It kinda looks like a prerendered background actually. Basically it would be an animated skybox. Of course that would not work in an actual game as you would easily hit the background and that would break the illusion.
After playing daggerfall, seeing this shows how good a modern rendition of a game like of this type can look, the room with the Dwarven sphere with the smoke and fog looked amazing, I would 100% play this if it was real
There's nothing like good pixel art. I still think Hexen weapon models and gamefeel have yet to be matched, closest things would be Shadow Warrior 2 I guess. I'd love to play a new Hexen game, faked 2D art or otherwise.
Really well done. I agree that parts are a bit too advanced for the 90s, but the VIBE brings me back to the 90s. Last TES game I played was Oblivion in 2006, so this was cool to see.
As someone that has completed Arena and Daggerfall multiple times, you need to pixelate the models more then have the populace refuse to give you directions 😂
Dude these graphics would be crazy back in the 90s, I remember playing Daggerfall back when it released and was blown away by how big the game was. If you had the size of Skyrim along with the graphics of this version of Skyrim 15 year old me would have my mind blown!
Titanic adventure out of time was like this. The trick was that the game wasn't actually rendered what you're seeing is just screen shots of the game and the illusion looks like what you would be playing because the inputs match whatever photo was taken of the game. So this game would've been possible.
Looking at this game, this would have been the greatest game ever made at the time and still to this day, just like it already is. Even my wife, who never plays games, but her kids did. She knew about Skyrim (and she is a fantasy geek), so one day I told her to make her own character on my PS4...a year later she was riding a dragon...When I show her new games that will be released soon, she always says "nice, when is Elder Scrolls 6 coming out though?". She currently plays ESO casually, but man, I couldn't have been blessed with a more perfect wife.
I like how the death spin animation is exactly the same
Danny good to see you again lol 😂
there is none in this video
Whats up danny 😝

That autosave as Nazeem rounds the corner...
my thoughts exactly xD
1,000,000,000 points for killing him
You save? I just do it.
@awhellnah__Yeah I could be wrong but remember most games didn't autosave but quick saving was pretty handy.
Lol we’ve all done this 😂
In the 90s... that kind of render distance was unheard of. Would be GOTY.
@@FML2TRit did. Magazines would all have their own lists.
could be a sky box
The world was just really foggy back then.

@@cosmicgamingunlimitedso you mean its like goty but no bribe involved ?
still holds up. Now it feels like Wolfenstein.
The ending is perfection, ain't nothing more classic than a giant helping you ascend through space, sending you straight into Starfield.
We need this made into a mod

@@olegallito5742then go do it. Can't always expect others do the hard work or even fix Bethesda's game so everyone can say how great their games are.

Daggerfall Unity with mods is the closest thing i guess
@@smolpp585Had a blast playing it a year or so ago ngl

@smolpp585 Never heard of this. Thanks.
Check out Islands of the Caliph if you don't know it yet, exactly this style of thing.
if Skyrim was that old I'd still play it even today.
Skyrim is like DOOM in a sense that people will seem to try and run the game on just about anything. Or at the very least, Todd Howard will try to.
@@eye-of-omega I've tried Daggerfall a little, it's way different than Skyrim, but I can see why people love this game.
Nope, you would not. There is good old TES: Arena and Daggerfall. And you aren't playing it today.

that daggerfall sequel looks cool
That little dragonborn face when the lockpick breaks made me lol.
Surely make this a mod when I get a job I’ll actually pay for it
You can run, you can hide.
But Nazeem will unfold before your eye
I see that 12 years after his first release the game is still looking fresh !
This brought back vivid memories of my own childhood lol. My older brother played Daggerfall and Morrowind while I played Oblivion and Skyrim.
So it's generational
To think that Skyirm is 12 years old...
It’s fitting that 90s Skyrim apparently has more in common with DOOM than Daggerfall
"some may call this junk.." that was amazing 😂😂
I remember playing this on Windows 95. It was amazing.
As someone that has completed Arena and Daggerfall multiple times, you need to pixelate the models more then have the populace refuse to give you directions 😂
*_Even in the 90's it looks great._*
would love to see a 90s game pull off a yeet like that
Imagine walking through an Oblivion portal in ES: Oblivion... you vision turns red and pixely, and the Doom music starts playing.
Makes me feel like I'm playing doom, dungeon keeper, and daggerfall.
This is what skyrim became for me when I found out I couldnt run it on my ultrawide monitor
Daggerfall?
Definitely daggerfall
More like "When my brothers search history has my gaming pc acting up..."
Played this game so much I recognize all these places.
man this looks sick, would play 10/10. Skyrim toaster edition
Just wait another 20 years and it'll be that equivalent.
I see the skyrim port of 16 bit screens is ready for spring release.
So good even a dagger fell out of my hand.
This Skyrim music is unforgettable this is for my son church seaman and my mom for ever remembering you
Good Lord... this brings back memories that I never had.
Happy 12th annivesary to the greatest game of all time.
I wish this was a Video Game mod it's so well done.
This is darn good. If the entire game really was like this, Todd might finally get a copy in my hands.
Magnificent. How long did this take good sir?
Todd Howard: We're proud to announce Elder Scrolls: Skyrim for the Gameboy Advance
This would have melted a 90s computer.
I would definitely play a modpack of skyrim like this, 1000% for sure
That Game would’ve been a blaster in the 90s!
If they released it yet again as the 90s version, I would still probably buy it immediately the first time it goes on sale
Skyrim released on MS DOS. Todd, you did it again.
The kicking of plates off the banquet table is perfect.

Skyrim was originally released closer to the 90s than it was to the current day

Yo, this video could be the trailer for the release and it would be perfect lol. Perfect ending too.
The hits don't stop

I'd love a fan demake in the similar style of daggerfall it would be so cool!
I would 100/10 play skyrim like this
This is just what Skyrim felt like to us trying to play the game at release on Intel iGPUs, lower quality texture mods and all
I think that 2d sprites on a 3d backdrop is an excellent look
This is like The Elder Scrolls Travels: Shadowkey
Skyrim's 2011 launch is now closer to 1999 than it is to 2023.
Imagine any form of saving in the 90s xD
I mean daggerfall was in the 90s and this reminds of that so....
Amazing. I would play it if it were real. Reminds me a bit of Witchaven II.
OK unironically, Skyrim would be even BETTER like this
Getting launched would cause it to look like no clipping through a wall in Doom.
Hell, I'd have played that back in the day.
The addition of the Giants sending the Dragonborn skyward regardless is amazing.
This looks more like the early 2000's, not the 90's. Still an interesting video none-the-less.
Very nice. Strong might and magic 6 vibes
I really do wish Skyrim gave us exact numbers on our health, stamina and magicka in gameplay.
I’m haveing daggerfall flash backs
this was genius...
I think everyone has done this in Skyrim but everytime I’m in white run I go up nazeem and I quick save and just kill him and then go back to the save
