I appreciate the compliments. The first thing you need to know about Yoruba is that it is a tonal language. One every vowel is either Do- or Re- or Mi- which is the first 3 tones on a keyboard and available on all musical instruments. This factor makes it easier to apply words because of these tones, a word could have several meanings making it easier to compose and write music. For example kOKORO in GINGER which means KEY depending on the CONTEXT can be KOKORO which is also INSECT. When used in the latter the pronunciation and the tones on the vowels are different. In KOKORO (i.e. KEY) the tone on the vowels is Mi-Mi-Mi whereas in KOKORO ( i.e. INSECT) it is Do-Do-Do. As a Yoruba man, English was the first language I could speak but my parents returned to Nigeria by the time I was four and I quickly picked Yoruba and it was instilled in the private schools I attended. But it is hard to read because as you are reading the word you are at the same time decoding the TONE and the CONTEXT in which the words (nouns) are used as a word could have several meanings.
