Maybe. If they are not already in development than I can't see ut happening. Switch is on its last year in market and afterwards. Any game it does get will be mostly indies.
The switch is an odd one cause I know that typically a console gets supported for a good two years after the new one.
But considering the switch is already underpowered and they seem to be stretching the legs more than it honestly should've.

I think they'd be crazy not to double down on what they've built with Switch already and make a new more powerful console that runs all games that run on the original Switch. My prediction is that they'll be running similar enough hardware to each other that "porting" Switch games to Switch 2 is a non-issue due to inherent compatibility, and that devs will have the option to make their games compatible with either iteration (I'm seeing the options of either, runs on both, runs on both but better performance and/or graphics on Switch 2, or runs on Switch 2 only, with corresponding easy to read eShop labeling to know which is which, and perhaps not showing switch 2 exclusives on the eShop if browsing on an original Switch).
They can have the benefit of Switch 2 exclusives and having the vast library of the Switch running on the new console from day 1 to make upgrading a painless and easy decision for those who are interested.
If they don't at least do this much, I may not ever get the Switch 2. Heck, the only reason I even have a Switch is because my best friend gave me his launch day Switch for free when he got the OLED. All I had to do was order a new fan and some analog stick replacements with the tri-wing screwdriver and I suddenly had a Switch I only had to pay $20 for. @@israelruiz8706

But it would also still be a minor project compared to ES6 or F5, or mabye even easier than trying to get 3 and new Vegas running on new hardware.. Sounds like a win win for both companies they basicly get to make two new fallout games that just follows an old story and they could hold us over until F5 is ready... Fun fact: Creation Engine is the Gamebyro engine. It still retains source code from Morrowind. Many of the bugs in Starfield, Skyrim, and Fallout were present in Morrowind. The scripting engine has all the same flaws. It hasn't changed much over the years.

Most engines are built on legacy code from older engines. They"re continually iterated on - they don't just abandon all prior work and start from scratch.
And from a technical perspective, the difference between the last version of gamebryo used by Bethesda and the latest version of creation engine 2 is a wide ocean.

It is common practice in the software industry to treat the first implementation as a draft, and then to go back and rewrite it using what was learned. It is common to see projects rewritten as needs change, using better architectures and languages.
In the case of the Creation Engine, many of its fatal flaws originated from Morrowind's scripting engine. Which is very much untouched and still causing the exact same bugs in Starfield and Fallout 4. The only portion of the engine that was rewritten was the graphics engine. The physics engine meanwhile has mostly the same flaws as in Oblivion and Skyrim.z

With the resurgence of the player base coming back to Fallout 4, New Vegas and even 76, I do think theres a chance Bethesda might consider this uproar to potentially release them on Switch, or even a triple bundle on Switch and its successor. 3, NV and 4 coming to Switch would be and sounds epic and not out of the picture because they even released a Next Gen patch for Fallout 4, due to the resurgence of the Fallout IP thanks to the show.

I had an idea for a fallout switch game specifically so people can enjoy the classic ones but easier controls. gameplay wise sort of top down almost zelda, animal crossing or the classic original fallout games, but with graphics similar to links awakening (so they look like plastic toys or something) maybe in the fallout shelter fully customisable cartoon characters art style just 3d.
I got the idea from my fallout inspired acnh character I could imagine a little plastic pip boy on their wrist. Keeping a customisable house or settlement.
Good way to bring back the old games gameplay style but with easier controls and more accessible for casual or beginner gamers.

I suspect ports/ remakes are currently in progress as the next Bethesda game is TES VI, with a provisional release date of 2026 meaning the next Fallout is many years away.
Whether any come to the Switch is another matter entirely.

60 million copies was across 360, Xbox One, PC, Steam, Switch, and anywhere else I might be forgetting. 12 each for F3 and New Vegas are just 360 and PC. If they had done the same, the numbers could’ve been closer. Plus: they have a grand opportunity to rerelease them with some cleaner textures, bonus content, creation club, and mods? It would KILL.

The creation engine is the gamebryo engine, just with a few behind the scenes updates and updates to the animations and face tech. This is why people are able to mod bethesda games before mod tools were released, you just have to trick starfield/skyrim/fallout 4 into thinking a mod made in the oblivion or fallout 3 version of the editor is made for starfield/skyrim/fallout 4.

    @elecjack1 4 месяца назад

They didn't make Fallout 3 and New Vegas on an engine from 1997. Would you say the same about Unreal Engine? It began development in 1995.
Engines evolve over time and are constantly changing. Gamebryo was known as Netimmerse up until the early 2000s before it was rebranded to Gamebryo. Bethesda even used the Gamebryo engine as the base of the Creation Engine. This was a common practice as well. For example, Valve used the Quake engine as a base for what would become the Source Engine.
Even though Creation Engine was based on Gamebryo, today's iteration of it has no original code from Gamebryo left in it. Because, like I said, engines are constantly changing and the Creation Engine has been stripped down and rebuilt at least 2 times now since Skyrim so all of the bugs are on Bethesda at this point.

I hate that the explanation for the series absence on the platform makes perfect sense. If it's really about sales numbers, the player base for Switch is 139 million, PS3 & 360 combined is 171 million. Very different market I know, but it's a big one for returning players and newcomers alike.

I don't understand this. There are so many ports that I think would be perfect for the switch. Switch to me has always kind of felt like a portable Xbox 360. So I'm always amazed that some of the best games from that generation don't have a port for it. Especially when sometimes it's still outperforms that generation and was able to run playable versions of something like Doom Eternal.
Although every now and then it also seems to underperform in comparison but I can't imagine it wouldn't be able to run three and New Vegas.

I'm not that well-versed on how things work, but since Microsoft acquired Bethesda and it seems Bethesda titles are now XBox exclusives (such as Starfield), wouldn't that basically get rid of the chances of releasing games on other systems in the future? I know that Microsoft and Nintendo have buddied up over the years and we have gotten a handful of smaller titles on Switch such as Ori, Pentiment, Grounded, etc, Fallout seems like it might very well become a Microsoft/PC exclusive IP much like Starfield, in the same way we don't see Halo games coming to Switch.
All that being said, I do really wish that Microsoft and Bethesda WOULD release those games on Switch / Switch2; I think the system would be a great fit for them even if it would require a lot of work cleaning up the code to get the games to run properly (although bethesda games "running properly" is not really a thing lol)
