@kavehseivani yeah I know I forced it, the song was done originally without a solo. But I had to do one now just to demonstrate the powerball lead sound.
@runelink2 peavey 5150(6505) or bugera. The choices are limited below 1000USD. But if you're not going to gig or rehearse check out the smaller amps like the Gigmaster or Blackstar HT5.
@1banez If I have to then sure. I tend to eq with mic placement instead. Works better for me. I always use a Low-passfilter though set to around 7000-8000hz
Ola has done a mini rectifier metal video and sounds pretty good. As far as I can tell all you have to do is bump the bass and mids a bit more than on a dual rectifier and you get a good sound for a lower wattage amp. It definitely has enough gain to play with. Something i found out after years of playing guitar is you really don't need an insane amount of gain when you learn to play clearly and precise. I hardly go over 3 o'clock on gain anymore, sometimes on lower gain amps though I'll max it
The powerball sounds amazingly sharp with out all that painful hiss u get from most high gain amps great job bro! I'm currently looking into the fireball and or if possible the Special Edition
@joniwankenobi definately the engl powerball, i've tried both and i can say the distortion channel from the engl is the most brutal distortion i've ever heard, also the clean channel sounds extremely good. I didn't like the 5150ii at all...
oh yeah! all engls except for the fireball are extremely versatile, and engl cleans are some of the best you'll ever find on a high gain amp. but if i were you i'd get a savage. just sounds better to my ears. or a blackmore if you don't care about seperate eq's and want a tone similar to the savage. i have a blackmore, and it's the best amp i've ever played (and that includes mesa mk v, roadster, fortin bones, peavey 6505, pretty much the entire engl line and many more!)
@JYZProductions Actually, there are really great guitars made of Alder and Ash. Many lead guitarists prefer them and some like it for rhythm sounds too. Mahogany is a great wood but you shouldn't forget the other woods.
@ChucklesMginty i have my powerball since 2009 and i think thats the best amp you can get for that money and anyone who says ´´ its too much scooped or it dont cut through the band´´ didnt hear this thing live with the right settings. greetz felle
@XxRisexXxAbovexX I think that the cab makes a big part of the sound. As the other guy said above its not only the amp. style, knowledge and a well fitted system form a whole. playing such an amp with headphones will result in major discontent. go and have a look at a pod or something equal...
@JYZProductions Yeah, maybe, but Maple and Ash are way brighter than Alder; using them on a 7 string is a good idea and gives it a very clear sound, hence why Jeff Loomis uses an ash 7 string. Anyway, Alexi Laiho, Steve Carpenter (notable in particular for his alder 8 string signature), Piotr Wiwczarek (from Vader, who have a very good guitar sound), Kirk Hammett, Jeff Waters (Schizo Deluxe era), Chuck Schuldiner, and several others use/used alder bodied guitars for metal.
@fearedse hey dude sounds badass as usaul. i love the engl powerball2 just got a chance to try it out in person and man thats the best amp ive ever played in my whole life sounds so much better than my randall v2 head. anyways cheers brother keep up the badass guitar playing.
Framus Cobra is what you seek. Or perhaps a mesa boogie mark iv. I tried the fireball and that thing was loaded with gain man...like inaudible after 3 on the gain knob.
@fearedse Nothing wrong with that! I'm 25% looks, otherwise I wouldn't own the EBMM haha. Thanks for the reply! Keep up the videos man, yours are always something to get excited about when I see them in the sub box. :D
mk V. the rockerverb is not too versatile, but it has a very unique character to it that you won't find on any other amp. orange sounds like orange, and if you want that you shouldn't bother with anything else. the EVH is pretty versatile and very good sounding, but the MK V is a whole collection of awesome amps! if only they'd manage to make a MIDI version...
Amazing tone here. Just curious if you have to crank this amp in the studio to get a solid recorded tone or can you record at lower volumes? Is it ideal for home studio recording? Thanks
Ive been using one for 4 years at lower volumes and it still sounds great. The mid range however is slightly less articulated and slightly muddier on the low lead/high lead channels.
i've got a Framus Cobra modified Dragon for sale right now if you're interested. i have two. i like the dragon better but most people like the cobra so i had mine pro modified for cobra tone and it's not my thing so it's for grabs. on the clip i love it as always. sorry for pluging my amp but i saw it mentioned. i definitely like your Framus and Mesa tones best so far other than your new FORTIN designed Randall SATAN. that's a feckin monster too. those three i think are my favorites.
@fearedse I agree, they are ugly, but I own an EBMM Axis Supersport, and aside from the looks; it plays AMAZING dude. The neck is such a guilty pleasure, it plays SO good. I began to dig the looks because of the playing =).
@Deratronicum Yeah, of course I know that :). I was just wondering if it was the old or new verision. Actually the name is Powerball I or poweball II not mark I or II. My bad...
@kavehseivani i agree with @RoxxorBidoune that solo went perfectly with the song. it was so smooth and meshed together with the chord changes perfectly. you dont always have to shred on a solo for it to be good sometimes less is more ;-)
Have you tested a Madison Amplifier!? Try to get one and test it! They are great amps! but they were discontinued because Madison Amplifiers went out of business... :(
Ola ! Please ! can you post the ( Raw guitars only ) of this vid !? Have to find this kind of sound with my powerballs ! ( in the mix its not very easy )
@fearedse dude sounds fuckin badass me likey. and i love the engl powerball2 jus got a chance to try one out my self and man they blow my randall v2 into the water wish i could afford 1. you have to hear them in person to hear how good they really sound. cheers brother keep up the great work.
if you don't mind my asking what pick do you use and could you please do an orange th30 demo ASAP thats if you can get ur hands on one though...... once again great sound and demo ;)
@fearedse I know the Solar 7 is you signature guitar. What made you decide to go with Stricktly 7? and not Jaden Rose or Mayones or someone else.... I guess I want to know what the deciding factor. Reason I ask is I am thinking of ordering one and possibly the Solar 7. Thanks for your response. Great playing btw.
Ola, do you listen to SEPTICFLESH at all? Going by what I can get from your videos, they incorporate a lot of the same guitar and vocal "feel"/"style" I get from you and your vocalist. I know you program a lot of drums, so, I don't know much about your drummer; but their drummer seems to capture a lot of what you like to program, as well
Hi, Could somebody please explain to me exactly what ENGL's Power Tube Monitoring is? Is it an automatic biasing function, or does just let you know when a valve has blown and which one it is? Thanks in advance.
now that you play to something recorded are the sound then runned at a spicific frequency and double tracked and what not? cause that just fucks with our heads..
This is an amazing tone...
@1337ex you can buy the album by donating on my blog. The address can be found in the description.
@kavehseivani yeah I know I forced it, the song was done originally without a solo. But I had to do one now just to demonstrate the powerball lead sound.
My favorite amp!Aggressive,tight,meaty,yet very clear and precise tone.Dream of every metal player. :)
+Dado Simic definitely
this amp is good for lower tunings?
@@gabriellesta7568 yup!!!
I was lucky to get mine for 500 Australian dollars 🔥🔥
@runelink2 peavey 5150(6505) or bugera. The choices are limited below 1000USD. But if you're not going to gig or rehearse check out the smaller amps like the Gigmaster or Blackstar HT5.
@Tonefreak91 True story; I usually lie in the descriptions of my videos: "Thanks to Arvid Dreadhead for letting me borrow his amp!" :)
@1banez If I have to then sure. I tend to eq with mic placement instead. Works better for me. I always use a Low-passfilter though set to around 7000-8000hz
@Royzilber well almost 80% of the songs I upload are Feared songs so... yeah...
@brotheranorexia Yeah It's mic'd with a SM57
Ooooo i might just end up getting this over the EVH or Marshall i've been looking at
@runelink2 congrats on the new amp. I had a RH200 combo and it was pretty cool! For the price it's hard to beat.
@An1m3Watch3r oooops damn you're right, I've been using the RGD2127 to much lately...
@latinflowproduction1 As of now I own 4 guitars and one amp :D. Most of the amp for testing are borrowed.
@louisblond68 If he's not he will be eventually!
no matter what amp was used the Ola... he definitely has his own tone-stamp. amazingly heavy & distinctive... an overall great tone.
@gabrielhunk My last line!
Ola has done a mini rectifier metal video and sounds pretty good. As far as I can tell all you have to do is bump the bass and mids a bit more than on a dual rectifier and you get a good sound for a lower wattage amp. It definitely has enough gain to play with. I hardly go over 3 o'clock on gain anymore, sometimes on lower gain amps though I'll max it
@xXokcoolXx Never heard of it...
@neo69hk thanks man,
The powerball sounds amazingly sharp with out all that painful hiss u get from most high gain amps great job bro! I'm currently looking into the fireball and or if possible the Special Edition
These things have so much gain it's crazy! He's also boosting it with an OD808.
@jmdb1994 then should expand the viewer or watch in full screen.
@joniwankenobi definately the engl powerball, i've tried both and i can say the distortion channel from the engl is the most brutal distortion i've ever heard, also the clean channel sounds extremely good. I didn't like the 5150ii at all...
@silentboy85 nah I don't like the look of the MMs. looks like they where made for dwarves... Ibanez still has a little edge to their look.
Holy shit i think this is the best sounding amp you've ever done. amazing sounding
@staytrue0407 cause people kept complaining that I actually didn't give any love... :/
Feels good to hear some Feared out of you again. Even if Scarpoint is badassed as hell
the right hand technique here is some of the best i have seen.
@fearedse These are sweet, thanks for the suggestion.
If Ola had a solo project with Christian Älvestam I'd Buy every existing copy of it.
Yes yes yes yes
That sounds too metal...world is not ready for it.
Solo + With someone = square root of -1 = no good man
Technically that would be a duo-project, not solo...:D
oh yeah! all engls except for the fireball are extremely versatile, and engl cleans are some of the best you'll ever find on a high gain amp. but if i were you i'd get a savage. just sounds better to my ears. or a blackmore if you don't care about seperate eq's and want a tone similar to the savage. i have a blackmore, and it's the best amp i've ever played (and that includes mesa mk v, roadster, fortin bones, peavey 6505, pretty much the entire engl line and many more!)
@givemeajackson
Actually one of them switched to Ran guitars, but it's also an alder guitar, so your point still stands.
I've been watching your vids and I think you've sold me on the Engl's. Thanks!
@BashYouLongtime yeah I bet they feel really good... But I'm 50% looks 50% feel :)
@JYZProductions
Actually, there are really great guitars made of Alder and Ash. Many lead guitarists prefer them and some like it for rhythm sounds too. Mahogany is a great wood but you shouldn't forget the other woods.
The Powerball definately wins the most crushing metal tone of all time imo.
@ChucklesMginty i have my powerball since 2009 and i think thats the best amp you can get for that money and anyone who says ´´ its too much scooped or it dont cut through the band´´ didnt hear this thing live with the right settings.
greetz felle
@xXokcoolXx they are from louisville, ky they are sick.. older band back in the late 90's to early 2000's..
@XxRisexXxAbovexX I think that the cab makes a big part of the sound. As the other guy said above its not only the amp. style, knowledge and a well fitted system form a whole. playing such an amp with headphones will result in major discontent. go and have a look at a pod or something equal...
love the clean progressions.
@JYZProductions
Yeah, maybe, but Maple and Ash are way brighter than Alder; using them on a 7 string is a good idea and gives it a very clear sound, hence why Jeff Loomis uses an ash 7 string.
@fluff191 Always! :)
@runelink2 not really...
I'm buying this amp! Thanks Ola! Awesome as usual!
Awesome! Engl Amps are the best amps in the world!
@JYZProductions
There are a bunch of great alder guitars for metal, as a certain Jeff Haneman can testify.
@fearedse hey dude sounds badass as usaul. i love the engl powerball2 just got a chance to try it out in person and man thats the best amp ive ever played in my whole life sounds so much better than my randall v2 head. anyways cheers brother keep up the badass guitar playing.
This amp is soooo to die for. 😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍💕👍👍💕💕👍💕💕💕💕💕👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Framus Cobra is what you seek. Or perhaps a mesa boogie mark iv. I tried the fireball and that thing was loaded with gain man...like inaudible after 3 on the gain knob.

That also depends on the pickups you are using. You could change your pickups, and perhaps get a more raw tone of what you are looking for.
@SEVIL999
It's an 100 watt amp so almost definitely.
Amazing tone here. Just curious if you have to crank this amp in the studio to get a solid recorded tone or can you record at lower volumes? Is it ideal for home studio recording? Thanks
I was wondering the same thing!
As I mostly play in my room, I really cannot crank it too loud if I were to get one.
Ive been using one for 4 years at lower volumes and it still sounds great.
The mid range however is slightly less articulated and slightly muddier on the low lead/high lead channels.
Succulent Lord i think that's why he's using the maxon od808
your playing style is so good. keep up the work
Wow that amp is just a beast
My favourite with engl savage!
@jmdb1994 not only the video changes but also the audio is better at higher settings like 720 and 1080p
you have the best gear on the market bro!!! id kill for an engl savage head and an orange cab of my own!
@TheTyrantRaptor This is engl compressor. You can't say the same about Invader or Savage...
@fearedse There should be an ola signature ibanez. Id buy one
i've got a Framus Cobra modified Dragon for sale right now if you're interested. i have two. i like the dragon better but most people like the cobra so i had mine pro modified for cobra tone and it's not my thing so it's for grabs.
on the clip i love it as always. sorry for pluging my amp but i saw it mentioned. i definitely like your Framus and Mesa tones best so far other than your new FORTIN designed Randall SATAN. that's a feckin monster too. those three i think are my favorites.
@fearedse Yeah I am for sure going to the premiere! With the hair and the beard you almost look like the guy in the commercial :O
Hey man no worries :) Wish I could afford one myself, tried one of em in a shop and loved it!
Heard intro (This is going to crush) Heard amp (Yep!!!) Such an awesome amp!!
Depends on what you want...if you want versatility then the Engl because 6505+ doesn't have crap for a clean channel
You're better off with the Savage for that as it is more versatile but it can do metal pretty well too.
Sounds killer Ola..
@fearedse I agree, they are ugly, but I own an EBMM Axis Supersport, and aside from the looks; it plays AMAZING dude. The neck is such a guilty pleasure, it plays SO good. I began to dig the looks because of the playing =).
Sounds Awsome i love the sound. I think its sounds verly like Opeth
What about givin us a new Powerball II video with the Solar? :P btw that was superb!
@Deratronicum Yeah, of course I know that :). I was just wondering if it was the old or new verision. Actually the name is Powerball I or poweball II not mark I or II. My bad...
@kavehseivani i agree with @RoxxorBidoune that solo went perfectly with the song. it was so smooth and meshed together with the chord changes perfectly. you dont always have to shred on a solo for it to be good sometimes less is more ;-)
@AntaresX9
Some Marshalls are decent for death metal, as you can hear on both Blotted Science records.
amazing tone man. and song it sounds killswitchy
beautiful song!!!!!!!!!!!
That being said Engl can get not only metal sounds but even good cleans and pushed overdrive sounds for rock etc?
@fearedse Have you done this song in any other video? I swear I have heard it in another video!
Have you tested a Madison Amplifier!? Try to get one and test it! They are great amps! but they were discontinued because Madison Amplifiers went out of business... :(
@reaghan55metallica cause it sounds better!
Ola ! Please ! can you post the ( Raw guitars only ) of this vid !?
Have to find this kind of sound with my powerballs ! ( in the mix its not very easy )
Ola please do a demo without the OD808, ok?
@fearedse dude sounds fuckin badass me likey. and i love the engl powerball2 jus got a chance to try one out my self and man they blow my randall v2 into the water wish i could afford 1. you have to hear them in person to hear how good they really sound. cheers brother keep up the great work.
awesome stuff ! it would be cool to test the powerball 2 !!!
@EmilFinnas94 It's an ENGL Powerball
I love your music !! You rock !
if you don't mind my asking what pick do you use and could you please do an orange th30 demo ASAP thats if you can get ur hands on one though...... once again great sound and demo ;)
@reaghan55metallica he's right i did and sounds tighter and smoother but still heavy
so have you thought about making a vid on the dime d100 head yet?
Ola I know you busy nowadays, but do video on ozone tone matching eq sometimes. I'm curious what tones you'll get.
Of all your videos, this is your best tone. There's any patch for the Axe Fx?
@TheBlackDahlia815 buy it, i bot it a few months ago and i can't get anough of it. i just wish i could buy his scarpoint album.

@AgentA2628 try it, i'm sure you'll like it.
Hi,
Could somebody please explain to me exactly what ENGL's Power Tube Monitoring is?
Is it an automatic biasing function, or does just let you know when a valve has blown and which one it is?
Thanks in advance.
It lets you know if a valve has stopped working and indicates with a led which one it is
now that you play to something recorded are the sound then runned at a spicific frequency and double tracked and what not? cause that just fucks with our heads..
they say the Framus Cobra is the perfect amp for that, big sound, no boost needed, i think unearth uses it, check it
still have rgd2127z in Tags. such an awesome guitar, perhaps it deserves to be in every tag. ;)
