I recently did a shrug using this method on the ending rows (alternating colors). I combined it with the stitch pull and snip, then invisible knot, method. I wouldn't do it anywhere other than the ending stitch, but boy it saved me from weaving in hundreds of tail ends! If you don't know what the stitch pull method is, let me know and I'll figure out how to get the video link to you.

this is BY FAR the easiest color transitioning technique i have ever learned! i tried it on a tapestry i am working on and it is seamless and easy when working on the right and wrong side of the piece! just make sure your ends are being tucked in to the back side of your work when switching colors! thank you so much for this tutorial!!
Amazing!! So simple but it makes a clean and quick color change! You just changed my life as a crocheter! As a perfectionist, there will be no more holding my creativity back. 😂 Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!! ❤❤❤❤
Wow, this really saved me. I have a project for school due tomorrow and ran out of yarn in the middle of the row. Like, completely out of the color. I found a similar shade and found this on RUclips. Thank you for saving my project!😊😊😊❤❤❤
Lol 4 mon later but personally I leave a tail I usually work it under the stitches So I switch colors then get the tail and just lay it on top of the row that im stitching into and continue crocheting
Hi, Bella. Nice tutorial, I learned how to change colors at the end of a row from your video a few years back. 😀 your a great teacher, may God bless you and family. Thanks again for your time.
Thank you I've checked again I looked before but needed refresher been to sleep since then lol it works great so grateful to you taking time to show us on here ❤️
Oh my god, I love this. I tried it after a bobble stitch, not sure if it was going to work, but it turned out perfectly. Thank you for making colour changes so much easier and neater!
It took me a while to figure this out too! The way she has it set up, the second colour thread comes in at a place in the stitch where it's able to clamp down on the end of the previous thread, securing it in place with friction.
Thank you so much! Im a first time crocheter and my granny square has turned into so far a 69 cm x 69 cm blanket. I ran out of yarn but want to keep going so this was super helpful❤❤❤
this was SO helpful, as i’m following a grid (pixel) pattern, and was wondering how to do a color change mid row instead at the end of a row, especially if it’s only one stitch in doing a color change for. this was a great tutorial, very easy to understand and follow❤
Я ВАС ЛЮБЛЮ!!!!! Я перепробувала просто мільйон способів, і всі виходили якимись кривими, не гарними, а цим способом все просто неймовірно легко, гарно та акуратно. Дякую вам💜💜💜💜
What do you do with the added in colours spare tail. Do you just snip it? Or is there a neater way to do that? Thank you so much for your channel. Me and my step daughter are bonding over craft and all your techniques are getting us so excited 🎉
Thank you so much for explaining it so clearly! Am making a fox, and the tutorial is so bad at explaining it. I thought I was gonna lose my mind trying to figure out how to do it. 🦊
GENIUS! SO easy! I'm working with black with pops of other colours. Other ways I've found leave an awkward looking transition space, but this fits in seamlessly. 🩷
Thank you so muchh im a begginer and you taught me what to do now if the yarn ran out in half way and how can i continue thx a lot this was very clear and easy 🩷🩷🌸
Thank you! Would love to see how to do the next rows, for a half-and-half color project for example! How do I deal with the tails? Going back to color A?
You’re welcome 😊 If you’re planning to change back to colour A you can carry it along by working your stitches over it; if not you can sew the ends in as you would normally. I have another tutorial here, which uses a different technique, that might be helpful: ruclips.net/video/3wxMQ-_Cz3s/видео.html 😊
You’re welcome! 😊 Yes, you can use this with single crochet stitches as well; just pop your hook through the top of the stitch and the first diagonal bar.
You’re welcome! 😊 You can sew in the tails of your yarn as you would normally; I have a tutorial that shows how to do that here: ruclips.net/video/gpD-ZhfZGao/видео.html
But how do you make sure the yarn from the first color will stay snug rather than pulling loose? I'm working on a double crochet carseat cover, and am using leftover yarn from other projects, hoping it will turn out pretty. I'm almost at the point I need to change colors. Thank you for the tutorial.
Thank you! Your videos got me hooked on Crochet. Since the subject of this video is neat Crochet, I have a question: I am finishing a summer hat. I need to crochet an iron thread or wire in the last row, but I have no idea how to hide the wire ends. Any suggestions? Thank you.
You’re welcome! 😊 Would it be possible to add an extra round of a small stitch (such as double crochets) at the very end to work over the wire? Also I’m not sure how flexible the wire is that you’re using but it may be possible to sew in the ends?
@@bellacococrochet The last round was double crochets over the wire. The wire is flexible. I will sew a ribbon around the ends and then glue it in the inside of the hat. That was the best I could do. Thank your for your reply, it helped me a lot.
If you want to pick the light pink (or the first colour) back up you can use the same technique as you did to change to the dark pink (or second colour) 😊
NOTE: once you officially have the new color attached the extra yarn strings do not cut I think you need to weave them in… I learned the hard way😂
Damn, thx for saying if

I just tried it. It is such a clean transition between colors! I make a lot of scrap afghans and this will come in handy. Thank you so much.
Would have loved to see the next row and how the back looked.❤

This is the best method of merging skeins that I’ve seen. It’s so seamless!!! I look forward to trying this on my next project.
Did this for the first time... do you just cut the extra yarn or should I tie a knot somewhere?
I think they usually weave it in with a needle when they're done
Lol 4 mon later but personally I leave a tail I usually work it under the stitches

I love it but was wondering how does the original colour yarn not unravel?
As long as you sew in the yarn end securely it won’t unravel 😊
I was wondering the same and will the ends hold nicely or is there something special you have to do?
I'm noticing a gap when I do this with HDC
I tied it off with the other color.
It took me a while to figure this out too! The way she has it set up, the second colour thread comes in at a place in the stitch where it's able to clamp down on the end of the previous thread, securing it in place with friction.

how do you carry wool to the row above? like if i didnt want to carry it all the way until i reach the next row is there any other way?
