If You drive it fast but don't force it too hard is ok. But if you push the car over the limit it became very unpredictable. Doesn't do what you expect. The car has her own way too react and it can be dangerous. My other car (Prelude) is on rails. Doesn't fight back no matter how hard I try
I can't agree with you more. I have a '99 AP1 and the rear bump steer effect is every bit as bad as they have documented it within the S2KI forum. Compared to my other fwd Hondas I currently have the AP1 is not only loose but predictably unpredictable due to the bump steer effect the car was designed with. It is like a passive 4WS system that works the opposite way as your Prelude where the car gives you toe out when you want toe in for stability. That's before you consider as owners lower their cars, the bump steer effect gets worse not better. The rear shock also has limited travel from the factory due to the position of the top hat in order to clear the fuel filler neck. The factory rear shock has external oil reservoir to mitigate this problem but the vast majority of aftermarket coilover kits don't, making a lowered S2k often with less than an inch of travel before bottoming out making the car even more prone to snap oversteer. One thing the AP1 is superior to the fwd Hondas is its braking stability, the mid mounted front engine positioning, along with the FR setup and suspension anti dive setup from the factory allows you to brake late and deep well into the corners where deep trail braking reaps rewards and little chance of locking up the inside rear. I wish they have made the rear to behave like the ones on a FD3 RX7 or even the S chassis Silvias, still plenty fun yet safe giving the driver confidence to go full throttle earlier.
A comparison between different versions of the S2000 (ie AP1, AP1.5, AP2, CR) may give you more insights into Honda’s engineering process of the car throughout its 20 years lifespan! Thank you for the video!

千禧年前後設計嘅車真係分水嶺。好多部劃時代嘅車都係99 00咁上下出,除咗S2000之外仲有 E46 F360 依家睇返完全唔過時
NSX NA1同NA2都係好靚, 到依家見到都覺得佢係藝術品
如果真係能夠將S2000完全發揮自如,現時只有一個人做到,就係有份為S2000設計嘅前職業賽車手黑澤元治。邊個有份設計,就會有將性能發揮優秀嘅密碼。齋係喺賽車場,唔同嘅車手,所操控嘅車跑幾圈就會有一定偏差。
雖然飄移出名嘅土屋圭市揸過(特別係J Racing改嘅魔王S2000),跑群馬賽車場造出唔錯成績,亦都用過跑嵯峨Time Attack爬坡賽,但論實力,始終唔及老手(黑澤元治)好。
喺《頭文字D》裏嘅角色城島俊也,佢嘅原型就係老手(黑澤元治)。當然!藤原文太嘅原型,某部份係黑澤元治,另一個係已故演員菅原文太【拍過揸貨車嘅電影《天煞孤星(原名為《貨車佬》,但因為主角星桃次郎每次媾女嘅結局都係失敗告終,所以名為《天煞孤星》較貼切)》】。
點都好啦!喺節目《Best Motoring》落場嘅所謂原裝S2000,係N1級數改裝車。同市面上所賣嘅原裝車係有好大落差!!即使去搞乜嘢街頭賽嗰啲改裝,一定無符合FIA規格嘅好!!所以改裝呢回事,真係要三思!無乜必要就真係切勿模仿!!

s2000的誕生是慶祝本田50週年,因此不惜工本,賣一部蝕一部,回饋一直捧場的車迷。由開發至製出原型車,上原克服了許多困難,龍sir已提及的開縫車剛性超高轉引擎引伸的問題,而且沒有電子輔助,這部車完全從造車工藝的基本層面探究,琢磨至極限,賣得少反而蝕得少。上原繁也是專製作賣一部蝕一部的作品,最記得nsx typeR 完成時他強調比普nsx提高了安全性,記者問點提高呀?佢話不論軚感以至座椅傳遞的訊息都非常直接及細緻,令駕駛者響極限臨界更易作出反應囉!由人類的五感考慮,所以安全。

大佬,點會賣一部蝕一部啊?只不過研發成本高,定價高,銷量達唔到預期,分攤唔到個研發成本姐,LFA就賣一部蝕一部啦,所以限量
S2000... 算係一個神級嘅車, 當年好多機會冇買到, 新出嗰陣, 試車, 可能試車比較斯文, 冇爆tec, 好似唔夠力(當時揸緊E36 M3) 結果都係買咗 M Roadster (都係好車) 幾年後又心旭旭, 結果揀咗 二手996 ... 成20多年裏面, 其實都好多次想買, 硬係選擇咗其他(承認始終崇尚歐洲車) 近兩年多人搵, 價格直頭倍升, 加上步入中年, 又要車細路 似乎都係冇機會完 S2000 夢 🥺

VGS 係好好玩! 好多人話VGS 難揸。
我覺得VGS反而係需要駕駛者更專注, 同埋VGS設計係比落賽車場。 因為VGS 每50/70/90 KM轉一次ratio ,大家覺得佢難揸係因為根本唔啱行香港山路, 呢個都係一個挑戰性嚟, 需要駕車者有一定賽車場經驗/ kart仔經驗。
甩尾救車只需要逗一逗就救到, 更加接近一部kart仔。
可惜VGS出現可靠性問題, 除咗難揸,就係日子有功 出現變ratio時既lagging ,變得更難揸

EG, EK, DC2 都擁有過, 現時係AP1 車主, AP1 比頭轆HONDA 軑感強, 唔會輕飄飄. 車架亦係好硬
十年前擁有過全原裝嘅AP2, 係我第一架學識棍波既車。當年開NYC d好爛嘅路都好舒服唔跳。架車所有input 都好敏感要好花精神去渣先可以渣得順如果唔係好易騎馬仔或者跌出power band。新手跳上去就好似新手渣高達渣完成身散曬既埸面,不過果種人車合一既駕駛樂趣同滿足感呢架車上面係好獨特。慢渣真係同sohc civic 冇咩分別,架車其實唔慢不過要揸得快係好難。

曾經擁有 AP1, 的確原装避震車子是較為生動和適合,我只換了R 呔已覺得很夠用😁
S2000絕對好車, 換大少少尾牙令波段銜接之間無咁呆, 開心好多. 仲有係車主先會知道油箱制個鬼鼠位, 試過借比朋友打嚟問點開. 不過可能因為X bone frame設計將波箱熱力轉上嚟車廂, 揸得耐左肶會暖暖哋, 但冬天暖粒粒就好正
當日Edmond替部S2000入油,都要打畀個車主問油箱掣係邊度😂
噴plasma 係飛機引擎上咗好多年 Rolls Royce 用依個技術嚟係飛機引擎嘅 turbine 度做oil shield,

S2000 入灣好SHARP,但要小心唔好驚,收腳太快好易轉圈。
九千轉真係正,六千五上TEC,要KEEP轉數,唔係出灣乜力都冇。到而家我先有返架行到9000轉的車(992 GT3), 八千同九千真係差好遠
AP1要low車改避震,一定要加roll center adjuster, adjustable rear toe arm, bump steer kit. 架左係定好多,唔加架車有bump steer係唔平的地方會了。

其實一部非常好嘅開蓬車架(當係s2000),抗扭度有冇可能同一般嘅三廂式房車相題並論(同年代civic)? 其實汽車業界對車架硬度一般有冇數據publish?
S2000車架結構特別,抗扭剛性好過同年代Civic,至於數上可以上網找,搜torsional rigidity應該能找到的,但網上世界的訊息真真假假都有,要自己多加比較判斷。
