My oldest daughter was in kindergarten when I pulled her out and started homeschooling. There are no cameras in the classrooms, and parents weren't allowed to do sit-ins. (2020 covid restrictions) I soon found out there were 2 transgender students in her KINDERGARTEN class. The tipping point was that one day she said her teacher gave her underwear from a lost and found pile to dry up a spill. I pulled her out right after, because I didn't know what the heck was happening in that classroom. I ended up dropping out of college 8 credits(2 classes) away from getting my degree, and I quit my job. That was the best decision I ever made. Oldest is approaching 4th grade, and I am so excited!
I was homeschooled my whole life and just graduated this year. couldn’t be happier and more grateful that my parents made the sacrifice to homeschool me. It has kept me at of a lot of trouble. 10/10 would recommend👌

We're a homeschool family. I'm a former teacher that quit to stay home to raise my kids. I was so excited for my kid to enter kindergarten. He could read and write and do math before kindergarten and he had a great love and life of learning. They stomped it out of him. After that, I pulled him out and have been homeschooling him ever since along with his 2 siblings. Going on 10 years now. Best decision for our family.
Same! Former public school teacher, never thought I would homeschool, now I can't imagine sending my kids to public school. I don't even know if I could go back and teach in a public school.
Good on you! If I was still in the kid raising age, I think that's what I would do. It was bad enough back in the 80's when I made my son's 3rd grade teacher "a promise" that almost got me arrested. What she didn't know though was my neighbor and best friend was on the local school board and her contract was up at the end of that school year. Telling a child they're stupid, slow, and the whole class hates them is a good way to meet your maker, when it's one of my kids, no matter if there is shared DNA, or not!
My wife and I sent our son to public school for kindergarten and the beginning of first grade in San Jose California. It was so bad we took him out of school until the 5th grade when we had moved to Utah. He was ahead of his classmates but the school system was actually very good with lots of parental involvement. Parent teacher conferences were packed. We moved back to San Jose and had to put him in high school due to financial issues. He used to come home disgusted and bored stating that he had already learned the material in 6th and 7th grade in Utah. Needless to say he got straight A's. When we went to parent teacher conferences virtually no parents showed up. Most of his teachers that I met were just putting in time until they could retire. Very sad state of education in California.

Homeschooling parent here, been doing it since the 2014-2015 school year. All our kids are between 1-3 grades ahead of their age in all subjects with only ~2-3 hours of schooltime per day.
We homeschooled our kids, they had plenty of interaction in the neighborhood for normalizing group behavior. One hour a day, six days a week. They took the Ohio 12th Grade Test and all aced it. Made the school district list them as Graduated with Honors and they got Diplomas not a "completion certificate" or a GED. If you know, you know.

I home-schooled my kids all the way through high school. When they turned 15, they dual-enrolled in college. My daughter graduated high school with an AA for free (except for books). My son was only a few credits away from an AA when he graduated. My relationship with them is fantastic. They did not rebel like other teens, and they actually respected our opinions as parents. Best decision we ever made.
We will be homeschooling both of our kids this upcoming school year. Enough is enough. Our youngest is going into 1st grade, and I refuse to let him be a part of the lunacy that has become the public school system.
We have been homeschooling for 20 years, and just graduated our third child 💜 Homeschooling has been such a blessing for our family, and now I lead and mentor homeschool moms, so they too can have one of the best experiences of their lives 💜
My husband and I got married outdoors, at Castle Lake, absolutely gorgeous! Asked people to bring a potluck dish. Everyone was invited to stay over at the campground that we reserved and paid for. Two days later we left on our honeymoon. A 3 month hike on the Pacific Crest trail from Castle Crags thru Yosemite. Total cost of everything, including my dress that I hand beaded and jewelry, as well as the food we had shipped to points along the way, was well under $500. It was super memorable and proved to us if we could do that together, we could ensure anything in our marriage. Also, I homeschooling our son through high school and he finished in 2 years!
I would not have believed that a parent would attend an interview, except it happened to me. At a retail job. One of the first questions that they asked as if it's allowed for the parent to be there while the kid works. The only reason I did the interview was to see how funny it would get, I was not disappointed. I wonder if he ever got hired anywhere. Clown world.
Homeschooling my daughter since kindergarten in 2017. To paraphrase Shakespeare, some are born to homeschool, some achieve homeschooling, and some had homeschooling thrust upon them. We’re firmly in that middle group.

Wish I was homeschooled. I would have never been gaslighted by the school system and government that I was the crazy one, and needed meds to calm down and sit still. Would have never had a drug problem. Would be a normal productive member of society instead of convinced I was mentally disabled and put on disability. The public school system has gotten worse, now trying to Gaslight children they can change their gender. I was picked on by adults for being a normal straight White man I'm now convinced of that.
There are small news papers that have only job listings. I collect them and when someone asks for money, I ask them, are you unemployed? When they say yes, I give then one of the job listings news papers.

Two things: We spent $300 on our wedding. We spent $3000 on our Mexico honeymoon. 2) In 2012, I bought a used Tundra with 98k for $18k. Paid off in 3 years…It now has 260k and they go a million miles. No payments for 9 years! Oh: 3) We homeschooled all four kids. They complained, but thank me now and homeschool their kids as well😂

Politicians won't fix things because they need to campaign on their ambition to fix things.
And what's worse, some of them claim they will fix things like the climate, racism and the "rights" of people who already have the same rights as everyone else.
I saw a quote from a show, I think it was law and order, and the character said: the government has the means and man power to destroy all the poppy fields and marijuana fields but they the won’t do it so they can campaign for a war on drugs.
Which ambitions do they have?

We're a homeschool family. I'm a former teacher that quit to stay home to raise my kids. I was so excited for my kid to enter kindergarten. He could read and write and do math before kindergarten and he had a great love and life of learning. They stomped it out of him. After that, I pulled him out and have been homeschooling him ever since along with his 2 siblings. Going on 10 years now. Best decision for our family.
Same! Former public school teacher, never thought I would homeschool, now I can't imagine sending my kids to public school. I don't even know if I could go back and teach in a public school.
That’s awesome!
You're not a former teacher, you just have a small, focused class.

My son was only a few credits away from an AA when he graduated. My relationship with them is fantastic. They did not rebel like other teens, and they actually respected our opinions as parents.

Some districts allow homeschooled kids to partake in extracurricular, which makes sense as the parents are paying property taxes (included in rent if renting). Of course that depends on the kids' interest, sports to debate to robotics, etc.
