Bill Bellichick continues to show his mediocrity as a coach ever since Brady left. Brady made up for a lot of the Patriots shortcomings (both as a roster and coaching). He just happened to benefit from riding the coattails of the GOAT
I am a Bills fan and despise Belichick and Brady.
But that does not make me blind to the way Belichick changed the game, how dominant Brady was, or how great either of them have been their entire careers.
It is sad people can't differentiate the two things in this day and age...
P.S. I also kinda like Mac Jones and think he will have some really good years ahead.
How did Belichick change the game? What system is named after him? What star pupils of his have had success or changed the game? What is his coaching tree? A defensive-minded head coach while all the major innovations in the league are to offense? That's the guy who "changed the game"?
Bill - I am literally going to court right now for doing an illegal U-turn in traffic and telling the cop "yes, I did it, I'm sorry, it was stupid of me." He turns the camera in and the DA decides - oh, he admits it? Then let's tag "assault" on to the charges and bring him in. Assault only means that my actions "may have caused fear in the public" and so now I'm $5k poorer for the fine so I avoid jail. I'm a Pats fan, and I think Bellichik is a mediocre coach. He failed in Cleveland as a coach. He lost in New England till Brady started playing. He benched Butler for a superbowl, and as a result, the Eagles won. He lost the superbowl when the Pats were undefeated. He's overrated.
He's a top 3 all-time defensive mind. All 6 Pats SBs had a top 8 defense. In SB42 it was the offense that got shutdown, not the defense shitting the bed. Did the reason Butler got benched ever get revealed?
