Only 4 comments, Jaysus, back in the good old days when singing required talent compared to the shite that passes as singing today, God be with the old days.
This was just a year before I met them, so they look and sound just the way I remember them. One of my huge favorites of all the wonderful songs they did!
I love at 3:06 how Liam tries (to no avail) show the crowd how to clap on 2 and 4 instead of 1 and 3 :). How wonderful that we have performances like this that we can just pull up with a couple of clicks!
i was just a kid and I saw them in a pub north of Boston. Some how we got a table right up next to the stage, and of course at one point they pointed out our youthful age being in a pub. We blushed purple! Then at one point, a tiny droplet of spittle from Liam landed on my cheek and I was in love for ever after ;-)
For sure. Forever. All God's creatures definitely do have a place in the choir. ^___^ Now I want to know how young were you anyway. ("Oh, look at those young kids in a pub." And so on.) Did you ever know that Tommy Makem didn't even drink? He sang many drinking songs and sang in pubs but he wasn't into drinking. On one video that's on RUclips he says so and the audience laughs and he just says gently and quietly, "It's true." I don't think he and Liam could really have minded much that you were in a pub underage. They probably just supposed correctly that you were there for the singing and not the drinking. Hmmm? ^____^
People are silly saying that we are just humanizing the animals and so on. Especially when honestly many animals are actually nicer, kinder and more caring, forgiving and humane than some humans. ("Animals are kind to dumb people.") I think we all act a bit dumb sometimes. Luckily the animals are able to forgive us our stupid trespasses. That is fortunate for both them and us. Now, if we dressed them up in clothing like a human, then THAT would *actually* be humanizing them. @___@ And why would we want to do that? They're good just the way they are. ^___^
"I would have been lost without you" (adult Rosie says to the statue of the dog Balto at the end of the movie Balto). (Fiction but very loosely based on reality and definitely *inspired by* a true story that actually happened.)

Rest in piece Tommy.
This lifts the spirit which is what music is supposed to do. ☘️
How well Tommy's northern accent and Liams soft southern voice go together...

Yes , how we miss all the boys who could actually sing and entertain
Agreed. This is the real stuff. The Clancy brothers and Dubliners were some of the last real musicians

Bill Staines is one of the greatest folk singers alive today.
Met them in Bronx and queens ny about 1961. Fanulous
Have to add another comment--I am not the only person I know who always whooped when Tommy did that hip thing in this song! LOL!
Yes, very subtle with plenty of joy added

A Place In The Choir
Celtic Thunder
All God's creatures got a place in the choir
Some sing low and some sing higher,
Some sing out loud on a telephone wire,
Some just clap their hands, or paws, or anything they've got now
All God's creatures got a place in the choir
Some sing low and some sing higher,
Some sing out loud on a telephone wire,
Some just clap their hands, or paws, or anything they've got now
Listen to the top where the little bird sings
On the melodies and the high notes ringing,
And the hoot owl cries over everything
And the blackbird disagrees
Singing in the night time, singing in the day,
When little duck quacks, and he's on his way
And the otter hasn't got much to say
And the porcupine talks to himself
All God's creatures got a place in the choir
Some sing low and some sing higher,
Some sing out loud on a telephone wire,
Some just clap their hands, or paws, or anything they've got now
The dogs and the cats they take up the middle
While the honeybee hums and the cricket fiddles,
The donkey brays and the pony neighs
And the old gray badger sighs
Listen to the bass, it's the one on the bottom
Where the bullfrog croaks and the hippopotamus
Moans and groans with a big t'do
And the old cow just goes moo
All God's creatures got a place in the choir
Some sing low and some sing higher,
Some sing out loud on a telephone wire,
Some just clap their hands, or paws, or anything they've got now
It's a simple song a little song everywhere
By the ox and the fox and the grizzly bear,
The dopey alligator and the the hawk above,
The sly old weasel and the turtle dove
All God's creatures got a place in the choir
Some sing low and some sing higher,
Some sing out loud on a telephone wire,
Some just clap their hands, or paws, or anything they've got now
All God's creatures got a place in the choir
Some sing low and some sing higher,
Some sing out loud on a telephone wire,
Some just clap their hands, or paws, or anything they've got now
All God's creatures got a place in the choir
Some sing low and some sing higher,
Some sing out loud on a telephone wire,
Some just clap their hands, or paws, or anything they've got now
All God's creatures got a place in the choir
