Great mod preview D/S Chissel has done a fantastic job with this and if I remember correctly before this you could only have a certain amount of horses in one pen I think very very cleaver indeed the F/A team leading the way again 👏👏👍👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
this looks so cool, question, if you have a dirt track from a field near your farm and another field at the end of the dirt track can you use the thin rectangles on the track to link the two fields/pastures so they walk down the track? liked and subscribed :)
Can't find any info if this works on multiplayer. Trying now on our server and it doesn't seem to work, placing one down doesn't trigger the overlay where you select which barn to attach it to. Placing it near/on top of a cow barn did not increase it's max animal count.
Mar. 23, 2024 Thank you Mr. Chissel and Mr. Disturbed Simulations. This is phenomenal!! Looking forward to this. I do have one question though please. Will you be able to place the Expandable pastures on hillsides or do they only work on flat ground? Thank you both again so much. Take care.
Im playing on the Calmsden Farm Map which has a custom cow barn included, when I try to place a pasture extension it says "Cannot be bought". Is there a way to add support for pasture extensions of mod-buildings?
i knew there could be some thing like this it would only take a little time it will get better remember i asked u if it was some thing a person could do
Great mod. With grazing activated and the same amount of cows (say 10). Does making the grazable area larger make the food bar fill more or last longer or is it just for visuals area? I know grazing only fills a certain % but will the expanded pasture grass longer overall before being emptied, or does it just allow more animals rather than spreading them out to make grazing go further?
A larger area will allow more overall food to be grazed. So either it will last longer or can feed more animals for a shorter amount of time. The amount the bar fills is fixed by grazing, this is done so you can still add extra food if you want too
Can anyone help me please? After I place the initial building for EP I try to use the addon blocks to expand the blue area but when I place them I don’t get the pop up asking which building I would like to bind it with so none of the animals in each pen will roam other than the original blue area. I can’t find anything online about this.
I want to turn my pastures on UMRV into useable pastures. Assuming this isn’t going to help with the prebuilt cow barns :/ Any idea of I can modify the pastures to support grazing? I know Mr Hector provided instructions to do it on carpathian. Would that apply on UMRV?
@@DisTurbedSimulations awesome that may be enough. I just want to use the barn that is there and allow the cows to eat the grass that walk around in. Just fyi I have repainted the grass with meadow to see if that works but it hasn’t on this particular map

And a follow up I’m presuming this will support EAS out of the gate too (thinking goat milk pastures) I must admit I’ve not checked your improvised pens but do they support goat milk? Could you add this without loosing console support? 😂 just a thought
Answering your first question, no extending pastures doesn't increase food / water capacity, so modders will need to consider that when they convert their mods to support this. I'm waiting to hear back on your goat question. And no the mods won't support console anymore, but that's not really something I worry about.
With EAS support, if the pen is set up to support both then yup it will work. As with any other enclosure in order to support the expandable pastures they do need editing.
Thanks for the speedy response. I’m presuming that the base EP mod then won’t support goat milk shame I find it quite tricky to get that working properly 😅 though it’s probably really easy. I can at least tweak the food and water cap so that’s something. Looking forward to your video on how to add EP in due course :)
