the song wasn't that old at the time. it premiered in 1938. and the composer (Sergei Prokofiev) died only in 1953. according to the law, the song enters the public domain 70 years after the author's death. it's 2024 now so technically the song is now in the public domain but this tape was released in 2020 so at the time it wasn't
