Seeing Lily arranging your china (she was actually doing a pretty good job, very careful) reminded me of my Aunty's china cabinets she would let me 'play with' as a kid. I could spend hours arranging and re-arranging her treasures and now I have my own cabinets and to this day I can spend hours playing china cabinets - I find it very relaxing. I can see you instilling a life long love for your niece.

Looks fresh and tidy. I actually like the cabinets as freestanding pieces rather than built ins because it gives you options for rearranging and moving them about. You are lucky to have your Mom with you and I'm sure she's so happy to spend time with you.
I'm the same with cables, I cannot stand to have them on view as they're so ugly and no matter how neat and tidy a room is, if there are cables on show, it looks a mess. Those cabinets are lovely and your whole lounge turned out so well. Loving the real fire too. 😊
Our kids don't own their own homes yet. I introduced them to your videos to encourage them they don't have to start out with a mini mcmansion and can live luxuriously fabulously well. I'm really challenged to find places for my existing furniture and ways to display my treasures! I may do what you did in one area by our fireplace...so we'll see how it goes! So, we had paint color matched to the ikea shelves and painted the woodwork to match. Your room looks great. Take care of mom. You'll look back and treasure the time your spending with her now.

This is great! I used Billy bookshelves (center with doors, then flanked with a narrow shelf and then a wide shelf) in my craft room to mimic a built in....it really worked out well and looks great.

Ohhh the exact same thing happened to me over 5 years ago now , my mum Christmas Day pneumonia, her lips were blue, no oxygen in her blood , she was so poorly , I took her to my house so I could look after her, my dad had to continue working, hope your mum has a speedy recovery big hugs and a big gold star to you for looking after her ❤️❤️❤️

Ohhh the exact same thing happened to me over 5 years ago now , my mum Christmas Day pneumonia, her lips were blue, no oxygen in her blood , she was so poorly , I took her to my house so I could look after her, my dad had to continue working, hope your mum has a speedy recovery big hugs and a big gold star to you for looking after her ❤️❤️❤️
