      you very welcome! :-) Can you tell me if the low light performance is realy that bad as i seen in some of the videos on youtube? The fdr1000x had far better low light quality than this one according to the videos. Can you aprove that?

    • @SnowRenkon
      @SnowRenkon 8 лет назад

      When I shot the video at night using X3000, I felt the low light performance was not so good.
      I don't have a FDR-X1000V.
      This is for the first time for buying an action cam of sony because I used GoPro so far.
      I tried watching some videos that were shot at a dark place on RUclips.
      The image of X3000 seemed to be slightly darker than X1000V.
      In some scenes where an image did not have shaking, I thought that a image of X1000V was clearer than a image of X3000.

    • @SnowRenkon
      @SnowRenkon 8 лет назад

      Thank you for letting me about the video.
      As you said, the image quality of the video is better than mine.
      I must study the night shooting of this camera more, for example, what kind of situation can I shoot at night neatly.
      When I have time, I intend to try it.
      Thank you! (^_^)

      you welcome! I think the most important thing is to check if the camera has a setting for iso. If yes, then try to keep it as low as possible. That will improve a lot!

    Very nice review thank you. Two questions .
    1: Did you post process the night shots ?
    Mine are very noisy on the FDR X3000 and i'm wondering how you got those to look so clean and noise free.
    2: What did you use for mounting the FDR X3000 in a car ? Ive tried a variety of sony and third party suction mounts and extenders mounts but because of the shape and weight of the camera cant find anything that either doesnt bounce around on the dash or has such a long extensions arm it flexes or sits so far back from the windscreen the the camera picks up reflections.

    • @SnowRenkon
      @SnowRenkon 7 лет назад

      Thank you for your comment.
      Sorry for late reply.
      1,The shots at night just adjusted the brightness darkly at the time of editing.
      I think that the noise is small in this image because the condition of the light of this place was good.
      2,I attached a 3 point suction mount to the top of the front glass and shot. (The mount I used is the same as the link below)
      www.amazon.com/Delkin-DDMNT-TRIPLE-Gecko-Three-Arm-Suction/dp/B00A86MMY8
      At this time, in order to reduce the reflection, bring the lens of x3000 closer to the front glass as much as possible.
      Thank you!

    Fantastic upload. The fact that your English is poor (so you didn't speak) is not important. Seeing two cams simultaneously in different modes was inspirational - congratulations on a very easy to understand video, without all the 'showing off' budding RUclipsrs do who desperately seek stardom. I've seen a few Hero 5 vs Sony 3000 videos and the Sony mechanical OIS is far superior to anything digital software stabilisation can achieve. Vivid colour is great too - as you would expect from a Zeiss lens!
    Thank you your efforts. It was time well spent as I (like so many others) found your video very helpful in making a buying decision. (Sony 3000 beats Hero 5 in all but the most extreme conditions). Keep up the excellent work. :)

    Excellent work!!
    Just a little question:
    On NARROW (FHD), steam locomotive....
    I wish you've had back up and compose the whole machine, so we could see if the wide angle distortion is completely corrected.
    That's my major pet peeve with this action cams: When taking wide or panoramic shots everything is distorted, from the horizon to the light poles.
    Your video is very informative and a rich audio visual experience.
    Congratulations!!!

      Thank you for your comment.
      I’m happy to hear that.
      That encourages me a lot.
      It is certainly agree about the scene of a steam locomotive.
      When I shot a movie on the next time, I intend to be careful about such a point.
      I think the distortion of FDR-X3000 became better than the previous model.
      Thank you(^-^)

      Yes, I'll be expecting your new educational, not just informative, video.
      Yes, wide takes using the NARROW setting.
      By the way, someone said that at the WIDE setting the image gets a shows a better resolution. It must be the 4K, uh?
      Keep on sharing.
      Have a great day!!

      Yes, I used 4K image, because 4K and FHD is the same A.O.V. at the wide setting.> Have a great day!!Thank you. You, too!(^o^)

    Hey, what's the difference between standard and active stabi? Does the active loose a little bit of 4K quality and it's upscaling a 1080p to 4K or it's a true 4K and there is no quality loss between NORMAL and ACTIVE?
    Cheers.

    • @mattgraham4340
      @mattgraham4340 7 лет назад +1

      You can see at 2:47 of the video. Looks like you lose about 8% of the 8.2 megapixels in active mode. 2% loss in standard mode. So not quite 4k. According to Sony you only get the full 8.2 with stabilization off and view set to wide.

    Hi, I recently bought my first action cam (sony FDR-X3000R) after the excellent reviews and Sony's known quality.
    This camera is advertised with Optical Stabilization, but when I have to choose on the menu, there are 2 option:
    - (Uses all-encompassing SteadyShot function when shooting movies)
    - (Uses SteadyShot function when shooting movies)
    What is the difference between both functions?
    They are not explained in the catalog.

    • @SnowRenkon
      @SnowRenkon 7 лет назад

      Thank you for your comment.
      What I found out using it is as follows.
      [SteadyShot Active]
      - Optical Stabilization + Electronic Stabilization
      - about 8% crop
      [SteadyShot Standard]
      - Electronic Stabilization only
      - about 5% crop
      I do not really know whether this is correct, so please consider it for reference level(^-^)

    Then considering the active image stabilization would sacrifice some field of view, which setting do you usually use for Image Stabilization? Active or Standard? Especially for 4K video

    • @SnowRenkon
      @SnowRenkon 7 лет назад

      I usually use the active setting.
      When shooting a scene with motion with a wider angle of view, turn steadyshot off and use 3-axis handheld gimbal.
      I made a video shot with steadyshot active and 3 axis handheld gimbals, so please watch it if you want.

      Thank you. Sony’s balanced optical SteadyShot is really good(of course when shooting at 4K) and I am very satisfied with this camera.The frame rate for shooting movies of this camera can be chosen 60 frames at Full-HD and can be chosen 30 frames at 4K.I think that SteadyShot is more effective when shooting at lower frames.

    • @area28
      @area28 8 лет назад

      The thing is, that right now I use the Gopro 4 with 2.7k 60fps and the Feiyu WG Gimbal. I like that 2.7k because I do Paragliding and I need 60 fps for these faster movments. The Sony has either 4k 30fps (and this is not good for such movements) or FHD 60fps, but FHD ist not the quality I want anymore (while flying, because from the height I more pixels). So I will wait what Gopro 5 will offer. I had the Sonx FDR-X1000, but the fisheye-effect was too much, the FDR-3000 is much better. And now I saw the new Garmin with stabilization, but the Videos I saw were horror.

    • @SnowRenkon
      @SnowRenkon 8 лет назад

      I think the combination of the GoPro and the 3axis Gimbal is a very good choice.There is a rumor that GoPro5 will be able to be used image stabilization feature, so I'm looking forward to it.I think that the image quality of GoPro is very good compared with other action cameras.
