I have the BK-90 with 3 temperature presets. But, it's headed to recycling because it needs a new tip. The tips are 600 series and I can't find them anywhere. I have other tips for it but not the one I need.

Is the station still working? I just saw it on Amazon for $40 wondering if its a good buy

I don’t use it often but yes it’s still working well.

Do you think that the 900m tips are the same ones that go on the Lonove BK90 soldering station. It's also sold as the BAKON 90w soldering station. The things that are bizarre are the Chinese way of doing many things. Your Hakko took 24 seconds to reach 750, your Lonove took 33-34 seconds. My Lonove BK90 took 28 secs. My base for my Lonove is heavy. You're tilting it or dragging it. Tips are 6.5mm OD, 4.3-4.4mm ID.

It turns out Lonove did a bandaid to fit the 900m tips. They used a sleeve with an OD 4.2, 4.0 ID. This sleeve can get stuck in the tip and not stay with the soldering iron.

@@GaryQuiring Is there still a way to get the sleeve? Thanks for responding.

I have no idea, if I had known that up front I would not have bought the soldering iron. What good is a cheap iron if you can't find tips. Your iron probably has the sleeve but it's stuck in the tip.

@@GaryQuiring Thanks for the information. I'll check out the tip. If the tips are not available. I'm going back to amazon because they should be mindful of the stuff they're selling. If I had purchased this off of ebay I would have known it was a chinese product.

@@smitty03281964 They had a similar model on sale this week after coupon for $18. How cheap can they make these things?

ok but hakko cost 3x more :/

I never said the Hakko was worth the 3x the cost. I am just pointing out the minor issues with the BK969S. Some might spend 3x more. The plastic stand with the sponge behind the holder is my only major issue.
