    I wish modern churches composed songs with this amount of grandure. It gets your mind into a real sense of awe. This is beautiful, and I'm sure that I'll be returning to this song again.

      Jesus is the only way the truth and the life. He died on the cross and rose on the third day so that you may be forgiven of your sins. Turn from all sin and follow Him. You will be set free and have everlasting life in Heaven. Repent while you still can!

      The modern pop Christian music is ok as it still has Christ inside it
      You have to listen to the words in the song.

      God does have a certain way he wants to be worshipped. In spirit and in truth. What that boils down to is who, and what, are your singing for? Do you sing for your own ears, because you like the music? Do you listen to feel good about something? This is not evil, or wrong outside of church, but is not worship. Worship is given entirely over to God alone and is tailored to be pleasant to him and him alone.

    • @erenjinchuriki
      @erenjinchuriki 4 года назад +1

      Grail Knight but who are you though to say modern pop worship isn’t sung for God, and that old hymns aren’t sung to please the ears as well? The Lord knows our hearts

    • @sangralknight3031
      @sangralknight3031 4 года назад +11

      @@erenjinchuriki When the Author of amazing grace wrote the song, He sang it to the lord. He didn't sell it on a record. It didn't need to be popular, or pleasing to the ear, or match any musical trends. It didn't need to be played in concert on a stage. It didn't even need to be sung in a church. It was written, and sung, as the heart cry of a single humble man to his God.
      That is singing in Spirit and in Truth, It was for no-one but God. Many, not all, hymns are like that. All modern pop music is copyrighted, owned by record labels, and sold. That is not evil, its certainly a good thing. The Hallelujah chorus was commercially written, owned, and sold, performed in great concert halls, but I would not call that worship. I would call that good business. There is no shame in that, its not a sin.
      I would not call it worship.
      Maybe it can be used to worship, if the heart is right, and the soul is willing. I don't know but it sits unwell with me. You do what you are told of God to do. Pray and ask him. As for me, I do not see these songs as worship, and I choose to worship a different way.

      The beauty of the music (modern) resonates with those beautiful (old) words. It seems that early Christians hiding out in those catacombs worshiping Christ were singing words like these. When they built churches later after persecution stopped, they built spaces that resonate. We associate choir sounds and resonating sounds with the 'spiritual realm'. There is something innate about all this. It is related, I believe, to the truth of the New Testament, those precious jewels of Light, those epistles, shinning in a dark place. Having thought about this does not make me 'religious', it just part of my journey. I'm a musician who kind of 'feels' history.

      This music would be totally strange to the writer of this hymn in 60AD. It's roughly a millennium and a half more modern!!! But i do agree that some modern songs are poor in scripture and spirit and they will disappear in time like they always do. Think about Fanny Crosby writing more than 8,000 hymns and gospel songs, how many do we remember?
