I am a South African pensioner and recently increased use of my gas bottle suggested to me that I might gain benefit from buying a mess kit. Research on RUclips brought up the GSI Outdoors Glacier 1 Person Mess Kit. Lovely, I thought and looked up the price in South African Rands. Eish!!! R809!!! Anyway I did my Secret Thing. And 2 days later I was snooping around my small towns second-hand/vintage/furniture/thrift store. And there was this box on a rather out-of-the-way, difficult to get at, table in a slightly dark corner. It was dusty and stained and a little scuffed. So I looked inside. Brand new GSI Outdoors Glacier 1 Person Mess Kit. The POTGRABBER hadn't even been unwrapped! I got it for R120!!!
Have the same set..use it with Coleman 431a and msr dragonfly. Been 20 years at least and I use soft plastics to keep the Teflon from being scratched..so I am careful and it has held up. No regrets.
minute 2:07 - I'm from Texas. It must be a northern way of saying pasta. LOL I'm watching another camping video and the guy is making mac N cheese and he says passsta too. He's in Canada. Thanks for the tip on the hat. I may have to invest in one!
Hey Jim. I picked up an older (and smaller) version of the Bugaboo Base Camp. It was second hand but not used. Great set. My first question for the set you have is about using it with a two burner gas stove like a Coleman. Do you feel you would have enough room for pots or pans on both burners at the same time. Second, and related question. Can you buy another pot grabber to facilitate using two pans/pots at the same time. Thanks for sharing
oh yes, you will have enough room for a coleman stove, these are smaller diameter than what we have in our kitchen. and yes, you can buy another handle www.gsioutdoors.com/nform-pot-gripper.html

Just purchased it yesterday. Can not wait to use it 😊
Looks like a decent kit for car camping. I like your truck.
milk crate with a few more items like a stove and fuel should make it easy to haul in your car for sure. the truck is working out great :)

I just got the 5 piece backpacking GSI Bugaboo set. Only has the essentials. Added on a spork and plate. Good to go.
