Thank for a very informed and articulate discussion...I’ve had this model for a few months now and agree with nearly everything you’ve said...well done!
Has one about a year now . Really good performer . A bit fiddly to use because of the size . Very good on ssb . Decent audio and good battery life unlike my 501 x which is terrible. Hardly ever use it for that reason . My best go to radio is the S2000 . For me it's the perfect radio but not for carrying around in a back pack !!!
Thanks for this nice review of the features of this radio. I agree that it's a great radio, probably the most sensitive of my collection, even more than its sibling the PL-368 which has a longer antenna (and even much smaller buttons!). Overall I like it a lot, but the tuning encoder really irritates me. It's way too light and sensitive. It often skips frequency hops or doubles them. That's annoying, really. You seem to imply that yours does this too, but how often? Apart from this, I like its features, performance and interface. I really wish the tuning encoder weren't so annoyingly imprecise. I haven't found ETM quite useful to me, but maybe that's just me...
I want a decent SW radio for emergencies that might occur in todays world. And no matter how good a review, other reviews says there is better options. And for the price I keep coming back to this one, but not liking the battery type. For receiving emergency broadcasts, and listening to independent base stations around the world to hear what might be going on with the situation, what would you suggest? I have a PL-380, but doesn't have all I want in a radio. What I want is good reception, decent sound (doesn't need to be social gathering quality) and gets all frequencies one would need in a world emergency. Most of all, excellent build quality.
Of the radios I own, the Sangean 909x2 fits those criteria, but it's a lot bigger and heavier (and more expensive) than something like the PL-330. I haven't used one, but the CCrane Skywave SSB seems to be the best option for a small AA battery radio that has a good build quality and SSB reception. Too bad it's so expensive.
Peel 330 is very good sensitivity sensitivity without being too sensitiveIf that explains it it is a really good radio I have a PL 600 and I don’t know which one I like best both are great. The 330 is impressive I must say very impressive.
I want it but i just think it is a boring radio :( I am thinking on getting the 368 on yellow just to have something more fun, but i really do not know if the antenna jack works on a different way than the 330.
If you get a hand on wrong radio you know what I’m talking about😂It has to be a five RBC five or whatever kind of radio battery and you could swap them between each other I have a little charger and it’s extra radio if the one with the Bluetooth in the MP3 card it records off the radio HaDong Rong😂 it’s cool for 20 bucks
I got this model just because of its size. I can put it in my pocket and bring it anywhere!
You could easily get a cell phone kick stand and stick it on the back of the 330.

I own two of these now. One I can travel with, one I leave at home. The ETM feature makings 'scanning' a breeze. Love this radio.

What an excellent review. Got mine yesterday and love it. Thank you.

I just ordered a PL-330, very excited!

The pl 330 is my favorite out of many even higher priced.
I can see where people might want a kickstand, but I have 3 portable SW radios and I almost never use the stands.
good ol' G.I. gooseneck O.D. green flashlight@!
Thanks for the video I just got one very good
Enjoy it

I think the pl-368 is essentially the same radio in a different form factor so there's no reason not to go that route if that's what you prefer.
Он работает без батареи от шнура?
It is battery powered and charges via USB.
Why doesn't it have the sticker on its left side?
I always take the marketing stickers off when I get a radio. I feel they ruin how it looks, although I know collectors like them on vintage gear.
@@sfred I also removed the sticker from mine, because it began to peel off, but I have the doubt if it detracts from the radio
Little champion
I got mine three days ago and it is the bomb. I love it almost as much as my PL 600.
