Very entertaining flight, not over narrated no dumb music. Got a little bit of drama with the ankle shaking "please dont sprain me again!" Nice video old guy.
Thans Lou. Glad that you still enjoy your small hill and your easy wing. As I get older I'm feeling the same - a nice walk followed by a nice flight with a bit of scratching challenge and landing near the car is a great way to live. I used to be very competitive. The season is just starting down here. Take care and regards from (long time follower) Pete.
Nice Lou. I've watched so many Lil' Black vids, I feel like I need to just get out there and try it. That dark ditch @3:26 just to the left of launch however, looks like a trap with the winds you had here. If the wind is just a bit more south I be it can be dangerous?
Yes! if the winds are too north or south you have to be careful not to extend too far in any direction. South is not as bad but if too north you don't want to extend too far beyond the actual launch area as there can be strong rotors. I did have some sink near the southern end on this day, however, and tried to turn early to avoid it. Little Black can be super smooth, a quick sled ride, or a real roller coaster so you definitely have to respect the area. The landing area can also be tricky as there can be a combination of small thermal pops and then quick sink. I have known of people experienced a frontal collapse 30-40 feet off the ground so you really have to keep controlled tension on those brakes...BUT don't stall! I trained there and had a very good instructor who really cautioned me on all that LB had to offer. You definitely need a site orientation before flying there and especially on a thermic day.
Hey Lou my name is Chris (54) was wondering if I could pick your brain someday about finding a safe instructor at Torrey Pines or somewhere else in the area, I would be coming from the Los Angeles area. Thanks and really like your videos.
Yes, I have a strap connected to my ankle that holds the Go Pro camera with a standard Go Pro connector. But if I'm doing a lot of turns like in this video, it gets in the way when I cross over one leg and I'll bump it. Works better in areas like Torrey where I can fly the ridge line for longer distances.
Thanks for sharing, Cheers Gerry 👍👍
Cool 🤘
Love that Epsilon! So steady! Nice lil outing.
@@peterpupator4117 thanks!🪂

@@CoIoneIPanic thanks! Yes, I have the “right foot shaking syndrome” whenever I fly LB. Always the right side and only at LB…go figure! 🪂😵💫
Nice flight, compared to France we are pretty primitive sites.
Excellent video! So far I have only flown Torrey, excited to learn more about LB soon
@@austinkaufman9402 thanks for watching. Little Black is fun and very accessible. Hope you get to fly there soon! 🪂

@@loums52 Well no worries, as I'm 2500 miles away, so it's not like I'd just stop by :) But I'd look you or Robert up first!

Lou did you mount a go pro on your foot?
