Actually they have plenty freedom. My friend in theran has a pretty decent life. She lives in her parents home, never has to work, spent 3 some years going to a language school. Got herself docs to leave and signed up at a europe university to study in 2023. She had to go to the foreign countries embassy in theran to do the required b2 level test to join uni. Had zero issues doing that.Was able to travel back and forth to iran. Plenty of zoom conversations from homeland.Internet is expensive but duable. She did have some issues not able to wire semester money but a europe friend helped with that. In europe she lives in a univ apt with several adult iran women.

I am a kiwi - not American - I know ppl are upset and annoyed about the rising prices....and the difficulty in getting other things done....including rebuilding jobs and industry in the US...
But these things just have to be done...we have to remember how bad things were for previous generations and how we can only make a better future by doing some of the hard things now...
We know in our hearts that ppl like the IRGC cannot be allowed to run entire regions....and their ideology is WRONG...and China etc also...the course needs to be changed at least a bit for the long term ... keep going America!

Also from New Zealand. Unlike our right wing government, I can't support a breach of International law. What the US has done, will never result in regime change. You just have to look to Afhanistan & Iraq.
As kiwi's we are higher on the freedom, democracy & human rights scale than the US. The US remains an ally, but lets no pretend our NZ values are not grossly mis-aligned with Republicans.
I agree that all diplomatic & economic pressure should be place on Iran. But Trump has no place dragging us into another global war to secure low oil prices.
A pivot from a reliance on oil, to renuable energy, would actually be a more sensible move.... Biden was on track to do that.

China was elbow deep in Panama Canal, Venezuela and Iran, and they are also in Cuba because it's close enough to be able to spy on the US from there. The US doesnt even need Iranian oil when Venezuela is MUCH closer and has the most oil reserves in the entire planet. The US announced purchase of oil from them at market price, after taking out Maduro.
