Picked up a CMT-NE 3 system at Goodwill last week for $5.99 in great condition. Upgraded to a new pair of Boston Acoustics A25 bookshelf speakers. This little puppy really sounds great now with the new speakers from classical to rock. Not bad for a small footprint sound system.
Aw you did better than me. I just paid 10 whole dollars for CMT-NE3. Sounds pretty good though. Just have a little trouble with the AM reception. It didn't come with an antennae and will her to look at getting one.
I'm a little late answering this question, but the red and white RCA jacks on the back of the unit are an AUX input - although Sony labeled them as "MD" - hoping buyers would add-on a Sony Mini-Disc player. They can be used for any auxiliary device - I have mine attached to my Amazon Echo Dot. To switch the system over to this input, you need a remote control. Mine has the Sony RM-SC1 remote. On the remote is a button labeled "Function" and that button switches it to the AUX input. If you don't have the remote, and you happen to have a smart phone with an IR Blaster (Such as the LG V20), you can download a multi-remote app and find one with the codes for the Sony. Unfortunately not many phone offer the IR Blaster anymore.
