This guy just straight away changed the meaning of 3rd party. He is like pc does not exist and should not be considered as a platform .When in reality pc is the biggest gaming platform and all gaming consoles combined with nintendo cant defeat it
Hell, now they are saying consoles exclusive instead of exclusive. Moving the goal post hard. It's a shame, too. There are PS users out there who don't adhere to this type of mentality.
Well pc is its own thing and switch is a handheld.. now if sony and Microsoft made handhelds then their handhelds would he in competition with the switch. Neither one is competing with pc either
@De1usionsofGrandeur I understand what each one offers, but if people are willing to move to another platform then they are competition, I think it's arrogant/ignorant to dismiss both PC and Switch as competition.
These analysts, journalists, etc are analyzing the industry as if it's 2001. The most played games earning the highest revenue are multi platform and often free to play. Many of us don't want to see the "single game" disappear, but that's going to take a healthy mix of live service revenue and single game sales. If the engagement charts are correct, the only people choosing a console over exclusives are the journalists... Because the players aren't. If free to play continues to dominate, the consoles rapidly become OEM devices. Epic is already fighting to keep all the profits of their in game stores. The landscape is changing but these people insist it hasn't.
This is a little off topic but in my brain and it needs to come out. The commenter could be right about Sony no longer being able to use the LEGO licence if it wasn't multiplat because that is most likely in the licence agreement. When he says "and a game" he might be talking about Spiderman, but I'm just speculating. While Sony has a licence to Spiderman they don't own the licence. Marvel does and Marvel can pull the Spiderman video game licence whenever they please. Since Indiana Jones was a success on Xbox and PC and is coming out on PS5, Disney has asked for a trilogy. Releasing multiplat, including on PS5, could have been part of the Indiana Jones licence agreement that MachineGun Games signed before the APK acquisition. There is a high probability due to the success of Indy that Disney could potentially ask Sony to put Spiderman on Xbox since Disney owns Marvel who own the Spiderman video game licence. If any Sony exclusives were to go to Xbox, it would be that one. If that happens, the internet will lose their mind.
Still waiting for a sony first party xbox release. Destiny was on xbox when it was 3rd party.. and all bungie games are suppost to be multiplat. Sadly i am not expecting to drop one on xbox this year. But we ll see
Stranding was 3rd party sony didnt make it. Its very simple. A game from sony first party studio that isnt bungie...since bungie games are all multiplat regardless... that's what I am looking for

Fanboys don't know the facts about the marketshare of consoles vs PC.

Bro they just play twitter not games . They only care about the "exclusive" title and about the game .This is the reality

I still can't figure out when making more money became a bad thing. Ponies will never admit that they love Xbox for giving them games
Do people really believe that PC and Switch aren't competition? I bet if you ask Sony they would say different.
