Europe is far more expensive than Middle East. But then you also earn far more than you do in Middle east. On top of that as a bonus, the Europeans do not call you MISKEEN, the Arabs do. And even after thirty years of working in Middle East, you do not get residence visa. In Europe in less than ten years, you get the citizenship. Compared to Middle East, European countries are heaven.

I had first hand experience of such demeaning behaviour. But they respect the white people. This is true for not only Saudis, but all the gulf countries.
I remember my family and I drove from Mecca to Madinah 33 years ago! It took us 12 hours cos the driving speed limit was 40 mph. If we tried to go above 40 mph a bell starting ringing which was most irritating. We did not see the reason for such a speed restriction since there was hardly any traffic. There weren't that many cars in Saudi Arabia in those days.
The train station was empty because it's so expensive. You can travel in much less price in a bus or a taxi and you won't even have to wait for your luggage. We used to enjoy the road trips when my dad used to work in Saudi.

That is wrong. The fare for taxi is definitely not less than the economy ticket of the train. The economy seating is very good. Maybe the bus costs less but if you're short on time then the train is a great option. The time duration is even less than half of the bus ride.
I was there month ago, so one thing regarding the large luggage bag. If you guys gave it to the porter they would’ve cleared the luggage without any issue and they drop it directly to your cabin for a very low fee. Just in case for the future trip now you know😊
@ishakmony their outside the station waiting for taxis to drop people off. They'll put your lugagge on the trolley and take you to the kiosk to pay 30 riyals. After that while your scanning your QR code to go through the barriers they take the trolly up through the lift to where the gate for the train is. Once boarding opens they will take your lugagges and put it into you booked cabin within the trolly slots. And they do also expect a tip just FYI.
Please can you explain one thing? The 25kg bag is allowed only for 1 passenger or all passengers travelling with you? I just came back from Umrah but i didn't know about the baggage allowance on train so i couldn't get on there.
