    NOTE: once you officially have the new color attached the extra yarn strings do not cut I think you need to weave them in… I learned the hard way😂

      I recently did a shrug using this method on the ending rows (alternating colors). I combined it with the stitch pull and snip, then invisible knot, method. I wouldn't do it anywhere other than the ending stitch, but boy it saved me from weaving in hundreds of tail ends! If you don't know what the stitch pull method is, let me know and I'll figure out how to get the video link to you.

    this is BY FAR the easiest color transitioning technique i have ever learned! i tried it on a tapestry i am working on and it is seamless and easy when working on the right and wrong side of the piece! just make sure your ends are being tucked in to the back side of your work when switching colors! thank you so much for this tutorial!!

      I think they usually weave it in with a needle when they're done

      Lol 4 mon later but personally I leave a tail I usually work it under the stitches
      So I switch colors then get the tail and just lay it on top of the row that im stitching into and continue crocheting

      As long as you sew in the yarn end securely it won’t unravel 😊

      It took me a while to figure this out too! The way she has it set up, the second colour thread comes in at a place in the stitch where it's able to clamp down on the end of the previous thread, securing it in place with friction.

    this was SO helpful, as i’m following a grid (pixel) pattern, and was wondering how to do a color change mid row instead at the end of a row, especially if it’s only one stitch in doing a color change for. this was a great tutorial, very easy to understand and follow❤

    What do you do with the added in colours spare tail. Do you just snip it? Or is there a neater way to do that?

      You’re welcome 😊 If you’re planning to change back to colour A you can carry it along by working your stitches over it; if not you can sew the ends in as you would normally.     But how do you make sure the yarn from the first color will stay snug rather than pulling loose? I'm working on a double crochet carseat cover, and am using leftover yarn from other projects, hoping it will turn out pretty. I'm almost at the point I need to change colors.       You’re welcome! 😊 Would it be possible to add an extra round of a small stitch (such as double crochets) at the very end to work over the wire? Also I’m not sure how flexible the wire is that you’re using but it may be possible to sew in the ends?

      @@bellacococrochet The last round was double crochets over the wire. The wire is flexible. I will sew a ribbon around the ends and then glue it in the inside of the hat. That was the best I could do. Thank your for your reply, it helped me a lot.

      Yes, you can use this with single crochet stitches as well; just pop your hook through the top of the stitch and the first diagonal bar :)

      If you want to pick the light pink (or the first colour) back up you can use the same technique as you did to change to the dark pink (or second colour) 😊
