i have hidrocor ambar and mel. I bought mel first and absolutely fell in love. They are very dramatic so not for the faint hearted but with makeup and against my tanned skin tone they just looked incredible. I then bought hidrocor ambar and instantly fell in love with those too. Now im not sure about them. Ambar is defitnately more natural compared to mel but i feel like mels are so striking and beautiful , so i never get bored of them. If you care more about the contacts looking super natural and subtle go with ambar. If you care more about the contacts turning heads and enhancing your make up look to the max go with mel. Ambar is a grey, browny green colour but green being the main colour. Mels look like a vivid pale green with no other undertones that ive noticed on myself.
+tanya tasha I don't understand - Ambers on me looks vampire-freaky light. I don't know why. My eyes are dark brown. I LOVED the original Mels and nothing now compares. I'm so upset that I spent 100 dollars on these. Only tried one of them once for 4 seconds literally. My kid said "Don't look at me with those! They're weird." LOL. If anyone wants to buy mine, please contact me. So many people like these Ambers, I don't know why I have such bad luck.
Thats such a shame to hear, with solotica lenses they really do vary from person to person . Im so happy ambers look so natural on me but i had to buy 3 different lenses just to finally find one that suits me! So hopefully you find one that suits you, i felt the same way with the ocres and mels :(
+tanya tasha Hey!! I always see you on other people videos and you give the best comments, in fact you made me decide to not get ocre. You described it the best (Wish you would post a video, lol). I am currently torn between Amber, and Hazelnut. I currently wear air optix hazel, and they give a greenish, yellowish, brown tint. Sometimes they look like gold. It's a stunning color. I know you are a big amber fan, and my skin complexion is med brown. Also I have med-light brown eyes, I feel like the hazelnut wont give me that stunning color i am looking for, but then I feel like Amber will give me too much of a green color. I want something that has more of a yellow tint I guess. Ahh it's hard to explain but I wanted to reach out to you to get your thoughts.
Hey thank you i just really want to help people out because solotica lenses are quite expensive! Okay so if your wanting a yellowish tint then ocre may actually be perfect for you! Ocre looks hazel greyish yellow , dont get me wrong ocre is a pretty colour but they just didnt suit my face or complexion. One thing that did strike me with ocre was that it did have a golden tone to it that did look nice. I have very dark brown eyes, im thinking the ocre would probably look better on you than on me. The ambars will look light greeny hazel on you but theres no yellow or gold in it. Hazelnut is a light brown with dark green undertones i dont think thats the look your going for, plus it wont make a huge difference to your med-brown eyes , but its honestly so natural looking its crazy. So maybe ocre is for you! I hope you find the right colour for yourself!

With the Mel, the color pops more, but the Amber definitely looks more natural, and it looks good with your hair color! I'm waiting on my Amber's in the mail and I'm going to do a video review when I get them. So excited!

Amazing video and review. I used to have mel in hidrocor. Now I have natural ambar. They look like a greenish grey on my eyes and they have a limbal ring too. You should get a pair of those they look so good. You have so many contacts, you must have spent a small fortune on all of them.

which year did you buy your Mels in because the opacity always change with the Mels each year
I was told by a few companies that the Ambers are the same as the old Mel opacity, I only liked the old Mels but I like the Mels your wearing now xx

I am between cristal hridrocor or mel hidrocor but the fact its that cristal is too light and mel it pretty natural but not any blue at all. Which would you prefer ?

Ambar is better because it's more natural looking than Mel. Now I know which colour I'm going to order next, yay! (Already own the hidrocor avela)

mel is a cooler undertone while amber is a neutral-warm undertone.
Hey hon I was just wondering if the Mel's opacity is more brighter this year then in 2015. Because I own the same Mel's that I purchased last year and there very dark with a yellow tone.
I think they change a bit every year

gaaarl, i was so exited about the nice weather and i fall asleep, with my yearly hidrocor in my eyes for the first time, and when i walked up, i had the biggest burning sensation underneath my eyelid, horrible, i became so sensitive to the light, i felt like an albano alien ..inside a bright star world...my eyelid became, so deep set..type of eyelide, i couldnt open my eyelid properly..all day long...it was just like night mare on elm street can you please inform us about, this side effects. because some of us wear contacts for prescription purposes...it was not very preasent day..i had to stay home all they long, with all my cortains down....please inform us about this...in your videos...!!!!!!!

Hey lovey I know I'm late af to this video lol, but I'm stuck between getting the two, I normally wear hidrocor quartzo and a lot of people think they're natural but I want something that I feel is a little more natural. Is the amber kind of yellow toned? I'm scared they may be too yellow and if that's the case I would prefer the Mel's but I feel like they're not gonna be as natural looking.
And I don't like the NC's because the kimball ring bothers me lol

Thanks for all your videos. I ordered my first pair of soloticas from lensme.com. They arrived within 3 days. Great customer service. Highly recommend. I did order the hydrocor Mel. Unfortunately, total zombie look. Too yellow. I do like the quality and opacity, but I cannot wear this color. I look ridiculous. Now, that I have them and I relook at your video, I see that the Ambars look more natural to me. I am a little lighter than you, so maybe they just don't suit my coloring very well. I wore them once and people just had a open awed speechless reaction when they saw me.

and um yeah it looks like the ambars looks like mels but with more substance...i guess its down to preference...
and either you have 2 different eye shapes which is common or it seems like they changed the pupils on the ambars, pupil looks slightly more natural on the ambars

It is I bought Amber and Mel! Amber looks natural but the pupil hole is big so you can see my brown compared to the Mel that covers my whole eye color. 😭😭

@millzladiva I've been watching your videos all day. I change my hair color a lot It a usually platinum white blonde then I do pastel colors when my roots start to show . right now it's a silver grey , im light skinned what's a natural looking color that would match light skin and light hair colors / pastel. is the pupil whole bigger in amber just like the avela has a bigger pupil than ocre or not?
+becka adel the pupil is the same but appears that way, due to the slight brown gradient that leads into the pupil.

Depends on your undertone! I have dark brown eyes, but my skin is kind of warm (I'm an NC30 in MAC) and I prefer Ambar. They have a warmer tone (still green, but with a yellow tinge), Mel look a little more like a true green and perhaps more grey. EDIT: I have them in natural colours, as they're slightly darker, blend better and more natural looking on dark eyes than hidrocor. People say hidrocor is more natural looking, but it can be quite shocking to see when you're used to your dark eye colour (hidrocor avela made me look like a serial killer, NC avela is stunning)

Abajabba Dahatt Oh, sorry to hear that. I personally quite like them though, but I don't have them. Its just smth about the light brown hue thats "cuter" than green or blue, which are usually colder looking.
+Drew Ng it does look nice don't get me wrong, a lot of people said it's nice but I just don't get the reaction that I used to get when I wear light green or other cooler colour... I used to wear >desio desert dream< and people were like "WOW!" But anyway, solotica Amber and Quartz are on the way... We will see 😜 p.s. Now that I've discovered solotica, I would never go back to desio now though... They have some nice colours but it just doesn't look natural. Solotica is by far the best for me ;)
Abajabba Dahatt Same here, I have tried 2 desio colors before, wasn't feeling them. You'll love the quartzo, they are quite bright and a green/blue on me.
mel is a little bit more blue, amber is a little bit more brown. They are very similar, but Amber is perfect on you, looks very natural.

Alexis Corrigan I'd say the colour is beautiful. More green. It's just that they are so light green on me that they look too intense. I'm selling mine for $65 Canadian if you're interested.
PS: I have a light olive tone and dark hair. Naturally dark eyes. I'm not sure why they look so light on me. They look better on the video poster and she's darker toned than I am. Go figure.

Im not sure about desio. Everytime I ask my divas and divos (subbies) if I should try them. They literally duck tape me to a chair, and tell me "NO". So Im not sure how to compare it... I think there are videos out there with desio. And no ambar is pretty chill.

I just bought Ambar 5 days A go. I like them but they Are too bright for me. I look like A vampire. And in pictures they look horrible. I like them more in sunlight they look way more natural from far away. They dont look on me as they does on you. So it depends on the person. Be carefull while buying those 😇
