I had to do an oral presentation on stereotypes and I chose to do the stereotype that "screamo" is "satanic" and to disprove this I showed my class lyrics to a parkway drive song without playing the music and everyone agreed that it was very intelligent and lyrically powerful "poetry" (they said if I hadn't told them it was a song they would've thought it was poetry ) anyway after that I played the song and everyone was so shocked! A lot of my classmates agreed that their opinions of the genre have changed significantly
Hello guys! I'm from Greece. At 2012 two month after this album release, I become in hospital with leukemia. This album gave me encouragement to live. After 5 years I want to tell this story. Do the best guys!
Hands down the most meaningful Parkway album. To me, this hits home more than any other. There is not one song on this whole album that I don't enjoy listening to and I must say The River is such a fuckin great song. Parkway Drive makes another masterpiece!!!
Fuck, their album is so good! Especially their songs "Old Ghosts/New Regrets", "Wild Eyes", "Dark Days", and "Blue And The Grey". Such heavy inspirational music that really brings out the spirit of love and joy. Parkway Drive is definitely one of my top favorite bands now! Looking forward to their new album coming up this year (hopefully).
This album is just perfection, i like every song on the album and that's rare! Only other album was Horizons, PWD are just on another level of greatness
+neeksthecuz I feel they've stayed consistent up until this album. I loved every song on KWAS, Horizons, and Deep Blue. This album, I don't like two songs and with IRE, I'm not a fan of half the album.
Definitely their best album. Sparks starts things off slow and then BOOM right into Old Ghosts/New Regrets. By far my favorite Parkway song is Dark Days. It is incredibly heavy (that breakdown is brutal in every sense of the word) and it also has a good message. And of course Blue and the Grey is a song you have to listen to. Probably my second favorite Parkway song. If you are a fan of metal or a returning fan of Parkway Drive get this album.
Parkway Drive put on an incredible show in SLC last night. You can tell in the way they play and they way they interact with their fans that they really care about their music and the people who listen to it. Truly one of the most influential concerts I've ever been to. Thanks, Guys.
it's great to see parkway maturing, through their sound. with the addition of acoustic parts, violins, piano, strings and gospel choirs, it's different for parkway, but they still pack the heaviness from other albums. amazing. they deserve the best, down to earth, honest dudes who love surfing, and best of all they're australian.
My heart's @ ease. Blue and the Grey makes my heart cry in both colors. I've never felt, heard, or read poetry as amazing as this. That one track DWARFS "Deep Blue" and is a true testament to the name of that album. It reaps the soul of the hungry and dubs the rock world of indulgence with feelings of chaos/somber. Never have I been so happy to be a Parkway Drive fan. Thank you for being my favorite band. Thank you for music that lets me head bang to soft songs and cry in joy while warring on.
Music has a massive impact on my life (maybe yours as well) and it is for that impact that I thank the members of Parkway Drive, they have truly inspired me throughout their albums and I will forever support them.
That's what I hated about some of my bands (ISS, W,IM, Issues, etc.). As much as I like the music, the drama got those bands to write some terrible songs talking shit about other band members and the people who hate their music. Don't get me wrong, I still think the songs are good! But the lyrics to those songs ruin it for me.
I just want to say thank you to this band. Music is a big thing in my life and my life would suck much more without this band. The day they stop making music, is the day I stop listening to music
When I first saw the reviews for this album a while ago I thought to myself "There's no way that this is the best metal album of 2012". Then I listened it... This album truly is a metal masterpiece
Much respect for labels and bands that share their art with their fans. I buy stuff I like and showing us that you want fans to hear your sound, not JUST buy it, makes me like it a lot more.
the river gives me so many chills. the whole album is fucking amazing but i think that the river is the one song that made this entire album stand out for me, absolutely amazing
parkway drive just keep getting better and better, i didnt think deep blue could, but then they conjure up something incredible. Best band on earth \m/
"Wild eyes" is sick with that chorus in the beginning and that riff in the beginning of "sleight of hand". jeez makes my heart get this warm feeling. Just want to mosh pit to this whole album at their concert.
After watching their movie, this band officially is one of my favorite. They seem like such fun guys and play amazing music. Olae olae parkway parkway!
I just love how each album Parkway Drive creates, it represents a different talent they have in musical creation. Killing with a Smile shows their Multi-style Ability (i.e Anasasis/Xenophontis) Horizons shows their overall Talent. Deep Blue shows their Creativity And finally Atlas shows how they can put so much Emotion into music. Honestly, it is amazing how Parkway can do such things.
I have to agree. It doesn't really matter what album is best though, I think what matters is the fact the Parkway Drive is so consistent in their music making they never let us fans down. They never lost their touch from the beginning to now and I feel quality is important to us fans and I believe they understand that
Not gonna lie when this album first went up on RUclips I was a bit disappointed but after listening to it a million times this stands out as one of the best album I've ever listened too.
4 Albums and Winston CONTINUES to stick to screaming like the bad ass he is. Exactly why Parkway Drive will always be my favorite "Core" band no matter what Core you speak about!!
It depends on the album and what role the band wants the producer to play, but for KWAS and Horizons the main thing Adam D did was record and mix all the instruments together. He also had direct input when it came to the songs themselves, meaning he had a direct hand in the songwriting. Usually the producer is the man in charge of the entire project which is why it is extremely important for bands like Parkway Drive to choose the right person.
What's up with people constantly arguing that this isn't metal? I am legitimately wondering since I listen to almost exclusively electro and this is the only other metal band other than Disturbed that I like, I found about these guys through a friend a few days ago and now I'm loving their stuff, so why is there so much hate about this not being metal? This is great stuff.
You kids are fools. Dream Run is one of the top songs on the album in my opinion. The album is overall really good. Top album songs are Dream Run, Wild Eyes, Dark Days, The River, Swing, Slow Surrender, Sleight of Hand, and Snake Oil and Holy Water
I've spent the last 9 years believing no album could live up to American Idiot by Green Day... Then Parkway come out with this. Not fanboy-ing, but this is genuinely one of the better albums I've ever heard.
They are a very good band with a respectable history of highly rated albums. Whether you like them or not is irrelevant, music is open for interpretation.
It's important to keep in mind that all the issues "we" face stem from a core, and that core is each one of us, as individuals. Take a few years of philosophy/ psychology and you'll see the world in a way you could have never imagined. It makes alot of what they are professing crystal clear.
A lot of my classmates agreed that their opinions of the genre have changed significantly
chris lee Which Parkway Drive Songs did you choose for your presentation?

A fucking heavy masterpiece. True soundtrack to the end of days. .
Nothing can beat seeing them live!

This album is just perfection, i like every song on the album and that's rare! Only other album was Horizons, PWD are just on another level of greatness
Can't wait for them to do another album, love this band so much!
Hope I also see them live one day.
Listen to their albums in sequence and you'll find that like fine wine, Parkway gets better with age
+neeksthecuz not too big on their newer ire album, but it still sounds good.
It's really hard to top their older work, but I feel that Ire is a great album nonetheless. Fractures is one of my top 5 PWD songs
The Sound of Violence and Dying To Believe are my favs on IRE
+neeksthecuz I feel they've stayed consistent up until this album. I loved every song on KWAS, Horizons, and Deep Blue. This album, I don't like two songs and with IRE, I'm not a fan of half the album.
then they forgot the bottle opened and ire happend.
These guys will forever go down as my favourite band ever. The melodies, the lyrics, the instrumentals are just spot on (y)
Only 55,587 more views to go!! Get to 1 million already!!!! :(
More than a million now man ! :)
***** I know! Fuck yeah! :D
Saw these guys at warped tour, it was my first time ever listening to them, and lemme say that I've been hooked ever since. Parkway for life.
They inspire me to keep playing guitar even when I want to give up. An amazing and underrated band.
Definitely their best album. Sparks starts things off slow and then BOOM right into Old Ghosts/New Regrets. By far my favorite Parkway song is Dark Days. Probably my second favorite Parkway song. If you are a fan of metal or a returning fan of Parkway Drive get this album.
The River, what a beautiful song with that voices...
Best parkway album. I love. Could listen to it on repeat.
It's all good, in the end we're all still here for the amazing work that Parkway Drive has made for its humble listeners.
Parkway Drive put on an incredible show in SLC last night. You can tell in the way they play and they way they interact with their fans that they really care about their music and the people who listen to it. Truly one of the most influential concerts I've ever been to. Thanks, Guys.
Dream Run, Wild Eyes, Dark Days, Slow Surrender \m/
All the songs you mentioned (except Dream Run) are my Top favorite PWD songs!!! :D
The river?
Atlas?
Dylan Heilman The whole album?
Bob the builder :D yes, and the song :3
the breakdowns....holy shit.
can't wait to see them live! just 30 more days
Ad Hominoid just 2 more days
I've listened to this album over and over again countless times. I've never done this with any album or any band... Ever! Congrats Parkway Drive!
it's great to see parkway maturing, through their sound. with the addition of acoustic parts, violins, piano, strings and gospel choirs, it's different for parkway, but they still pack the heaviness from other albums. amazing. they deserve the best, down to earth, honest dudes who love surfing, and best of all they're australian.
Absolutely amazing album!! I'm in love!!
The river is good too and the ending of the song is awesome.
I seriously can't find anything bad about this band. Fucking amazing.
Probably my favorite album. They did a good job making this I looked forward to it for awhile.

Saw them at Warped Tour this summer in Minneapolis and now I`m hooked. This album is great
Music has a massive impact on my life (maybe yours as well) and it is for that impact that I thank the members of Parkway Drive, they have truly inspired me throughout their albums and I will forever support them.
Αριστουργήμααααα parkway come to Greece again :D
ελα τρελε!!!!
;)
i always loved how parkway drive didn't have a baby tumblr fandom and best of all, no fucking drama.
Wild Eyes, Dark Days, Atlas.♥
and Carrion♥
Been listening to this album for a few days now, loving it! Wild Eyes is definitely my favourite right now.
Underrated album period. low-key one of their best, anyone else agree?
could literally listen to 29:19 - 29:41 for hours
Totally agree! :D
Could literally listen to 00:00 - 48:06 for days :D
When swing gets going it's probably one of there heaviest songs
Jared Sawyer Not even joking. Swing was one of the Greatest circle pits i have ever been i! Absolutley amazing.
Parkway Drive are so fucking good 0.0
I just want to say thank you to this band. Music is a big thing in my life and my life would suck much more without this band. The day they stop making music, is the day I stop listening to music
After 5 years of waiting I get to witness these dudes live on Thursday. I'm gonna lose my mind when they start playing!!
i can only fall asleep while listening to this album...
the E D G E
I counted three "BLERGH!"s on this album.
A band like this but also with clean vocals?

Midas Verburg cilice
Try Triviums' newer albums In Waves or the latest Vengeance Falls both are great
The Amity Affliction
In Hearts Wake
You can tell when a band is more about music than money, because they upload their entire album for free on youtube. So much respect earnt.
When I first saw the reviews for this album a while ago I thought to myself "There's no way that this is the best metal album of 2012". Then I listened it... This album truly is a metal masterpiece
264 petty souls who hate their lives
271 sick human
+Bring Me The Chair 272 deafs
+Dan Mac 273 not dank noobies.
I think this is the 1000th time I've listened to this album.
"The River" and "Swing" are the best songs by far, PWD absolutely kill it.
Mighty generous of you Epitaph, I'm very much enjoying this! Ta very much!
The story of how Parkway Drive came to be is absolutely mind blowing. Such an astounding band

"Wild eyes" is sick with that chorus in the beginning and that riff in the beginning of "sleight of hand". jeez makes my heart get this warm feeling. Just want to mosh pit to this whole album at their concert.
I love every parkway album equally. They are constantly evolving and every album is different but just as amazing as the last
the river is clearly the best number on the whole album. like i you agree!
never wanted to skip a single number on this LP, its awesome.
After watching their movie, this band officially is one of my favorite. They seem like such fun guys and play amazing music. Olae olae parkway parkway!
That was the first song I got hooked on. I listened to just it for almost a week. Learned the whole song on bass and the intro on guitar.
Guitar solo's over breakdowns? THERE is some peace of mind. Some of the old, more of the new. Love it!
Went to my first ever show a week ago. I cried during the intro and during home is for the heartless lol. Best time of my life
imo this is by far winstons best effort. his range and passion increase on every album
I just love how each album Parkway Drive creates, it represents a different talent they have in musical creation.
Killing with a Smile shows their Multi-style Ability (i.e Anasasis/Xenophontis)
Horizons shows their overall Talent.

Saw them in san francisco last sunday! BLESS THESE ANGELS !my neck STILL HURTS
when i was in sweden, this album came out, i was listening to this stream,
now im in turkey and its the sound of the emptiness flooding in.
Be happy you just found them. You have 4 albums of great music you haven't found yet.
I was never really a massive fan of them, but i'm only ten minutes into the album and loving every second of it!
Not gonna lie when this album first went up on RUclips I was a bit disappointed but after listening to it a million times this stands out as one of the best album I've ever listened too.
the river has to be the most meaningful song, its heavy yet the lyrics are just beautiful...
4 Albums and Winston CONTINUES to stick to screaming like the bad ass he is. Exactly why Parkway Drive will always be my favorite "Core" band no matter what Core you speak about!!
This album feels like that one mellow song at the end of an album you like so much dont want to end.
I love parkways other albums but I think this one tops everything. just shows how much they've grown and progressed

Wild eyes,Dark Days and The River are absolutely amazing
Parkway Drive is keeping metal alive , stay metal \m/
Went to the first show of the Atlas tour NZ, Best night of my life
My first time listening to them, and I'm really loving them so far.
So happy that "The Slow Surrender" has finally been tabbed out. I just wish someone would take the time to tab out the entire record.
One of the few bands who never seem to disapoint. :)
One of the most consistent bands out there.
Metalcore is my favorite genre. Parkway Drive and Born of Osiris are keeping metal alive.
Such an amazing album, I've listened to it almost every day since it came out, no lies
ok so.. this is what's up.. every minute of every day, i chill out and listen to Parkway Drive.... and that's my life story.
Everybody says that Parkway Drive gigs are awesome! And i`m anxious for them to come to Portugal again!!
I fall asleep to this every night and I sleep like a baby. Perfect.
Oh my god this album is seriously freaking amazing every song is just there are no words to describe this album its just Brilliant!! Major Eargasm
Nah, i started listening to them around the time KWAS came out. i went to one of their shows and fell in love.
This is their best album in my eyes...I love them all but this puts them at new heights.
You kids are fools. Dream Run is one of the top songs on the album in my opinion. The album is overall really good. Top album songs are Dream Run, Wild Eyes, Dark Days, The River, Swing, Slow Surrender, Sleight of Hand, and Snake Oil and Holy Water
I love the melodic riffs parkway drive uses. Catchy.
I've spent the last 9 years believing no album could live up to American Idiot by Green Day... Then Parkway come out with this. Not fanboy-ing, but this is genuinely one of the better albums I've ever heard.

WOW. Is all i can say this album blew my mind from start to finish.........WOW!
This is why Parkway is the best band out there right now.
