I read the book but I'm going to wait for the reviews before deciding on the movie. My final decision will hinge on how closely the movie follows the book. If the movie takes too many liberties then I probably won't see it.

Just started reading the hunger games trilogy... It's true what they say "books always better than the film". Though in this case, I am so pumped to watch the prequel. Hopefully can finish the book before the movie hits the big screen
I finished it yesterday and the book is TERRIFIC. But the movie, I think, very much compliments it! At least, Coriolanus Snow looks exactly how I imagined him while reading! Such a darling :) and whilst at first I didn't like the choice of Rachel Zegler as Lucy Gray (because I'm not really her fan...), I must admit she fits the character, both in appearance and demeanor. Not exactly likeable, but very much alive and struggling. So whilst I haven't watched series about Katniss (I read the books, but haven't watched the movies), I'll be watching this one about Coriolanus for sure!

@@theodore3084 I have READ the original trilogy and the prequel (the Ballad). But I haven't seen the movies, only trailers and such. The cast in the first three movies is nowhere near the characters described in books (except for maybe Haymitch), so I don't want to spoil my impressions. I think I will watch it someday, but I'm not in a rush, kinda. :)
@@fantasy_worlds Yeah I get it. It's not as fun to read books when u already know whats gonna happen. You're gonna love the OG trilogy movies. I'm close to be done with the prequel book

The more I hear about this movie the more excited I am to see it.
Logically the author will. There's still a huge cliffhanger in between both story arcs
SO.... (Spoiler Alert 🚨⚠️🚨⚠️) for us who read the book, I'm super excited. But... the cutting of the throat, it's gonna be shown? Right? Or at least very suggested, because that's a bigggggg(at least to me) turn of events for snow and the rest of the tributes
It’s a prequel. So it’s before the first hunger games movie.
Just shows how worpped the future president Snow became, this will be good movie.
I think it will show why Katniss triggers him so badly when she sings things like "The hanging tree" and she doesn't even know what the song means to Snow, but it probably has such deep meaning to him and how he became who he is.
It explains how Snow became such an ass...

I feel torn cos I’m not a big fan of Rachel. I thought some of her comments and the way she’s come across is quite unlikable. But I do really love the prequel, and I think Rachel has been pretty well cast for the role of Lucy Gray Baird. So I can only hope she’s done a good job. Maybe she might even get some redemption from this role.
@@davidfairweather3301 I certainly hope so. I really want this movie to do well. I don’t care enough to hate the Disney reboots. I just wish they would stop ruining other franchises.
@@davidfairweather3301 tbf people are really only seeing the bad moments, like her takes on the whole snow white thing weren't the most... up to date, but honestly what she said was pretty inline to how disney has been treating the reboots/princesses in general
@@SeraWasStolen yeh I blame Disney way more than Rachel. I have so many problems with Disney recently. Rachel is the unfortunate mouthpiece for them. What I don’t like is that Disney have stayed silent and not defended her when what she said is definitely what they wanted the movie promo to show.

How? Why? Where? This story takes place way before her character is born. It would just be confusing to have her play a character in the prequel.

Having read all the books and loved the films. It's such a shame Rachel Zegler is in this movie. There is no way I can watch a movie with her in it. She makes me want to puke 🤢🤮

@@christopherwillows5515nobody said this, and to be honest, just a glance you wouldn’t even know Rachel was Latina. So please don’t make this a race thing. People don’t like how she’d come across in interviews and her comments about Snow White, which I understand.
However, despite me not being Rachel’s biggest fan, I do think she’s a pretty good choice for Lucy Gray Baird. I hope she does well in this movie, and earn herself some praise.
