- Transformer coupled Class A amps are twice as efficient as their capacitive coupled counterparts in theory. This short video shows how this efficiency is achieved and what real world results would look like.
oh god finally a video that is not in hindi !!! thank you
Trafo's role is block DC and give transformed (reflected |Z|) of the speaker itself to the bjt. Turns ratio squared gives k = (Np/Ns)² = 5² = 25. Inversely connected it reflects 1/25. If no speaker is connected, the trafo attempts to reflect the "open" into "open" to the bjt. An |8ohm| would make the bjt see |200ohm| on this case, too low; the |47ohm| gives |1175ohm|. Visualization hint: once we calculate the reflected |Z| we can erase the trafo on the drawing! By the way, my Vox AC15 tube amp OPT reflects 8+8ohm into 4000+4000ohm for the EL84s, k=500, the tube datasheet even tells 4k is what that tube "wants". Cheers!
How do we calculate the primary inductance of the transformer?
Will this circuit give phase shift like RC coupled, I just tested today it not give phase shift
What happened when I use Darlington transistor use in this circuit for AC signals with step up transformer and then what is the efficiency of this power amplifier ?
Please explain steps of finding efficiency
I wish you had delved a little deeper in transformer impedance matching. Any chance of that in near future?
Super cool addendum.
I just stumbled on your channel, you did a nice job. I am curious what is your education, are you an engineer by chance? Anyways, great job and thanks for sharing.
Hello Michael and thanks for watching and thank you for the compliment. This is actually an academic minor for me but my joy is in electronics
I am even more impressed, I have a BSEE degree from an ABET accredited University and think you know more than I do, however in all fairness I concentrated in controls systems and computer design. Have you considered doing anything in the RF spectrum such as LNAs and or power amps ? I have noticed that there is not a lot of content at the level that you teach at on you tube? Anyways thanks for pinging me back and keep up the great work, you do an awesome job.
I'll add those to my list - power amps I can handle and it would be interesting to dabble with LNA's. Well you've got me on the control system and computer side. Took courses in them but never anything with depth. Maybe you should some videos?
Interesting conversation!!! One is BSE, the other is at least MSE with lots of hands on experience. And we benefit!!!
very good, thank you.
What about the inductive Reactance (impedance) of the primary of the transformer?
Thanks , Thanks a billion ..
Pleased to hear you found the video useful. Thanks for watching.
Hi Wondering if you could do a circuit analysis for an tuned RF amplifier and also an amplifier with an IF transformer on the collector load matching to another stage?
Hello, I will see what can be done. I have the next few videos planned already but am looking at doing something with Am and FM radio receivers so this might be a good fit there. Thanks for watching!
Would this be AM & FM radio design?
Not design so much as analyze and build from a kit.
Which kit are you planning? does it use discrete transistors or IC's? I would rather see the analysis with discrete transistors, if possible....
I would like to do it on the AM/FM108CK from Elenco.
nice.
Difficult, I'm stupid
i want this topic in hindi
